The Microsoft equivalent adapters, were discontinued many years ago, so was very happy to have the opportunity to try this. The products come tidily packed, all wrapped in plastic.
I took out my old Xbox One X, and began connecting things. The Kinect plugs into a small box, with one wire connecting to power, the other, a data cable to the Xbox. I’ve included the diagram in the listing, for clarity.
Thankfully, it works a treat! I am always going to be weary about plugs, so will give this plenty of monitoring room, when in use, and will be disconnected when not in use. Glad to be able to play my old Kinect games, and to get some exercise in..! 🙂
You cant buy the OEM original version of this anymore, and if you rely on it (I use a Kinect 2 for Windows hello), and buy a Kinect used then often they have no PSU (as the original use for them didn’t need one) then you really need a PSU.
This is a fine replacement, it works like the original, and Ive had no issues with it dropping out or anything like that.
Connects fine with no additional driver needed in Windows 11 (other than the Kinect SDK and Drivers which you do need – theres a manual included explaining this).
Overall no complaints, it works, it feels like itll last and it does the job.
