I’ve used this inspection camera extensively for both home repairs and automotive diagnostics. The flexible cable makes it easy to navigate through tight spots, and the adjustable lights are perfect for dark environments. The waterproof feature has been particularly useful when checking for blockages in pipes. It connects to my phone seamlessly, providing clear images without needing WiFi.
A very useful bit of kit and very simple to use. Simply down load an app to open up its functionality and plug it into your phone or other device using the supplied connectors. Watch live, take a snap shot or video (files are stored in the app but it’s very easy to transfer them). It’s got a short focal length of a couple of centimetres outside of that and if you move too fast it does get a little blurry – like a mole with reading glasses! Whilst the tip isn’t directional the (very long) cable is stiffened to angle around corners. If you’re after something rather than being nosy there’s a hook / magnet attachment. Not five stars? The camera has dual lenses for a 90 degree view – still trying to figure this out as the instructions were for the single lens option. IMO the controller could be a little more less like the volume switch on a cheap pair of headphones. But it’s all relative to cost and on the whole I’m very pleased. The above video was my 10 yr old daughter exploring under the decking to find the loudest snoring hedgehog – EVER. It’s that simple to use.
This is a very useful tool for viewing in otherwise impossible to get to places. My main use to date for this has been looking down the back of fitted wardrobes to see what has fallen into the space. A probably better use for this would be looking into drainpipes.
The unit requires a free app to be downloaded from the Google Play Store (or Apple) and it requires configuration for its first use. The unit plugs into a USB-C port on your phone and has a small control box where the semi-rigid endoscope is attached.
You get a reasonable quality 1080p picture from the camera on the end although i did find the photos taken did not appear to be of a similar quality. but I suspect that this is due to the short focal length of 2-10cm and anything further away looking blurred. However the quality is good enough to identify what you are looking for. The is a reasonably bright ring of LEDs around the camera lens to illuminate the area you are viewing.
The endoscope is semi-rigid which has the advantage of it goes where it is pushed but the disadvantage of when it is in a large space of curling up rather the going in like a straight rod. The unit is also IP67 waterproof for working in drains.
The unit comes with a few tools that clip to the camera such as an angled mirror, hook and probe and these seem to be clipped securely to the camera end but I worry about these becoming detached inside the item you are viewing although this did not happen.
This camera is perfect for getting into those tight spaces where it is difficult to ascertain what you may have lost down there. We have recently moved house and this came in very handy for spotting small objects that had fallen between cabinets etc and allowed us to fish them out. The app that links to the camera was very easy to set up, took 2 mins and the instructions that came with it were easy to follow.
The picture quality is brilliant for such a small lenses and even works well in darks spaces, which I suppose is the whole point of this item. It has it niche uses, but it does them very well, If this is the sort of thing you are looking for, then you’ll be getting a great one with this Camera.
I have a 8(?) year old inspection camera with a built in screen and it’s only ever given an “impression” of what’s there. This one gives a really clear field of view. The side camera is great too as that’s often the view you need.
This endoscope camera is a great kit for enthusiasts like me who frequently tinker in the car and also hunt for stuff behind tool box and cabinets etc.
The Good:
— Easy, plug and play after installation of App software
— Long flexible cable for better accessibility + USB adapters (i.e. lightning, micro USB)
— IP67 rated i.e. can be used in both dry and wet environment
— Useful hook and magnet attachments
— Also features a side camera, excellent for inspecting wear conditions of side walls of pipes, cylinder bores etc.
Improvement points:
— the LED lights could be brighter
— a protective carry case for storage and transport would be useful
This kit has helped me inspect leaks, cracks and find long forgotten bits behind worktops and cabinets.
With the above improvements, this kit would be perfect and highly recommended as a must have addition to any DIY enthusiast’s toolbox.
Great utility gadget to look into tight spaces, including hook and magnet attachments that help with retrieving items from said tight spaces.
The camera quality isn’t the best, but it doesn’t really need to be. The most important thing on it is the brightness of the LEDs, which are sufficiently bright enough and adjustable with the in-line cable controls.
