This is a perfect replacement for the Nintendo switch dock.
I’ve played Totk using this device and I haven’t noticed any lag at all and Totk pushes the switch to its limits.
If you want to use a HDMI screen and a couple of USB A sockets then great – It has one USB C out – so you loose one to connect but still have one.
HDMI is good and fast – no lag
Shame it does not have 2 x USB C out.
Still a good device tho

In a market saturated with USB C hubs, the BENFEI 5-in-1 USB C Hub stands out for its impeccable build quality, versatile connectivity options, and broad device compatibility. Especially for me as I am a Mac enthusiast 😉
I teach for a living and I am unfortunate enough to have one of the macbooks where Apple decided an HDMI port was an unjustifiable luxury. As such, I have a lot of use for these kind of hubs and I am constantly forgetting them after a lecture and finding them gone when I return to the lecture room. This is ideal as a disposable device – cheap enough that it doesn’t sting, but you do have to deal with the compromises. It feels flimsy, for example, but if you’re just losing them constantly that’s not a big deal. I haven’t actually had any issue where the lightness of the build is mapped to actual degradation of quality, but that’s just because I’ve never owned one of them long enough for it to be an issue.
I use this as an extension to my Surface Pro to extend the USB ports and to have a Hub where I can easily swap out USB Memory sticks, transfer files, etc. Its a simple plug n play device that can also charge your devices.
It is however limited by its 30hz refresh rate for the HDMI output, its incredibly sluggish and noticeable on a larger screen. Does not do too well with a large Television or Projector, the refresh rate really needs to be 60hz or above. However could work as an extension to your desk top to view family photos or to provide that perfect presentation.
All in all its a neat little very well priced gadge
This is ideal as a laptop dock connection. Just be aware of what it actually provides and requires.
The HDMI port works great – provided your device supports video-out via that USB C port, e.g. thunderbolt port. It won’t work on any old USB C port to provide video out. For example my laptop works fine but my desktop doesn’t.
The USB hub functionality is fine – I connected a USB 3 memory stick and it could happily transfer at 150MB/sec which is the same speed it would transfer when directly connected to the computer. But be warned – there is only one USB 3 port, the other two are USB 2 so really only there for keyboard and mouse. The USB C port as it says is there for power delivery only and isn’t a functional USB C port.
Unlike many they’ve been honest in their list of this product – and it does exactly what it says on the listing. Just read the listing with care and make sure it will do what you need. I’d prefer it if they made it a little clearer in the title, but at least it is all called out in the description.
The hub is small, feels nice to the touch having a solid metal case and good braded cable back to the computer. Overall a nice looking and functional product.
