Unlike some others when having two things connected the speed does not suffer,so long as you using high speed cables too,altogether does the jib and saves relying on wi-fi
Brought this to split the ethernet connection between my kitchen TV and Sky Mini box (to place behind the wall mounted TV and Sky Mini). I was having trouble with the WiFi connection, even using a booster, so decided to go the ethernet route. The splitter works very well and I now have a rock solid connection to the TV and Mini. The splitter is powered by a USB C to A cable, I was planning to use the TV’s USB port for the 5V supply, unfortunately the TV’s USB’s power down when in standby, which looses the connection to the Sky Mini, so I installed a 13amp socket with 2 USB connections, problem solved, of course if you have a spare plug socket (I didn’t) you can use any spare USB plug you may have lying around.
I use this behind the TV where I have 1 Ethernet connection available from a Powerline adapter, but require 2 hardwired Ethernet ports – 1 for the TV and 1 for a streaming device. I could setup WiFi on the streaming device, but hard wiring it is always better.
Performance seems great. The only thing I don’t understand is why the splitter needs to be powered. Dropping 1 star because of that.
