Drop this mouth-guard in hot water for a little while, and it becomes nicely soft. I found that it moulded well to my slightly odd-shaped teeth (blame the orthodontist!), and after dropping in cold water it set well into that shape. It was easy to repeat the process if you didn’t get it quite right the first time, too. The case is definitely good to have: much better than a gum shield collecting dirt in the bottom of a bag! Pleased overall with this.

This mouthguard was easy to mould, just dip it in some boiling water and then when it has softened up stick it in your mouth and mould it around your upper teeth. It’s quite a bulky one so ideal for sports. It fits very comfortable in my mouth.

No issues with this – easy enough to mould and comfortable enough to wear in contact training obec immersed in hot water and went through the moulding to my mouth. It softens up in the hot water.

I usually use an Oppo mouth guard but I had to cut small pieces of the back of it as some of the rubber would catch my throat and made me gag. The case was this cheap plastic twirl to lock rubbish as well so I have never been that fond of it.

This one has a far better simpler case and the material is a LOT thicker and required a few dunking sessions in boiling water for me to properly mould it to my teeth

As with all mouthguards they are never ‘really’ comfortable but I would rather use this one going forward. Did not require any additional modification outside of the water process.

The cost the school charges for “Opro” gum shields fitted by the dental nurse is very high – and then they “get lost” – so I decided we would try these “mould your own” versions.

It took two goes to get a good fit in a 16 year old – but it was worth it. You can re-heat and remould many times over to get it right. The result is a good fot – easily as good as the dental ones. They stay in place and breathing is no different and there is good coverage of the teeth.

My only issue is longevity – will these mouldable shields last as long as the dental “pro-fit” ones? Well since the costly ones lasted only 2 terms, if these make it to the summer holidays they will have been way cheaper than getting the school’s replacement!

I didn’t initially think that Dr Knox’s gum shield would fit – the guard was too narrow for my teeth line and didn’t fit in. I was sure it wouldn’t be suitable.

However, after reading the instructions and immersing it in hot water, the whole thing softened up and became pliable and was easy to manipulate and take an impression of my mouth. Even the outer of the guard became soft and I got the perfect fit.

Then, immersing it in cold water, it hardened again, and now I have a bespoke mouth guard for under 13. Fantastic!

The quality is great, the fit is great, and the price is great. An easy 5/5 if you’re looking for a guard for combat sports, or just if you grind your teeth while weight training.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNeeded to buy a mouth guard for my daughters after school Jiu Jitsu class. It was easy to mold to her teeth after soaking in hot water and she has found it comforable to wear. The only negative feedback she was it’s taste (probably a plastic/rubber taste), so we left it soaking overnight one night in Squash and that seems to have resolved that issue.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt fits OK to my 8 years old child, looks decent and durable.
Got this for the school games, works fine.
It comes with a black protective case, cute red flame illustration is on it.
Looks the same as advertised, I would say it’s a good value for money.
