What a fantastic little portable Bluetooth tattoo transfer printer from the makers “Phomemo”
Perfect at its job, it does come with some transfer paper which is A4 size ready for you to open the box and use straightaway. Also in the box you get the charging cable to recharge and the connector to hook up to your pc via type-c & its own protective carry pouch.
Charging time isn’t too bad and the usage time is pretty good too, obviously depending on how much you use it.
Just press and hold the power button and you will hear a beep to notify it’s on and the same when switching off.
Red light will appear and when printer is ready to load transfer paper the light will turn to green.
Very quick and easy to connect to your smartphone, I’ve not connected to pc or tablet yet, only done via Bluetooth.
I downloaded the Phomemo App and was glad to see that the reviews on the app are good, once installed the app is very user friendly, so simple, nicely laid out, no connectivity problems, all smooth sailing.
The app has lots of its own templates you can use, you can scan and use your own photos too., so much versatility, it feels a solid little printer and quality is great.
Ideal for anyone who does mobile tattooing as well as in shop, doesn’t take up much space at all so if you have limited space this will be perfect.
Great printer, price is good
Coz I’m female I love that you can choose from a selection of colours too
Great Bluetooth Tattoo Stencil Machine. Easy to use and produces clear stencils. The thermal printing is efficient. Comes with plenty of transfer paper. However, setup instructions could be clearer and wish the price could be more friendly.
Product was faulty however they agreed to send a replacement right away. The printer works perfectly however I may have just been unlucky and got one that was faulty. Worked perfect for first month. Contacted customer support and they helped me troubleshoot the issue and agreed to send a replacement right away.
Really great. So easy to use I was worried I wouldn’t be able to set it up but was so easy to connect. Printing quality is really good and looks fab. The fact it’s portable is so handy and easy to use as it’s so small
The printer is good but I can’t use my Spirit transfer paper which is disappointing because have them a lot and it’s the best quality paper I’ve ever used.Thankfully they have 10 sheets different one.Now I have to figure out what kind of paper they included and how it gonna work as a transfer on the ski
As a beginner tattoo artist, I am always on the lookout for new and innovative tools to enhance my work. That’s why I was excited to try out the Phomemo M08F Bluetooth Tattoo Stencil Machine. After using it for a few weeks, I can confidently say that it has elevated my tattooing process.
Let’s start with the positives. First and foremost, the Bluetooth feature of this stencil machine is a game-changer. It allows me to easily transfer my designs from my phone or tablet to the machine, eliminating the need for messy and time-consuming manual tracing. This has not only saved me a lot of time but has also improved the accuracy of my stencils.
The machine itself is compact and lightweight, making it easy to transport to different locations. I have used it at my studio, as well as on the go, and it has never failed me. The A4 size is perfect for creating large stencils, and the quality of the prints is impressive. The lines are sharp and clear, and the thermal stencil maker ensures that the stencils stay intact throughout the tattooing process.
Another plus point of the Phomemo M08F is the 10 pieces of transfer paper that come with it. The paper is of high quality and works well with the machine, resulting in flawless and long-lasting stencils.
Now onto the negatives. While I do love the Bluetooth feature, I have noticed that it can be a bit finicky at times. There have been a few instances where the connection was lost, causing delays in my work. However, this could also be due to my phone’s Bluetooth settings, so I can’t solely blame the machine for this.
Another issue I have faced is with the battery life. The machine runs on a rechargeable battery, and while it does last for a decent amount of time, I have noticed that it drains quite quickly when using the Bluetooth feature.
I would highly recommend this product to any tattoo artist looking to up their game.
Great mini printer. It should be used as printer for tattoo stencils, but I use it as a printer for small paperwork. For me it is so comfortable to have it at home, when I need urgent to print few pages. It doesn’t need any ink, but you have to buy special thermal paper. The size is perfect to take it with you when you travel. Also it os quite lightweight. It comes woth a nice bag. The quality of print is surprisely nice. I was even try to print my photo – sure it not really good , but still it possible. Few times was printing some drawing picture for my child – really good quality. As a documents printer it is great. Easy to connected to the smartphone. Need to download first speciall app and then it get connected via bluetooth. Overall it my little emergency helper. I am more than happy. Highly recommend it!
