Love baking … not done a lot of it of late due to advancing years and aching joints .. so the purchase of a mixer was a logical choice. First try was a nightmare, broken hinge, second go was a triumph. Mixer arrived, this time undamaged, and it was simple to use, easy to operate and the resulting cake was a delight to consume.
I’ve since made numerous cakes and the odd batch of Rock Buns, which my Diabetic Nurse frowns upon … but such is the life of a cake lover/baker … 😉
This is quite a large mixer so not the lightest . Bowl is very large but light so ideal for bread making maybe too big for everyday cake making . Nice quiet machine and the suction feet are so secure on the worktop there’s no movement 10/10 overall
Works great only made a 11in Christmas cake and it had no problem my old K W was a great product it did last 50 years hope this will do the same.
Using it for more then a year now for Indian style dough on daily basis. Quite good product, last one broke down in a year so purchased extra warranty but going good so far. Still looks new and works perfectly fine. 5 stars
Stylish looking product with useful tools. Good sized mixing bowl and selection of 3 different mixers. Since using this for my sponge cakes they have been much lighter than times I mixed by hand. Spatula included and very useful lid with small top access so you can add ingredients, which means my kitchen doesn’t get covered in flour or icing sugar dust when the mixer is on. Good range of settings for cookery needs from pulse setting to level 6. Another big plus are the suction pads which keep the mixer stable when it’s on. Like the stylish cream colour which fits most kitchens dcor. Great product.
Very pleased with the mixer, allows me to make double the amount that I need, so I can do things quicker, the machine isn’t too loud and easy to clean, definitely considering buying another one for my business
As a professional chef starting my own little bakery business, this has been instrumental in what I’ve been doing. I’ve used it constantly for 3 months now, making pastry’s, breads, meringue etc and it hasn’t missed a beat! Easy to clean with a generous size mixing bowl!! A couple of reviews complained about having to scrape down the side of the bowl, I’ve not used a mixer where you didn’t have to! Proberly have to do less with this. The suction cups on the bottom are great at keeping it in place
Yes it has some limitations, but that’s down to over filling the mixing bowl…for the money, you can’t go wrong!!
Coming from a 7 year old Tefal mixer, this thing is a joy to use.
First things first – the good:
– this is fairly light, so is easy to put away and get back out
– the suction cups underneath are crazy good…it does not move an inch
– it’s pretty low on the ‘noise’ side of things. You couldn’t have a conversation with my old mixer going, but this is much quieter which is nice
– the included attachments seem good quality. Can’t speak to the long term durability though
– the bowl size is huge. I could easily mix enough cake batter in one go for an 8 layer cake if I wanted to
– the splash guard is good and fits well
Now for the ‘not so good…but not bad’:
– others have mentioned that the attachments don’t go all the way to the bottom (or sides). This is true. Although this means the bowl won’t get scratched, it also means you’re left with more unmixed ingredients than I’d like. The gap could easily be less, however at this price range I feel this is acceptable
– the hinge / release mechanism is a little…crunchy. The point where it locks makes an awful clunky, crunchy noise. I’m sure it’s fine, but it did take me by surprise
Overall I’m really happy with this mixer. Any “issues” other commenters have mentioned are likely down to the price bracket this mixer falls into. If this was the price of a KitchenAid then their issues would be valid, but not at the price this mixer is.
