I’ve bought this case earlier during the year and I didn’t use it until some months later.
What do I think of the case? The good, the bad and the ugly
The good side of this
PC case is small, compact and an overall good pc case to use if you are looking to not take that much space.
RGB is a ++ as it makes the case look colourful
It is easier to carry around and is less heavy when completely built as if you had a bigger case.
It is pretty easy to assemble and dissemble if you were to make more space for your component as parts of the case is crystallite, glass panels which is very easy to take off.
The bad:
Despite the good that i have said about it that is where it brings it down. Since it is a small case it outputs more noise and it is pretty loud, the air it pushes out is alot and can be heard quite well. Bigger cases don’t usually have that issue or if that does it doesn’t do it as bad as this.
Components are an issue sometimes as there isn’t enough space for components sometimes. Everything is tight and there is not enough room for the certain components such as gpu’s, fans and more as i had to take out some components to actually make my pc work.
Size of the overall case for many wouldn’t be good at all as there is a lot to fit and there will be complications as i myself had complications during the process of building. I made the mistake of getting a small case as i couldn’t use my parts to the fullest. I have them lying around which I don’t like.
Overall the case is both good and bad, it’s just average. I am 50/50 on it so in terms of recommending it and not recommending it is at 50. If small cases are your thing then go for it but do beware that you may face some issues while building and it will be harder to build with this case.
As you should expect with a case that’s mostly solid glass, it has terrible airflow and the included fans are inadequate for the position they’re in.
The system I built in this is admittedly probably too warm for it, having a 5950X and a 3080Ti, but the fans this case comes with are far too weak to be good intake fans. In my opinion, either put these two fans in the bottom as intakes, or populate all the fan slots with some higher airflow ones to compensate for the bad intakes and exhausts. I’ve been using this case without the front and top glass for a while now to help those fans out a little while I search for better ones.
Corsair should seriously consider releasing the H100i CAPELLIX fans as their own item, they’re high pressure, high RPM and have 8 RGB LED’s on them.
Outside of all that complaining, this is a beautiful case, and a good one to work in too. It fits my 1000w power supply nicely while still leaving me room to put my hard drives in, which is a serious advantage of having the drive cages in the back of the case instead of underneath. Both of the drive cages are removable if you need more cable management room.
The cable holes through to the front side are placed well, the included RGB controller for the fans is a nice touch, as is the magnetic fan grills. Overall, I’m happy, I just wish Corsair included some better fans, or made their good ones easier to get hold of.
I have the full size ATX case the big brother to this one and wanted to do a micro atx build so I thought I’d try this case. Just as good looking as the big brother but a lot smaller. This case is easy to work with even with my sausage fingers and large hands. If your looking for something to look good this is the case for you! Cable management is good. Comes with everything you need from a case including spare/replacement screws for the glass panel if you wanted Allen bolts rather than thumb screws to keep your little people out of it and saves them trying to liquid cool it for you If your unsure don’t be it’s a great case and I’ll be looking at buying another one soon along with its bigger brother. (You can never have enough PCs) have a great day and stay positive thanks for reading
For the most part, I’m extremely pleased with this case. However, I can’t help but bemoan the laziness that’s gone into the white version – it’s basically the panels only that are white, everything else – screws, PCI slot covers, rubber grommets, fan filters, etc. – is still black. They didn’t even put in white LL fans, and Corsair makes those! So if you’re wanting a pure white build, be prepared to get out the spray paint.
Like most I. T. Folk over the last few months, I’ve been working from the home office. My pc was getting old, but it was also so damn loud with it sitting next to me on my desk, and the fan noise was just so distracting. So I built a new pc using this corsair 280x rgb case, and what can I say? This must be the quietest pc that I’ve ever experienced and lots of that is down to the qualities of this matx case. The included rgb fans are totally silent yet my system temperatures are still good. Def worth the extra cost. Thoroughly recommended!
It’s a very attractive looking case, it’s also quite small and thus had some issues fitting everything on my mATX motherboard into the case.
The included lighting controller is fantastic and works very well allowing you to use the included software to make some incredible displays. My one criticism of the case however is the somewhat limited airflow and no option to mount a rear fan.
Dead easy build with a lot of space – Only advice would be cut every cable tie Corsair have installed, they’re a right pain!
Fan controls were pre-mounted but not in great positions for access, but the sticky pads stay attached to the controllers and have tons of sticky left for re-placement.
Tried to build with a NZXT 240mm AIO at the top, but it fouled one of the power headers on an ITX motherboard
AIO at the bottom or front would’ve worked but ended up with top-mounted 120 in the end anyway
Corsair’s RGB software is very good, can see me wasting many many hours on flashing light patterns now!
Simply pretty as cases go. I built my new rig round mini atx. This comes with led pro installed. So it’s good value. I used it with h100 rgb, corsair led strips. Vengeance led ram on my new rig. It looks like Christmas has come early….
The best case I’ve ever owned, looks great, amazing built quality, very versatile and lots of options for cable management. The cube design twinned with a modular PSU means theres plenty of room to hide away the unsightly cables.
There is one problem though, the toolless PCI mount. I’ve seen others have had this problem as well. Basically the toolless flap that hooks over the PCI card tabs is too thick and lacks the indents, meaning the thumb screws dont line up with their holes. I had to take the mount off and bend it then use a ridiculous amount of force to get the screw holes lined up.
Apart from that the case is excellent.
Cleanest looking case I’ve ever owned and plenty of room inside, I have a RTX 2070 which is huge and it fits perfectly in here. The RGB lights look fantastic too
Really nice case, good build quality. Be aware that the motherboard header pins come in a default configuration that I had to change for my particular board. Corsair supplied an extra pin for that purpose, another thing that was well though out about this case.
Cable management was pretty straightforward thanks to the stuff compartment keeping most of the cabling out of view
Compact. Roomy for its size. My CPU and GPU are water-cooled. 1x280mm rad 1x240mm rad and 2x120mm fans. First all and no heat issues. Cables, HDDs and PSU in separate compartment. Brilliant case.
Looks great and has a good amount of space behind the board for cable management which keeps the glass side looking neat.
All works very well but you do need to remove the disk drive bays to fit an AIO cooler and would have been nice to have hot-swappable bays.
This case is a great lil thing to bring to LAN parties and go to events. Altough it is a little hard to take apart and put back together again its worth it. The glass on this is hardly noticable when you have alot of RGB products in the build.