The M08F Bluetooth Tattoo Stencil Machine is a game-changer for professional tattoo artists.
This A4 stencil printer combines precision and efficiency, making stencil creation seamless.
The Bluetooth connectivity enhances convenience, and the inclusion of 10 transfer papers adds value.
A reliable and professional-grade choice for artists looking to elevate their tattooing process.
This is an excellent little portable printer that’s ideal for a wide variety of jobs, not just tattoo stencils but normal prints too, and whether you use it with a phone or laptop it works straight away and provides brilliant print results without needing to refill any ink!
Along with the printer you get a travel pouch, Type-A to Type-C charge cable, a Type-C adapter, 10 A4 sheets of transfer paper, and the user guide.
The overall quality of the printer is very good, it seems well made, and it looks quite smart for what it is. With some care it seems durable enough to survive being carried around, chucked in your bag, etc.
I’m a big fan of the Phomemo app as its well-designed, easy to use, has plenty of functions and gets updated frequently. You can print documents, web pages, images, and you can also use your phone to scan a document and then print it out. It works great with this M08F Bluetooth printer, and it connects immediately every time. When you first set the printer up the app automatically detects it and with a single press of a button its installed and ready to use.
The printer will only work with A4 thermal paper, but it can print both images and text in black and white and when you insert the paper into the front of the printer it automatically feeds it through. You can use either single pieces of paper or a roll. The print speed is fairly quick but if you’re printing a full A4 image then it takes around 15 seconds to print out.
Images and text are sharp and easy to read, and the print quality is very consistent, you can see why it’s very useful to tattoo artists. I haven’t fully tested the battery life but from a full charge it should manage over 100 sheets of A4 paper before it needs charging again so it should be enough for most people’s needs.
Overall, if you’re in the market for a portable printer then I think this one would be a great choice as it works well, the print quality is decent, its from Phomemo themselves rather than a copy brand, and if you can get it for around 140 then its good value for money too. It’s a printer I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel it’s easily worth the full five stars, buy with confidence!
This mini printer can be used to print tattoo stencils or as a simple printer. Of course, if you need to print a lot of pages it will be very expensive as a thermal paper costs a bit. But let’s say if you need to print one or two pages on the go while driving between meetings, or going into a meeting it will be perfect for what. It is quite small, light and compatible ( comes with its own velvet carry bag too ) it will fit your bag without any issues.
The quality of the print is fine for text parts, but for something more complicated as pictures etc dont expect very good quality. And better use it normal printer.
Connecting it through Bluetooth is very simple just need to download the app QR code provided so you will not need even to search for it. As well can also connect it to a PC with a provided cable.
Overall it’s the perfect printer for working people on the go who go to meetings etc, and need a sheet or two printed. The paper costs quite a bit and its really quite load while printing. Other than what better stick to a normal printer.
I took this to my tattooist and asked if he could use this printer with my tattoo and give me a genuine opinion of how it works compared to his that he uses at his studio.
His printer he uses was 200 so the first thing he said was that it’s great value as it seems to work as well as his.
The transfer paper supplied with the printer worked fine the first one got trapped but he said this it was his fault. The second one went in fine and was placed on my arm as shown in photos.
He said he gave nice sharp lines the app was simple to use, I already know this as I have a mini printer using the same app and it’s great.
Connecting to it via Bluetooth is extremely simple I can only comment on using it with an apple device.
It does come with a cable and can be hooked up to a computer and be used as a normal printer if you use thermal paper.
Personally I think this is great if you need it for very small documents here and there as the thermal paper is expensive plus loading 1 sheet at a time. At work I need to do 50 page documents a few times a week this is not what it’s for.
Back to it then
It comes with a really nice soft bag for storage and on storage it’s a little wider than an a4 sheet of paper and nice and narrow this would go in a back pack without issue in fact it would even fit in some of my partners handbags.
I think this is a great device for tattoos and printing on thermal paper. It’s great value considering it’s 60 cheaper than the one at the studio and does the exact same job.
Connectivity is easy and could be used by multiple people in a tattoo studio.
I’m not sure how long the battery last as it hasn’t run out on me but I assume it lasts a good amount of time and charges simply by a usb c.
