The display is pretty good, albeit with slightly limited color selection. The app is alright, although a bit annoying to navigate at times. Beyond a doodle display, this can actually function as an alarm clock which I thought was nice. It adds a layer of multifunctionality!
Great idea, the app works, but limits what you can do. Would be nice if there was a lower level access to the display, like a video driver or something.

I got this for my daughter for her birthday and she loves it! There’s pre-loaded displays or you can make your own. It’s bright enough to be noticed but not so bright it’s obnoxious. The phone app is easy to use and the display is super responsive. Very cool!

It’s so cool they can create the art on their phone and have it display on the board. Even cooler it can be an alarm clock. This is a really cool device to have and would make a great gift. Overall, the UI of the app is fairly intuitive, with some… lets say translation issues? A very cool, new tech toy that’s full of retro vibes, for displaying your pixel art ambitions. I ordered the 16×16 board and it came with a the board/display, nice stand with a neat magnetic attachment, USB cable and power supply. When plugged in, it immediately went to the clock mode. The display has only 2 buttons—one for power and the other for cycling through features. And for access to the more sophisticated features, including creating your own inner Picasso, you need to have the app downloaded. But using the feature button on the board, you can cycle through the preset photos, sound-activated spectrum analyzer, and clock.
APP USE. Once the app is downloaded, you can cycle through a large collection of pre-made pixel art that are for the most part colorful and whimsical. Many additional art work can also be downloaded from the cloud onto the app. Once downloaded onto your phone, you can then upload the collection to the board. The app for creating art is simple and decently intuitive. Since you are only dealing with 16×16 grid, you don’t need anything sophisticated. All the all, the app is decently easy to operate and it’s probably manageable for anyone with just a bit more than rudimentary grasp of how to run apps in either Windows or Mac.
Now the board sits at the entrance to my house. It entertains, greets, shines, and bring color and levity to the entryway, my guests, and simply makes me happy when I come home and am greeted by this little thing. Your children may come and go but these boards will faithfully display happy messages to make you feel welcome and at home. Love these.
I love pixel art and it is nice to see the price of these display becoming more affordable now. The phone connection is simple with Bluetooth and the app is relatively simple to use. All the preset template can be loaded onto the display instantly but to make custom art is not as straightforward but quiet rewarding when you have your own one of a kind display with words and graphic.
I got the 16×16 version which does not look good if you are up close to it e.g. arms length, from across the room it lit up beautifully.
It would be a great replacement for any boring night light.
This is a fun pixel art board that works via an app, you can create messages, a clock or scoreboard and the app is very simple to use and connect with the device. The only drawback we found was with the text you can only have very limited sizes and it spans them across screens, other than than its a fun device with retro looking graphics.
This is a unique and clever product. There is a lot you can do with this. I got it for my kid so she could create stuff with a device and have it show up on the screen. While theoretically this is plug n play in that you don’t need to do much to get it up and running, there is a steep learning curve (at least for me) in understanding and using this to its full potential. I admit I’m not very tech-savvy in that I do the bare minimum with my phone and computer. If it takes a lot of time to learn and operate something (like this) I lose interest pretty quickly. My daughter could probably figure it out better than I could, but she doesn’t have the attention span to dive in and figure this out in-depth. In addition to its complexity, the screen size I have is kind of small to do anything detailed because the “pixel” lights are large. That contributes to its complexity. I dinged it a star for its complexity but it’s overall a well-made, nice-looking, unique product that is not very expensive. The one simple thing this does that wasn’t too far over my head is the scoreboard function. I’m sure I can find a way to use that.
