My 6 year old is starting to complete larger jigsaws and has had great fun with this. Nice picture to talk about and the magic spots are a nice added touch to make it extra interesting.

This is a nice world map jigsaw puzzles with an interesting concept of rub and reveal patches. My daughter certainly enjoys putting the jigsaw puzzle together but she is not very impressed with the patches as the pictures are not very vibrant in colour.

Hours of discovery captured in one puzzle. My little ones eagerly put it together, anticipation building for the grand reveal. They then rub the magic patches, revealing pictures that amaze, then vanish. The solid pieces withstand their eager handling and are easily cleaned. Their laughter and wonder make this more than just a puzzle.

It is Galt. I expected fantastic quality and that is precisely what I got.

The pieces are thick and sturdy and fit together very well. Once complete, I was able to pick the jigsaw up be each end and hold it and it didn’t break apart.

The design is fun, bright and child friendly. The recommended age guide is 4-8. It can be just a fun to do jigsaw for a young child then as they get older there is a lot they can learn about animals and landmarks. Unfortunately there is no text on the jigsaw, so as adults you’re going to have to know your geography and wildlife to discuss the continents, countries, animals and landmarks!

The rub off sections take a fair bit of rubbing to reveal what is underneath, which can begin to make the finger uncomfortably hot due to the friction. Obviously using more than one finger would help, but we found it much better to cover those sections with a warm hand instead then lift up the hand to reveal the secret bit!

We found some really fun games to play such as how long it takes to find the penguin / kangaroo etc. Or find an animal beginning with ‘E’. Lots of fun!

    I would recommend this jigsaw.

This jigsaw had the added attraction of having pictures that appear from the heat of rubbing your finger over it.
It’s a map and there are animals from the relevant areas on it. Some of the animals are blacked out but if you rub it with your finger a picture will appear.
The jigsaw itself is made up of large pieces that easily fit together. There is quite a lot of sea in this picture so I think younger children may need help to fit these parts together.
The box that it comes in is good quality so it will be suitable to store it and keep all the pieces safe.
This jigsaw is fun but it is also educational and from a wellknown established brand.
The only concern I have is that in order to make the picture appear you have to really rub it and I’m not sure how robust these pieces are, as they are made from card I’m not convinced they will withstand being vigorously rubbed without eventually being damaged, but I could be wrong, only time will tell.

4.0 out of 5 stars A well known brand.

The video goes into a bit more detail, including showing the pieces up close for an idea of size, thickness and potential durability.

    However, in a nutshell:

    Things I liked:

+ Good quality – while the pieces are made of board, it’s really thick and doesn’t bend at all easily.
+ Fun – my 9 year old enjoyed making it. Not too much challenge to be frustrating, not too little to be boring, although I would say 9 years old is the upper limit of who I would get this for. Having said that, my 11 year old and 14 year old also made it when they saw it was out.
+ Good value – 11 is very decent value for this.
+ Educationalally stimulating – plenty of discussion to be had if you’re making this with your child, and the rub-patches mean the child doesn’t want to ignore the pictures, they want to interact with them.

    Things I didn’t like:

    – Nothing.

    Do I recommend it?

Absolutely. It’s great fun and great value.

My young daughter loves this jigsaw puzzle. She’s 8 years old, and the 50 pieces are just the right amount to keep her entertained without loosing interest.

The jigsaw itself is brightly coloured and full of lovely pictures and points of interest on the finished map. It’s perfect for youngsters and great for those starting to learn geography too.
I home tutor my daughter and we’ve found this jigsaw to be a fabulous teaching aid too!

There are various colour magic shapes dotted around the puzzle, which once warmed reveal a picture – these range from animals to landmarks. It’s lots of fun finding out what’s hiding behind each shape.

The jigsaw is of excellent quality and the pieces are a good size and perfect for little hands. The finished puzzle measures around 55 x 40cm.

It’s a wonderful puzzle, quite possibly one of the best jigsaw puzzles we’ve had so far.

As a sturdy jigsaw, my 6 year old son has loved this. He knows the basics of getting a jigsaw started by finding all the edges and making the frame and then focusing on certain areas to build the inside – he really loves to start with Australia. He understands that he needs to look at the pictures and see which parts match up and for the most part it’s easy for him to do – there’s a hippo missing a bum or the boat is missing its cargo. I was intrigued by the ‘Magic’ part of the jigsaw – each continent has several hidden objects – not necessarily animals and by rubbing them to heat them up it reveals them. This was actually very difficult and took a lot of rubbing – by the time you get half way through them they’ve already started to turn black at start. It is a good conversation piece though to discuss the various countries/continents although it’s quite an abstract map, talk about the different animals, buildings, and various forms of transport. The pieces are decently thick and not too small so easy enough to build on a carpet and they hold together pretty well so it can be moved around when built up. If your child is already a jigsaw expert then they may find this one isn’t challenging enough.