I hope this review helps you with your purchase.
a very handy Bluetooth thermal printer for a body artist, beginner or pro. Makes the job a lot more easier, faster and the tattoos looks more professional, without mistakes. The pack contains the printer, cables, 10 pcs transfer paper and a storage bag to keep all things together. Everything needed for a good start.
very easy to operate, it has only one button to switch on/off and 2 to open the printer in case there is any problem with the paper. To use the printer it needs to be connected to a device via Bluetooth and Phomemo app needs to be installed on, is free and also easy to use.
The printing is clear and quite good quality not just for tattoo paper but for any thermal paper that meets the requirements of M08F printer.
now the transfer paper, there are a few syeps to follow, if used correctly, there will be no problems with, so before placing the transfer paper into the printer, there is a backing paper (yellow) and a transpatent paper which needs to be removed for a good and better results shown in video and picture.
the printer can be connected with multiple devices, Bluetooth or wire. Is recognised by Windows at least, tried on my pc, worked perfect, no settings required for pc. It has a 1200mAh battery which last quite long, good if needed to be taken away.
apart from tattoo thermal paper, the printer works with any thermal paper that is compatible with M08F. It may look expensive, but considering that it’s inkless and it has a compact design, is a good investment for long term. No need to worry anymore that the ink is going to be dried.
The only thing that bother me is that, most of the time the printer tends to pull the paper to the left, can be observed in video.
Recommended.
This printer is very easy to get started with, despite thermal printing being completely new to me. My daughter is an artist and is getting interested in tattooing, and although she currently is happy doing freehand work, this printer is an essential piece of kit for times when you need to go with something a bit more planned.
Compact and slimline, this thermal printer from Phomemo is ideal for anyone who only prints sporadically and doesn’t want something that is going to take up too much space.
You get the printer, a USB C lead, a velvet bag, 5 sheets of thermal tattoo stencil paper and a simple set-up guide.
The printer is small about 31cm across and about 6cm width, so it will easily sit on your desk or a bookshelf without taking up much space.
The app is easy to download using the QR code, and once you have the app installed, it’s a simple case of finding the printer in your Bluetooth list, connecting, opening the app and the printer will be there. It’s simple enough to navigate and work out how to print etc.
The other method of connection is to just hook it up directly to your laptop, or a tablet using the cable provided.
I don’t use this for tattoo stencils, but just as a normal home/work printer.
From the app you can upload documents and spreadsheets to print out.
It handles basic text and spreadsheets very well, printing clear pages without any issues. The fact that you don’t need printer ink is obviously a huge bonus, however, the paper for these printers isn’t cheap, but if you’re not using it often it’s still a saving as you’re not having to chuck out dried up printer inks and replace them at cost.
It’s lightweight enough to carry around with you, however, be aware that you will also need to take spare paper unless you’re going somewhere that already has some.
Overall, it’s a great little printer and will be particularly useful for those who aren’t printing reams every day, or those who want a portable device.
So portable thermal printers are very new to me having used ink printers for 20 years and I must say, so far I’m impressed. For everyday business tasks where black and white print is all that’s required, it’s brilliant. Works seamlessly and takes up a reactor of the room of my old printer, long term, whilst thermal paper has its own costs it will still be much cheaper than replacing ink cartridges so a huge win in my eyes.
I do think there could be a more detailed manual but you get there in the end and the quality overall is very good. If you need something you can take on the go or in a small office space it’s great. If you’re looking for coloured prints you’d need to look elsewhere. The price of the unit is somewhat high imo but as these style printers are new to me I was surprised to see this was actually very good value compared with others.
So off the bat, at the end of the day this is just a normal thermal printer like others in the Phomemo range with the exception of it comes with x10 sheets of tattoo transfer paperwhich is certainly a learning curve to use and did require a YouTube search to figure out after wasting two sheets trying the common sense approach to printing haha.
Can be used wired or wireless, coming with an included USB-C to USB-A for charging and.or connecting to your computer. Also included is a USB-A female to USB-C male adapter for those who have limited or no access to old style USB ports. Internal battery last a considerable amount of time and with its compactness the unit can easily be put in a bag for a student on the go who may need to print. Like other printers from Phomemo, a canvas bag is included.
Unlike some in the range, while you could use thermal roll paper for printing you will not be able to store the paper within the printer, the M08F is more aimed toward use of sheet media and or course stencil paper.