The cable itself is usb-c type, but it also includes a lightning and a micro usb adapters for older devices that do not feature a usb c port.
The app launches automatically when the device is connected, and is easy and intuitive to use.

This endoscope is really easy to use, you plug it into your phone and then (via the app) you can see whatever you want to look at – just hold the camera end and use the lights accordingly. We find it excellent for when the dogs have pushed a ball under the sofa, you can easily find it without them scratching a hole in the carpet trying to get it!
It’s a good price for a very useful tool. Recommended.
I bought this endoscope, which also comes with a side camera, as I wanted to check the cylinders on my motorbike. The cylinders are prone to cracking and unless you take the engine apart, or unless your bike has hot starting problems, you’ll never know.
I plugged this into an old iphone and checked all the cylinders. I’m happy to say there are no cracks, just some wear and tear, so I can sell my bike on, knowing that I’m not ripping off the next owner.
With the kit you get, the endoscope, a ring to protect the threads on the camera, a hook and a magnet which thread onto the camera for retrieveing small objects from awkward places, a miini usb adaptor, and Apple adaptor, and instructions.
You can use the software app suggested in the instructions or just use XScope which is essentially the same thing.
Operation is pretty simple, plug it into your phone after intalling the software app and it’s good to go. The button at the start of the cable can be used to take photos, or with a longer press change the camara in use between front and side. There is also a control for the light brightness.
Being over 16 feet in length it’s going to be useful for the likes of blocked drain etc. it is rated IP67 for water resistance so should be ok for shallow wet applications. I have used it for examining the inside of a motorcycle petrol tank which I was epoxy coating, to make sure the coating had covered the entire surface. It worked ok, the light isn’t all that bright but I was able to use a torch to also illuminate the inside of the tank and got the job done. The side pointing camera was particularly useful for this application.
All in all for the money, around 27 at time of writing, this is a very useful tool with many uses. The only real gripe I have is that the light isn’t all that bright, so one star lost.
It’s a very basic device at the core – a tiny camera integrated into a waterproof semi-rigid cable and some led modules around to allow the camera seeing things. Having said that, it’s super helpful and provides a great quality image, well good enough to understand exactly what you are seeing (resolution can be misleading, it’s the bitrate that matters). Side camera view (you switch between the two using a dedicated switch) is extremely useful – a great design thought.
Accessories, such as hooks and magnets, will even assist you in going beyond monitoring and discovery to retrieving your long drill bits, for example 🙂
I’m somewhat torn between being able to plug this in to any tablet/phone, or whether I would rather have one of these with a dedicated device/display as part of the package.
Have one of these at home will pay for itself really quickly, as you will be able to find out what the problems are without having to pay some exorbitant call out fees. As a bonus, you can use this for entertainment purposes, too; who wouldn’t want to inspect the condition of their house walls in between cavities, am I right???
This device is an extra camera for your mobile phone, and yes, it will require an app to be downloaded and installed, which is pretty much part of the course.
With most smartphones costing several 100s, if not more you have in your hand but only a mobile computer but an high definition monitor, it then makes sense to leverage these very good components rather than package an item with lower quality processors and displays and instead put the value in the five-metre length of cable and the cameras at the business end, in this case, they’re 2—one forward facing one side facing and these will deliver a standard high definition video.
The cable is semi-rigid and waterproof the rigidity is necessary if you are tracking it through a pipe for example you want some stiffness to the cable to allow you to feed it equally it needs some flexibility so that if there are any bends it can track around those.
The water resistance is indicated at IP67 this is pretty good and should allow for operations up to a 1M depth of water for around an hour, but IP68 would have been better.
Connecting to your device, which, of course, could be a tablet or even a laptop, etc. you have a range of USB adapters, including Lightning and micro USB, with the main connector being the now ubiquitous USB-C. Also in the package is a choice of ends that can act as hooks or catches to allow you to snag an item or magnetically pick it up.
In conclusion, for the asking price of 26.99 at the time of writing, this device is a great way to leverage my phone or similar device, allowing me to see into places that would normally be beyond line of sight.
