Always been a fan of the atomic purple nintendo’s and have my modded gameboy colour and N64 in similar colourings.
This was a great refresh for the cheap switch lite i brought that had a rough lift with cracks in housing. Only thing I not a fan of from this was the screen protector with the black border to cover the factory colour. To do it properly, especially if you do not have the grey or purple switch lite is to replace the digitiser as part of the swap ou
Bit of a tight fit with the left shoulder button so had to shave that down and the slot covers are flimsy, but otherwise perfect.
Fits nicely together, clasped tight just as the original did, easy to install and looks great.
I opted for Atomic Purple and it looks great once installed, I love the retro vibe. My switch was teal coloured and I opted not to use the screen protector that comes with the shell, out of everything I struggled the most with the protector so just ditched it in the end! The teal rim of my screen actually looks decent with the purple shell, grey would have worked better but I don’t regret not bothering with the protector.
Obviously this takes some time and effort to install. I spent roughly 4 hours doing this but I actually enjoyed the challenge. I only had an issue with the ZR and ZL buttons post installation but it was because i’d put the rubber button press inside the switch the wrong way round, once I corrected that it worked like a charm.
There are plenty of tutorials online on how to do this, as long as you find a good one you’ll probably manage just fine. I used the tutorial by Erica Griffin on youtube, as she narrates what she’s doing I found this to be better than the tutorial by extremeRate themselves.
We overhauled my sons switch lite and just got this to customise it whilst it was in bits but he loves the new look of his Nintendo a little fiddly but just take your time and you’ll get there would take you around 20 minutes to change comes with a set of classic multi coloured Nintendo buttons which look grea
Very good quality and gives a nice retro look. Unfortunately the B button that come with the kit was completely different from the rest and did not fit so unfortunately had to resort to using standard white. I would recommend howeve
This is a brilliant product for customising, changing or even replacing your Switch Lites case.
It’s sturdy, well made and very pleasant to look at once completed. Something I’m sure all of you want in this style of product.
However I do have two issues with this product. Neither relating to the case itself mind you.
1st – The screwdrivers supplied with the product broke on me and made on of my Tri Wing screws damaged. Meaning my original switch case is simply unusable and I’m now left with the case I ordered. I’m not sure if this is a common issue or if I simply got unlucky but the Tri Wing screwdriver supplied with my case broke immediately rendering it pointless. So I ordered some more to change my case around.
2nd – Note that this product is designed to be used by experienced consumers. And if you are new to customising I strongly recommend you watch a video before, during and after purchasing. As taking any Switch apart is a daunting task for a new person.
But aside from that. This product is amazing! Strongly recommend
I wanted to make my Switch Lite Purple. (I bought my lite 2nd hand and Touch Screen was damage so I thought lets do a DIY project!) The screwdrivers you get with are excellent and the sprae springs and screws are very handy if you lose any from your switch.
In regards to the shell, I love the Atomic Purple look! However, I noticed a few little white bits of plastics on the inside of the back case (Probably due to how it was made). It’s still a very good shell but that is why I’m only giving it 4/5. They white bits do stand out once you install the shell.
Furthermore, the coloured buttons feel nice (I used black ones for my project instead though).
If you get a case without the white marks. It’s definitely worth the invest and making your lite look unique and fantastic!
Overall, very good product.
