Aceshop Charging Dock Station for Quest 3 with RGB Light
Aceshop Charging Dock Station for Quest 3 with RGB Light, Charging Stand for Meta Quest 3 Magnetic Charging Stand for Quest 3 Fast Charging VR Charging Dock for Quest 3 with 2 Rechargeable Batteries
This charging dock station has simplified my charging routine and decluttered my space. The RGB light adds a fun and stylish touch to my setup, while the magnetic feature ensures a secure connection for my devices. The included rechargeable batteries provide extra power for extended gaming sessions. While the design could be sleeker for a more modern look, it’s functional and practical for organizing and charging my devices. Overall, it’s a great addition to any gaming setup for Meta Quest 3 owners.
The Meta Quest 3 is a brilliant versatile virtual reality headset at a competitive price, but the branded accessories are arguably overpriced for what they are. This is where the aftermarket comes in. This ACESHOP Charging Dock Station to all intents and purposes is designed as a suitable alternative to the Meta 3 official charging dock currently priced at around 129, but at a fraction of the cost.
This ACESHOP looks and feels the part, albeit a slightly lighter and brighter shade of white than the Meta 3 headset and controllers. Overall quality appears fine. This charging station facilitates horizontal orientation of headset rather than the side orientation (to gain access to side USB charge point). It was a puzzle how this can be achieved, and learnt that there is also a charging point at the bottom of the Quest 3 (three dots) that connects with the three pins locating within this charging dock station. Found that a little care needs to be taken when placing the Quest 3 on the station, to ensure that connection is made — you will know when this is correct as a LED will light on front right of Quest 3.
The controllers require the provided rechargeable batteries, USB adapters, and fitments to be used. USB adapters was a little tricky to insert; found in the end these were best fitted to the included rechargeable batteries first. Then to fit the included replacement battery cover, a metal tool is included to align if required. The controller USB adapters really need to be fixed firmly, otherwise the powerful magnets will attach and remove to the charging dock. The controllers neatly fit into the charging point, and charging function works well with stock unmodified controllers.
For Meta 3 users who use controller wrist straps, presents challenges when using a charging dock such as this. The silicone covers generally used on these wrist straps needs to be removed to fit controllers in the dock each time, and the silicone battery cover would need to be cut off the wrist strap to allow room for the battery sensor points. Alternatively, the controller batteries tend to last far longer than the headset, months even, so this dock can simply be used as a stowage point for controllers, leaving it to charge the headset.
There is a RGB lighting display, but this appears purely decorative. However, pleased that this can be switched off at a touch of a button, and this dock memorises your choice. There are LED lights to indicate charging (cycles Blue/Green), charged (Green). Great ergonomics here, albeit feel dock would benefit from an overall on/off switch.
The few minor points mentioned, does not detract from an overall 5 star recommend.
