Nice light weight and comfortable to wear. Huge zips on each leg with press studs make it easy to get them on and off without removing footwear. The zips and press studs can also be used to aid ventilation.

Bought these in a size M 30/L, expecting them to be a 30in leg. They are in fact size M 29 short. Why the 2 different sizes on the tag? So no good, had to return them for a refund as they were non available in my size.

Bought these before, they are waterproof and easy to get on and off. The side zips allowing you to quickly put them on especially when outdoors without having to worry about struggling to get on over boots.

I wore these recently to the Head of the Charles in Boston. The Saturday was really wet and these kept me snug and dry. I like the fact you can unzip / unclip the legs. All in all could not be happier with them.

I’ve had waterproof trousers before but they’ve always been a bit of a pain. I’ve always been conscious of wearing them because they were stiff, noisy or both. I forget I’m wearing these, which is exactly what you want.

I live in Yorkshire and enjoy yomping about on t’moors. No matter what the weather, I can yomp in total dryness (well, the bit covered by these trousers anyway). These were an excellent purchase. I’m really pleased with them.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHad a pair of these for 4 years working as a sign erector up and down scaffolding in all kinds of weather scraping them on screws and nails and whathaveyou. They were excellent. When i eventually abused them to the point of destruction (btw you can repair them quite easily) i immediately went and purchased another pair. That should tell you everything. If you are just walkers (yes i take that lightly) then they will last you a lifetime.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought these for a long distance trek along the SW coastal path. They have dual zips on both legs so can be opened up to put on over boots or zipped down for ventilation.

In most rainy conditions they didn’t their job and kept the rain out. However in one “deluge” on the way into Newquay, the combination of strong wind and heavy rain was too much . My trousers underneath got damp.

Generally they are comfortable but again not fully breathable and my legs did sweat somewhat when walking hard and so I found they pulled a bit especially when walking uphill.

I don’t believe it is possible to make overtrousers that are truly waterproof in all conditions and are fully breathable but these are a pretty good design for all but really extreme rain.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHaving already owned a pair of non Berghaus overtrousers,it was a bit of a faff getting them on and off, quickly when it was pouring with rain
These are easy to unzip and put over my walking boots. Very comfortable to wear with the elasticated waist and drawcord system (if required)
Keeps you dry and warm with a great venting system with the upper zip.Very little noise I heard while walking in them
I bought the medium waist and short (29inch leg) so a great fit for me.
The over trousers are ideal for walking out and about, the commute to work (I hate working in damp trousers.) and many other practical uses

Would have like to have seen a small stow bag to put them in but not a big issue.Overall well worth the money and a great purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have just finished walking a very wet West Highland Way in these Berghaus Deluge waterproof over trousers, and they are appropriately named because it rained a Deluge for the most part of our 6 day adventure and I remained completely dry underneath. I was also wearing the Berghaus Deluge waterproof shell jacket which I would also recommend for all the same reasons. These products are made to a very high quality, are comfortable yet feel fairly rugged. Just remember, these are only waterproofs, so you may need some extra layers underneath for warmth, but I found a simple tracksuit bottom and a double layer of long sleeve T shirts was more than enough to keep me warm during early October in Scotland. One other final bonus is the way you can unzip the sides from the bottom to get them on or off with boots still on. There are no pocket slots, but there is another side zip each side which unzips from the top that allows you to get to your to your pockets underneath although I didn’t use these as I kept items such as map, phone etc.. in the jacket pockets. All in all I would highly recommend this product so you need look no further.

These trousers have a nice tidy look to them, they are easy to put on over boots due to the long zips, and are easy to clean the mud off afterwards. The only slight downside is that they don’t have pockets, and you have to undo the zips at the top slightly to get into the pockets of your trousers underneath them. It would be nice if they had separate zips for access. I dare say they will need to be reproofed now and then to keep the waterproofness.

This is my third pair of waterproof overtrousers. The first pair, mountain hardware, were excellent, bout wore out around the crotch after two years of regular use, the second pair were lightweight marmot gear, probably ideal if you are up a mountain with a heavy pack every so often, but too wimpy for regular use (they failed after a little over a year of reglar use walking dogs for about an hour a day, when wet, which is about half the time here, and tore at the sight of a gorse bush).

Consequently I was on the lookout for something that was either very hardwearing but breathable, or cheap and easily replaceable. So far these have proved to be tough, breathable and modestly priced. Although they are not as quiet as past overtrousers, this is no big deal, as I am not in the business of creeping around the place trying not to be heard. They do not have a top zipper on the leg so you can’t access your trouser pockets so easily, and the poppers over the top of the zip are a bit annoying when you are putting them on, as in it take as a few seconds longer to get them on, but then this does provide extra waterproofing.

These win on price alone. The toughness is a bonus, but I have not yet had them long enough to report on durability. There is nothing quite as bad as returning to the office after a wet walk with a large wet patch around your crotch thanks to substandard gear failing on you… Hopefull that won’t be the case with these

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI use reviews to help me decide on purchases and in the past many of the reviews have not been so acurate so i was not confident how these would perform in reality.

First test i used them over a pair of chinos so you can see if they leak. I went outside in one of the many typhoons we have in japan. after 10 minutes i came back in and completely dry. passed first test!

Second test i rode my motorcycle in the rain, which is the same as being sprayed with a hose pipe. once again after 30 minutes no leaks or water penetration. passed second test.

Third test up in the mountains in heavy rain hiking, had boots with spats on and these trousers over the top. Dry as a bone! Protection wise i can say that my pair are working 100% as promised and advertised.

    Usability:

Brilliant, the zip on the leg lets you access pockets and or boots and also lets you take them off so easy with boots on. Also it is useful for airing them to stop them getting moldy or stinky.

Not sure if i was lucky with my particular pair but i am telling the wife to get some next.
