I grew up in the age of really bad third party controllers. I remember rolling up to a friend’s house and being stuck with an off brand controller that barely functioned. These were dark days and they persisted well into the 360/PS3 era. When I had the opportunity to give this a try I was very dubious. However, I have to say, right of the bat, THIS IS GREAT. The build quality is actually fantastic. It feels good in the hand. Buttons, triggers, and sticks feel great. There isn’t a cheap, flimsy vibe at all. In fact, in the hand it feels just as good as an official Series X gamepad. No, really. It does. Being able to swap sticks, set dead stops on the triggers, and use the paddles is great. So, what’s the issue? Well, connecting the thing is… tricky. I have used it on the Switch and my phone/PC. How did I connect it? I have no idea. Some combination of plugging it in and holding down buttons until it works. I seem to have to go through these every time I swap devices. It’s odd… You could do the intelligent thing and keep the manual around for reference. I didn’t do that. So maybe that’s on me. Either way. The controller performs flawlessly and feels good. It’s not exactly cheap but it doesn’t feel cheap either. Again, I expected way less and I was nothing but pleasantly surprised.
Thumbsticks have 0 drift, sticks feel great (use the medium one), back buttons are great, wish the back ones were lower and the top ones were clickier though. Trigger stops are solid especially when paired with deadzone software. Abxy is fine, similar to a stock xbox controller. Dpad is passable, don’t buy this if you play a ton of fighting games though, the 8 way wobbles a bit.
Software isn’t the easiest to use, especially due to rough translation, but the features inside the software make up for it. Mapping buttons is super easy, make sure to 0 your stick deadzones too. Didn’t mess around with macros. I really wish they had a way to disable gyro, because it messed up the only non steam game I played by registering the gyro and sticks weirdly. Idk whats up with that.
On pc, this is a great controller for pretty much everything. Perfect for comp play or casual. This is by far the best controller in this price range for pc and it’s not even close. Only way to beat this is going custom and spending upwards of $250. Pick this controller up now.
