You never actually realise you needed one of these until you have one and then when you get one, you will never go back to not having one. So many times these have ben ideal especially when away from home to keep in the boot, whether camping, holidays or days out. Also ideal to have at home too to avoid lengthy queues at petrol stations or as I had the once to be hurried along by a rude man when attempting to do my tyres myself for the first time. That situation mad me then nervous to do it again but now, I have the safety of my own home or wherever to do it myself.
This nifty bit of kit let’s you use your own cigarette lighter and obviously battery to pump up your tyres and is very simple to use. Just stay your car, plug into the cigarette lighter, attached the valve device to the tyre, then set your pressure ( as noted in your cars manual), turn on and let it do it’s thing till it auto shuts off.
It comes with different attachments that I didn’t realise that you can use it to blow up other things too. There are a set of instructions but also the sellers page is also a good reference too to. I like the fact that everything stores neatly and tucked away in the back of the device too, o very easy to store in your boot as it’s not roo large.
In a nutshell:
Things I liked:
+ Compact and everything is self-contained, folding up nicely around the back.
+ Handy to be able to set it and forget it when it comes to your desired pressure.
+ Choice of PSI, BAR, KPA and KG/CM2 units.
+ Performance is perfectly acceptable.
Things I didn’t like:
– It’s a little bit of a pain to plug it in to the 12V socket every time you want to use it, but the cable is a decent length.
– Gets a little hot when you’re using it for a while.
– Loud!
Do I recommend it?
Yes. 20 is fine for this.
I had a compressor supplied with one of our cars and have found it invaluable so decided to order this to keep in our other car just in case it’s needed which it was recently. It works really well and connects to the 12v socket in your car. The LED readings are easy to see and you just connect the hose to the tyre valve, set the desired pressure and off it goes, automatically shutting off when it reaches it’s target. The only downside with this inflator is how loud it is but then anyone who has used one of these before from any brand will have noticed it’s normal and that it’s not a flaw.
In summary, it’s good value at 19.99, easy to use, works as it should and is probably one of the better looking ones I’ve come across. Highly recommended
I have a Goodyear branded one that costs 2 times as much but this one is more compact and performs a lot better.
If you need a tyre inflator then you can’t go wrong with this one.
For those that like to be seen and heard. If your tyre goes flat on your way to the exclusive party, this is the inflator for you. Not only will it quickly get you back on the road, it will make sure that everyone knows it’s you while doing so. If inflating in BAR or PSI was last season, you’ve also got options for KPA and KG/ CM.
There are four attachments for the accessory conscious, which will inflate tyres, balls, air mattresses, and any other inflatable items that can accept one of the nozzles. The pump will read your current pressure; then you set where you want it to go, turn it on, and it will inflate to the target pressure before turning itself off again. I went from 1.87 BAR to 2.2 in a couple of minutes, with about ten minutes effort altogether.
The ignition doesn’t even need to be turned on, the 12V will power it as long as the doors are unlocked. It all wraps up fairly neatly in the case and has a lengthy three metre cord, which should be able to reach from the 12V socket on even the longest vehicles.
This is a good essential item for any vehicle, and well-priced.
This is a useful inflator to keep in the car boot as you never know when you might need to inflate a tyre in an emergency.
The unit comes with adaptors to inflate other things like bike tyres and footballs though no where to store them in/on also would have liked a storage bag to keep it protected in the boot, I do like the onboard cable storage however.
It has a nice long cable which reaches to each wheel on the car and even the spare in the boot, I tried it inflating one of the car tyres which needed a top up, it was at 27 psi and needed inflating to 32 psi which took less than 30 seconds which I thought wasn’t bad the only other thing was the onboard gauge measured 2 psi lower than my own gauge so keep that in mind if you don’t have another gauge to check.
As another review mentions the light is a bit pointless as it only comes on when inflating and if you are trying to use it in the dark you need a light to actually connect the adapter to the tyre before it starts, For the cost I do recommend it.
Pros:-
1) The 12V lead is long enough to allow it to reach both wheels on one side of the car.
2) The ability to preset the pressure is very useful. Pressure can be set to 0.5 psi increments.
3) The air hose and 12V cable can be stored within the pump, making it compact and easy to carry around.
4) The display is backlit all the time that the pump is plugged in to a 12V supply. This makes it easier to read in the dark.
Cons:-
1) Although it has an LED light, the light only comes on when the pump is running. This is not much help when attaching the air hose to the tyre. It would be better if it had its own switch, or even if it was on all the time that the 12V lead was connected to the power supply.
2) The air hose was too short to reach the tyre valve on my 16 inch wheels if the valve was at the top of the wheel. This meant I had to either hang the pump off the valve, support it by hand, or move the car to get the valve at the bottom of the wheel. None of these are ideal.
3) The display is quite small and difficult to read, especially the units indication.
Overall, this pump has a number of limitations, but is reasonable value for money.
