This is my 4th stapler Iv brought over the last few years and by far the best due to be easy to load comfy to hold and stapled into wooden fence with ease.Brilliant purchase.

When so many cheaper staplers exist what drove me to spending a little more on this Tacwise model and what have I liked so far?

    # Tacwise is a really well known brand.
    # Tacwise also make the most popular staples ensuring guaranteed compatibility.
    # It has a manual you can actually read and a product website you can actually visit unlike so many of the cheap clones.
    # It lists what staples or pins it needs right there on the stapler. I find it mind boggling but you would be amazed when you actually look into it how many staplers don’t say what stock they use.
    # You load the stock from the underneath which is much easier and quicker.
    # It has a belt clip which is a small feature but when you are crawling around on the floor it really helps.
    # I don’t know how but its both more powerful than the Stanley model I am replacing but also considerably easier to use even at max power setting.
    # It is lightweight but not cheap feeling i.e. they clearly chose premium materials to make it lighter.
    # Changing the impact power adjuster lever takes a split second compared to the screw type which is impractical to do on the fly.
    # I have not used the removable margin edge adjuster yet but it seems so obvious a feature I don’t know why no one else has it.

Top tip. This model Tacwise 1764 Z4-140 uses heavier stock than the Z5 model which is a lighter weight stapler for upholstery etc. I used this Z4 for carpets which it easily handled.

This feels like a professional “tool for a lifetime” and is absolutely worth the little extra it costs.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMax size is type 140, 8mm according to leaflet in the package. For some reason all these staplers seem to look and sound the same. This one fires staples well and was a reasonable price. Sturdiness is a question long-term as part is made of plastic. Having said that it feels sturdy. I bought an assortment pack of staples and although they are type 140 most are too big. You would have thought that staple size would be an upfront specification but only when I received the item could I find the details.

    1. Weight – super light
    2. Strong Metal and Aluminum – only where needed
    3. Warmer than metal plastic handle areas – super for cold days
    4. Ergonomic
    5. Smaller in comparison to other I had – easy to reach places
    6. Easy to press – in comparison to other brands I had
    7. 3 year Warranty for Factory Defects
    8. PRICE

    NOTE: 8mm maximum height – not 10mm not 14mm

Dims: width is approx 10.5-10.7mm identical to Arrow T50 or Tackwise 140

I used this to staple DPM to a timber shuttering frame and it worked ok. I’m not 100% sure about it’s durability as it’s made of plastic, but for the price it’s ok and it did the job fine. You need to hold the gun slightly clear of the surface you’re stapling or it doesn’t fire the staple. Once I realised that it worked well.

Good sturdy stapler for the more heavier weight use – not too little, not too much. The right size for me. I couldn’t stop stapling things! Had to buy more staples. I’ve (re)upholstered most things here that stand still. EASY to use.
I made, yes, made my own footstool, – this stapler was just the job.

Made the mistake of buying the cheaper rolson one which kep jamming sent it back and got this instead
Already had a tacwise one which takes the curved staples for coaxial cables etc which I have mad for many years. This one is easy to operate with enough power to drive the staples in even into hard wood.
    Would recommend

This feels like a professional tool. It fires the staples in very hard and Its so easy to load / reload . The side window is a neat idea that lets you check that the saples are present or empty. I’ve used it a lot recently and it hasn’t jammed yet.

Bought this to do a bit of upholstery work on some old dining room chairs. Comes well packaged with staples included. The staple gun itself also has a safety lock on, is easy to load and very easy to use. Although you do have to apply a bit of pressure to make sure the staple goes where it is supposed to, but overall an essential piece of kit to have of you’re doing any DIY upholstery.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersJust did a quick 3 shot test into a piece of plywood and the staples went in OK.

Bought for re-doing a cat tree, so should be fine with softwer wood.

One thing to note is double check the sizes and codes of replacement staples.

before buying this I got some 14mm TacWise staples to use in my old staple gun but it had gone a bit rusty and wouldn`t work, so I ordered this to use those 2000 staples with….

    They did not fit !

So it was cheaper just to order more staples that were he correct size – this specific model, the Z1-140, only accepts 6-8mm staples.

To use larger ones you need a different model, it`s all there in the small print but I expected it to manage with any size staples.

Double check your staple sizes and avoid the mistake I made !

It is good for the money, it doesn’t jam often, its light, it is all in all well designed but think really carefully about the size of the job. IT wont go through much fabric, the staples are good for a small upholstery job but not a big one or materials tht are harder or thicker.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this to fix velcro onto vintage speaker grills ..it was powerfull enough to put the staples into the wood of the grill however it was not quite up to the job of putting the staples all the way in on the speaker fronts them selves and I found I had to lightly knock in the last couple of mm of staple into the speaker wood so the Velcro was permanently fixed..it I did do about half of them the other half I had to carefully knock in with a small hammer..still did the job and my speaker grill are securely fixed but can be easily pried off…they will probably sit on a shelf for the next couple of years until I find something else to use them on ..lol

Works well once I managed to unlock it. The mechanism had shifted slightly and I had to use a pin to pull it back to the correct position while simultaneously unlocking it. This means I can’t put it in the locked position due to worry of it getting stuck again. I also accidentally ordered the wrong staples due to them being advertised with the gu

Great stapler and the staples it comes with are amazing but you don’t get too many. Easy to load, handle and use. The only thing I would say it that it has got jammed quite a lot after using it many times. Although for the price its good.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI bought this specifically to repair a dining chair to re staple the backing on, did a great job, so very pleased especially as I managed to repair the chair for just over ten pounds a new chair would have cost considerably more. I am sure I will find more use for this gun.
on the down side and not a deal breaker the handle lock doesn’t work to well so left in the unlock position.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI needed a device for my crafting and light DIY projects which was easy to hold and squeeze. This one fits the bill. It is light and I can use it throughout my projects without my hands getting tired. If there is any negative at all, it can misfire when low on staples in the barrel (easy to manage). All in all a very good product for the money.

I brought some LED strip lights and the adhesive on the lights were awful as they kept falling down from underneath my cabinet. I brought this staple gun to attach them more securely to the unit. It works perfectly and probably one of the best staple guns i have used. The staples are really easy to load into the gun and it also incorporates a locking device to lock the handle down and prevent use (handy when you have children around).

    Overall very useful product.

Good product, light weight and in some ways that is deceptive – as some people might believe it is not heavy duty enough to do a good job, but so far I have used this to upholster and do many other small jobs and had no issues. I have used tacwise products before and will continue to do so
