If you’ve got the matte finish bottom as opposed to the glossy bottoms, the scarlet ones work great. I love the satin finish that seems to blend with the matte black. I feel like keeps that separation of the glossy top screen to the matte bottom. Was very easy to install with EXR instruction video. They also provided everything you could need for the swap. They go above and beyond for the money. Quality feels great and I didn’t have an issue with fitment.
They look great and work just as good. They even come with parts so you can put in new springs, pins etc.. If you know how to disassemble the DS it’s not too hard to install the parts. They fit like the OEM parts and feel sturdy like they are hard plastic or aluminum.
The product is good, but as I was taking my Nintendo DS apart, I destroyed it so I have nothing else to say just take your time. Try it just take your time.
Nice full set of buttons for the DS Lite! I got this kit to customize my DS a little, it comes complete with all the buttons needed, they all have a good quality overall and it kept the same playing experience after installed. Pretty cool to give your DS a new look, even after so many years, I’m really happy with the results!
The price is good, they’re well made and look great. They fit perfectly. They come with the membranes, spare screws, nuts, springs and a couple little screw drivers you’ll need to disassemble your handheld. I’d would definitely buy again for 14.99, well worth it. The d-pad and round buttons fit my Trimui Smart Pro as well as the Nintendo and look awesome on both.
This full button replacement set is only for the DS lite and comes with enough tools to let you replace the buttons you need.
I like that you get almost everything you need to be able to open and replace the buttons on the DS lite, it comes with two screw drivers for the different sized screws used and also a pry bar to pry open the casing without causing damage. There are two screws hidden under the pads on the hinge, the pads were difficult to remove without a good set of tweezers, and there aren’t any tools provided to help with that part. It also comes with its own set of screws and springs, so you don’t have to reuse the ones that come with the handheld.
I had originally gotten this set to fix the power button on my DS lite due to in being broken a few years back. The instructions for the installation are said to be online which is true but it leads you to the site to then tell you to search it up on youtube, so I would just say search for the shell replacement on youtube to get instructions right away instead of trying to go through their website, it’s a bit hidden.
The video does a decent job of showing how to install the buttons with good notes to be aware of when doing it so you don’t make mistakes. Though you will have to skip most of the shell installation portions of the video. So I was able to get the power button installed but found out that my DS lite is broken to the point where this set won’t be able to fix that because it’s more than the set provides.
Overall the set is really good if you wanted to mod your buttons to a different colour scheme and the instructions while are more than what this set is doing is still good when it gets to the part about installing the buttons.
If you don’t want to do a full re-shell, but still want to upgrade the aesthetics of your DS, these are great. The kit has everything you need to disassemble your system and replace the original parts.
You could even create a fully custom shell and button combination with other eXtremeRate kits. I got a set of black buttons to use in my translucent red shell, for example, and it looks fantastic. Unfortunately, I now have an extra set of buttons that I have no use for…
If your DS lites’ buttons are getting worn out and stick then this kit is perfect for you. The array of colors gives you many choices to choose from. The buttons are smooth and fit perfectly.
These are not easy to install though, so if you’re not tech savvy have someone else put them in.
