Bought this thinking it was for the elite s2. Was not. BUT, I was able to make it work by cutting out the circles on the stock membrane. As far as buttons not working, double up the contact pads. Take a mechanical pencil and scrape the contact pads while stacking them. All the buttons work and have had no issues
I got these clicky replacement buttons for my xbox series controller because I haven’t used it in months and I want to use it again. I prefere the stock controller feel and quality but a few months ago a got a controller that has clicky buttons and hall effect sticks, and it is way more satisfying to use the clicky controller over my series controller. So this kit has allowed me to turn my abxy buttons on my series controller into clicky buttons. This is a great step in order for my series controller to compete with my clicky controller. Yes this is only the abxy buttons, but it is still better than none. Having the abxy buttons being clicky is supper nice and hard to actually convey how nice it is over the old mushy buttons. Once you feel a controller with clicky buttons, it is hard to go back, and this is why my series controller has just been sitting there for months. Now that the abxy buttons are clicky, I am more apt to use the controller again. But ultimately, I want to turn all the buttons clicky, like the bumpers and triggers. Overall, a really nice kit that wasn’t too hard to install, especially since I’ve already modded the sticks (added the eXtremeRate Interchangeable Thumbsticks) on this controller so I was familiar with taking it apart. The hardest part was sticking the conductive stickers onto the back of the pcb’s. Would recommend!
I got this for a slightly older Xbox One Limited Edition Halo 5 Master Chief edition controller & am very happy with the end result.
The biggest problem with the Xbox One controller are the squishy buttons in my opinion – I just always felt like they would not bounce back as quickly as the 360 or playstation controllers. But this changes that with surprising good effect.
The buttons are now nice and clicky + quick responding – kind of like how it should have come from Microsoft.
The only thing to mention, is that the installation can be a bit daunting if you are not comfortable with tinkering in small devices. Since I already had the tools & wanted to upgrade this aging controller, it was no problem for me.
I think that if you want to keep a older controller going or just want to upgrade a controller, you really need to get this for it!
I ordered this ABXY to mod my cyberpunk Xbox controller to make it click and just to give it a better feel when using it.
Before starting the mod, i watched the eXtremeRate video on YouTube showing how to fit this mod, it fits in to two types of controllers, but not every type of Xbox one controller, please make sure this kit fits your board before ordering. Luckily the cyberpunk controller is the same as the Xbox one S/X type and those are the instruction you follow.
Everything went well and i followed the video in order, except i did break a plastic clip on one of the shoulder covers but it didn’t make any difference it fitted back just fine.
In the kit is everything you will need to do this mod, including a T6 and T8 screwdriver, tweezers, prising plastic tool, rubber pads set for both types of controller, conductive pads and two small circuit boards with self adhesive tape.
I would say that pretty much anyone can do this mod if they follow the video. i now have click ABXY keys, although the Xbox key is now quite silent and weird to press.
Considering it gives the kit for two types of controller and also everything you need such as screwdrivers, its really good value and being a novice modder of Xbox controllers and never done it before, i would recommend it. If I can do it, then pretty much anyone can with some patience.
This is a great add-on to the series X controller. It makes the abxy buttons more responsive and clicky. No issues so far and feels great. My recommendation is watching the guide on extreme rate as it can be a bit fiddly to take the controller apart but actually installing it is easy. Perfect for upping your game.