Overall it’s an impressive printer again from Phomemo, compact, quick and high quality print outs. For those in the tattoo business it would make it easier for transferring accurate images onto a persons skin and/or for a persons custom tattoo to be applied without the need for freehand approach.
Firstly, there is no instruction for how to put the thermal paper. I tired 3 times to make it work. After that there are black pigment shattered. The operation is not as easy as I think. The noise is louder than I expected during printing. The printer itself is stylish and cool, portable and light in weight. The App is responsive to the printing command and the printer response well, too. I think it is a bit expensive.
This portable thermal A4 printer is incredibly easy to install & to use, the compact size & lightweight design makes it super convenient for travel purposes & also for use even with limited work space, the linear shape makes it much easier to store when not in use.
It requires thermal A4 paper or thermal transfer paper for creating tattoo stencils in order to print rather than standard A4 copier paper that is used with old school printers, the thermal paper is much thinner than standard copier paper, included in the box is a 10 x pack of A4 transfer paper, 2 x USB-C connection cables, a velvet drawstring storage pouch & an instruction manual.
Thermal printers are much more cost effective to use than the old traditional printers as they do not endlessly require replacement parts such as toners, ink cartridges & belts, the only part you have to replace with this printer is the paper.
The performance of the printer is as impressive as its size, it’s easy to connect to a smart phone &/or tablet via Bluetooth using the USB-C cables supplied.
There is a free app which can be used in conjunction with this printer which allows you to easily print & edit images from various sources such as social media platforms, your own photos & files, you can also scan your own images or use the free graphics which are included & feature a wide variety of different themes including holidays, decorative borders & frames, florals, insects, Japanese themes & more, new graphics will also continue to be added to the app.
The printer is practically plug & play as it’s so simple to set up & use which makes it perfect for small businesses, anyone who regularly travels & also for home office environments with limited work space.
We ordered this “Phomemo” M08F thermal stencil printer for our daughter-in-law, who has been a Tattoo artist for a good number of years, and was the perfect candidate to give an all-round opinion on the product. The overall quality is very good, with a relatively easy to use App, instant Bluetooth pairing, a continually stable connection, and great quality prints. The convenience of portability is possibly its best feature, and with a respectable battery life after a full recharge, it effortlessly copes with multiple uses throughout the day. There is one drawback though, the printer only includes 10 sheets of tattoo transfer paper, and considering the price, it would be much better value if a full pack of 100 sheets was part of the package.
As far as I can ascertain, this printer is the same as the other M08F printers from Phomemo, apart from the included pack of stencil paper, and the colour of the case. In any event, it is capable of printing on normal thermal paper in addition to the tattoo material. The printer, of moderate build quality, comes in a plain card box, together with the fold-out instruction leaflet, a USB-A to USB-C power and charging lead, plus a short USB-C adaptor lead, and a pack of A4 stencil paper. There is also a nice cloth bag to keep and transport the printer in.
The M08F is very compact. It is not much longer than the width of the A4 paper, and the cross section is small enough to be picked up with one hand. It is quite weighty for its size, though. This must be partly due to the batteries that make it truly independent.
After downloading the Phomemo app, I found it straightforward to find the printer using its Bluetooth connection, and to start using it. I did need to disconnect the iPhone before the Android phone could find the printer. The app is easy to use and has some very useful features. You can scan a scene or object using the phone’s camera and the app converts the picture to line art automatically, for example. The image can be manipulated before printing, and can be saved.
It took some digging to discover the way to use the stencil paper. The yellow backing paper must be torn off, and the tissue guard between the transfer paper and carbon paper removed. The media are then inserted into the slot at the front of the printer where they are gripped and transport starts. Sending the print causes the paper to be drawn through the machine fairly noisily but also fairly quickly.
The print quality is impressive. The printer struggled to render shaded areas (it can only simulate shading with dots from the carbon coating), but lines were reproduced faithfully.
The printer can also be used with a PC, but it needs to be connected using the lead. It can then be printed to like any other printer.
This specialised version of the M08F was more expensive than other iterations at the time I received it, but it is now priced the same, at 150 with discount and voucher. For its convenience (portability, small size, connectivity, no consumables etc), this seems a reasonable price to pay.
