My fault, but I got this without really checking, I had to get a USBC to Mini USB adapter but now working as it should, perfect for the job needed

You need to know what you’re doing in order to use this kit, but chances are if you’re shopping for one you already have a good idea.

I’d recommend checking your car first to see whether there’s a suitable grommet etc that you can poke through if wiring direct to the battery.

Otherwise, it seems to work how I’d expect.

This hardwire kit is now safely fitted to my car and is doing a great job of recording once I leave the vehicle, and as I sometimes don’t drive my car for a few days I don’t have any worries of the battery in the car depleting too much as it has an auto shut off feature. I have thought about adding a solar trickle charger to the car battery and this way I think I might just have constant recording while my car is on the drive – a test for another time.

Instructions are easy to follow and the fitting is fiddly trying to tuck the wires out of sight but that is what it is!

Comes with a few different fuse adapters, so should suit all cars I think – happy to recommend, good bit of kit.

I have a dashcam with a USB-C charging port and I ordered this kit to finally free up the cigarette port and be able to use the 24h parking surveillance mode.

It’s a simple kit that contains typical items. You get the connecting cable with a USB-C plug at one end and a two cable solution at the other – the power cable and the ground cable. The small black box in the middle is to prevent the battery from discharging completely. It will cut off power to the camera, leaving enough battery juice to start the car and trigger the alternator.
You also get fuse connectors, some cable ties and a trim pry tool. Basically all you need to do the work yourself.

I haven’t fitted it yet, only checked if it’s working, and it does the job fine. All cables are good quality and of sufficient length. Considering the price of 18, I’m happy to recommend it.

Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality kit but not suitable for parking mode, price ok

Venturing into the world of dashcam installation, I opted for this hardwire kit, hoping it would offer a seamless solution for integrating a dashcam into my vehicle. My expectations were not only met but exceeded, as the kit came equipped with all the essentials needed for a straightforward and efficient setup.

    Kit Contents & Quality:
Included in the package are a USB C hardwire voltage transformer, cable ties, interchangeable fuse connectors, cable clips, and a trim pry tool. Each component boasted impressive quality; the cables felt durable and well-made, suggesting longevity and reliability. The inclusion of spade connectors and a fuse adds to the kit’s comprehensive nature, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the task at hand.

    Installation Ease:
The thoughtful inclusion of cable clips and a trim pry tool significantly facilitated the installation process. These tools, often overlooked in similar kits, proved invaluable in achieving a neat and professional-looking setup. Testing the kit before reassembling the trim, I found the mini spade connector to function flawlessly, a testament to the kit’s design and compatibility with vehicle electrical systems.

    Functionality & Limitations:
The kit excels in its primary function, providing a reliable power source for the dashcam. The low voltage detection feature is a notable addition, offering peace of mind by helping to preserve the vehicle’s battery life. However, it’s worth noting that the kit is designed for basic dashcam functionality, supporting only ground and switched power. For those requiring a parking mode feature, which necessitates constant power, this kit might fall short as it lacks the necessary cabling for such setups.

    Conclusion:
This dashcam hardwire kit stands out for its completeness, quality, and ease of use. It caters superbly to the needs of DIY enthusiasts looking to integrate a dashcam without relying on professional installation services. While it may not accommodate advanced features like parking mode due to its two-cable configuration, its efficiency, low voltage protection, and overall value make it an excellent choice for standard hardwiring needs. Whether you’re a seasoned installer or a newcomer to car DIY projects, this kit provides everything required to achieve a clean, reliable dashcam setup.

I ordered this set as I wanted to hardwire my dashcam and found this set to have everything you need. The set contains the USB C hardwire voltage transformer, cable ties and interchangable fuse connectors.

I found the cable to be well made and of food quality, in addition the spade connectors and included fuse good too. There are some handy cable clips and trim pry tool which aid with the installation.

The kit worked very well as I tested it before putting my trim back together and the I used the mini spade connector which works brilliantly. One thing to mention is if you need cabling that supports parking mode then this kit cannot as it only has 2 cables ground and switched power. You would need a different kit, however this does have low voltage detection which can help preserve your battery.

Overall it’s a excellent kit containing everything you need to hardwire.

Simple device but it should work well. Honestly I’ve yet to fit it in my new car, just haven’t gotten around to it yet, but I have tested just wiring it into the fusebox and running the dashcam and it’s fine.

I have a Viofo dashcam which runs on a capacitor rather than an internal battery and it powers just fine. There’s plenty of cable to situate your dashcam anywhere you please in the cabin. The right angled piggyback fuse adapters are a nice addition. They’re pretty low profile and with a little positioning my cabin fuse box cover fit fine and it’s quite tight in there.

    Not bad for the money.
