The levers are rather stiff but regular use keeps them moving +and I’d much rather they were too stiff than too loose!) Strong fitting, no fears of being weakened by the sun as with plastic.
This two way tap connector has worked an absolute treat. I needed to split the tap between one permanent installation (motion sensor sprinkler) and one variable use (watering hose, pressure washer etc). This was easy to install and functions perfectly. It’s a solid construction of brass and uses an industry standard ball valve to control the flow. When either side is shut it holds pressure without any leakage.
The two way tap splitter is selling for 14.99 at the time of this review, which I think is a reasonable price.
I’m happy to give this 5 stars.
This is a good quality hose splitter which is ideal for sticking on an outdoor tap so you can still use it even when a hose is connected to the other side. It screws onto the top with no issues and as it has the rubber seals, there is no leakage.
I’ve mainly got this so I don’t have to keep disconnecting the hose for other purposes and to that end, it works a treat.
This is a very useful & practical fitting. My garden tap already had a quick release hose connection & we had been happy to keep unplugging one hose and plugging in another drip feeder hose. When I saw this I had to have it. Made from solid brass it has a really strong feel to it. It was easy to fit to our tap by just screwing it on and then screw my 2 quick release hose male connectors, 1 on to each outlet. The lever on / off valves were stiff the first time I used them but after that they are easy to operate. I can now set up the auto drip feeder for our hanging baskets ready for the summer and not have to keep swapping hoses over. A well made, strong, great idea that looks like it will give years of good service.
Not too much to say about this. Its a 2 way splitter for your garden tap. My last one was a plastic version and started to leak when it froze.
This one is all brass so shouldnt succumb to the weather. Its easy to attach and there are seals to help when you tighten up to make sure its not leaking.
Both valves operate independent of each other. Price seem to be fair compared to others.
5 stars from me. Does the trick and should last.
These are just what I needed for the garden tap as the previous splitter was plastic which photo degraded and stopped working.
The body is good solid brass and looks to be durable. The quarter turn taps on each outlet are a little stiff, though I guess they will free up with use. The connections are fine for Hozelock type attachments, however the slight negative is that for simple screw on brass hosepipe adapters (where you push the hose on to a nozzle) they don’t seal to the brass body and leak around the connector.
Otherwise a great adaptor.
This item is for a brass hose splitter, allowing the use of 2 hoses from a single feed hose or tap. In my case, I attached this to my outside tap so I could use the hose for the sprinkler and fill up a watering can at the same time.
The item is very well made, and mostly of brass construction. It screws straight onto most UK outside taps, and most screw-on attachments fit directly.
Each outlet is individually controlled by their own ball type tap. Initially, both mine were very stiff, but after first use became easy to use, and with no leakage in the Off position.
A minor downside is the spray pattern the ball taps create when partially opening the tap, as can be seen in the video. I shall attach a short length of hose to my left side outlet to make this more controllable.
This item is more expensive than plastic versions, but feels of significantly better quality and durable. I think its worth the little bit extra.
This is a very solid hose splitter adapter and is so much better than the previous plastic one that I had, which ended up cracking, resulting in water leaking out everywhere.
The whole construction is made from brass and you can tell by the feel and weight of it that it is a sturdy adapter to convert your outside tap.
The splitter comes with rubber washers for extra water tightness and has both male and female thread joins to screw onto your tap and your hose connectors.
Once you have installed the adapter onto your tap, it is really easy to operate and you can have one hose output working independently by opening the lever on either the left or right output valve. Equally, should you wish to, you can have both levers open and working at the same time.
Early impressions is that this splitter is built with longevity in mind and will survive the extremes of both hot and cold weather from being placed outside permanently.
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, but to be honest, at 14.99, (with a 10% discount at the time of writing this review), I don’t think that this is expensive, given how robust it is and of course, I have learnt the hard way by purchasing a cheaper plastic version, which only lasted one summer through to winter before needing to be discarded.
I would very much recommend this hose splitter, it is a great bit of kit and hopefully will last for a good while and serve your garden needs very well. A great product.
I recently wanted to add a dishwasher to my kitchen and was shocked at the quoted price by a plumber to do the work. Not willing to part with that kind of money I decided I would research what I would need to do myself and found a very nice and quick hack – one of these 2 way splitters.
I already had the water done for my washing machine so the installation was as simple as removing the hose for my washing machine and attaching this splitter (and after wards reconnecting my washing machine and dishwasher + the waste water disposal).
The splitter is made of metal and has a surprising amount of heft to it, inspiring confidence in the build quality. It also comes with rubber O rings for creating a better seal and also has two tiny levels for turning off the water for each individual branch path. The levers use ball bearing type seals, which is often seen as a better alternative to antiquated plunge gates, so this is a nice benefit.
Overall, this is a really nice splitter and my only gripe is that the price of it seems a little steeper than average for something like this.
If this however does not bother you then I would wholeheartedly recommend it!
