used for a small roofing job – has a slightly strange feel in use due to the “linear actuation” (using a cheapo all-metal unit before which gave up the ghost), needs a bit of getting used to but feels like a quiality product. Useful belt clip.

To replace a gun that had worked for 15 years, this is the same brand so hoping it will last the same or better. It’s improved over its predecessor by having an easier handle function, comfier to grip and use, simple loading tray and easy to use power gauge on the side.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersGreat staple gun, easy to use.

Worth noting that the recommended additional purchase of a packet of staples (Tacwise 140 Series Assorted Staples for Staple Gun 6 to 14mm) is a completely inappropriate suggestion as it contains a real mix of staples sizes and only 1/6 to 1/8 are useable in this gun…what a waste of money!

What’s not to like? It feels quite lightweight but it’s well-built and very powerful. Obviously more solid materials and longer staples require you to push down hard in order for staples to go all the way in, but that’s physics for you. Stapling is always going to be a physical activity – if you don’t have the strength then consider an electric unit or something with a bit more weight behind it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersExcellent tool for upholstery task. I quickly refurbished my dining chair using this. Was easy to use. I used both hands to keep it aligned and to generate the required force. Had no problem loading it with staples. It came with staples and there were sufficient for the project but if you wanted to cover more than two chair seats I would recommend buying additional staples.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBought this to replace a years-old all-metal stapler that stopped working. The gun comes in a strong plastic bubble pack that can be prised open and re-used. So far I have used the tool for fixing plastic netting to fence panels. A certain amount of hand pressure is needed to operate it, but I was expecting this and in fact it requires a little bit less than I was used to with my old one. The staples seem to go in further, too. The orange colour make it easy to spot when you leave it laying around.

I must agree with previous reviewers that the locking lever is flimsy, it required quite a hard push to get it into position and I really was afraid of breaking it. My solution: I leave it unlocked. It is also true that the operating lever does not open quite fully enough to fire the next staple, but I have developed a technique of either pushing it up with the thumb of the hand holding the gun, or flicking it up with the fingers of my free hand. It’s a bit of a workaround, and I would tather not have to do it, but it has become so automatic that I hardly notice I’m doing it. My hands are large, so handling the stapler is not a problem for me, though I imagine anyone with small hands might find operating it less easy.

I have read reviews and answers on this and similar Tacwise models which state that the staple are standard size, and I would dispute that. The d.i.y. store ones I used in my old stapler are a fraction too wide to fit this one, so I am going to have to throw away those I have left and buy the Tacwise ones. UPDATE: I have since found that the ones for Wickes staple guns fit this Tacwise model.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersPretty good, but not perfect.
    SUPER USEFUL for DIY stuff.

    PROS:
    It’s lightweight.
Has plenty of punch, so the staples go in very well. Some woods are hard enough to prevent the staple going in all the way.
I’ve gone through a 1200 pack of staples and it still looks and works like new.
I was originally looking at getting some similar nice ones from Dewalt and Milwaukee, but both were not easy to find in Europe.
Super easy to put more tacks in. And the slider thing is connected so it doesn’t get lost like on some other staplers.

    CONS:
The pocket clip is too short. It’s great to have, but does not secure the device very well to the belt or pocket. It feels like it could very easily fall off.
The lock is very flimsy. It doesn’t go to the locked position very easily (the handle has to be in the exact correct position) and it can unlock very easily.
Requires a decent amount of hand force to use, which is understandable because you need to put energy in to get energy out, but it means this probably won’t be easy to use for the elderly, where I guess an electric staple gun might be a better option.

    Conclusion:
Better than any other one I could easily get hold of, and I’m happy with it until I find something better.

Bought to reupholster some chairs after a cheap one gave up after one seat. This is definately far more powerful than the cheap ones (even on min power) and easier to use. So far not one staple jam! It’s also remarkably lightweight. Not had a lot of use so far so can’t comment on durability but although made of plastic certainly feels well made. Only the power adjuster feels a bit flimsy, hence four stars, but it works fine.
