I’m an adult however this kit I feel is excellent for all ages, a fun little activity.
It even gives you instructions if you’d like to make the magnets shown on the box and plenty of the air dry clay so even if younger little artists get messy there will be enough to get the magnets done!
Definitely recommend
I like to order these to have for children’s birthdays so we are not hunting around for presents. As we give them as gifts, I am unsure what the actual product is like.
Bought for my nephews (ages 11 and 6). Both loved them. Lots of colours and googly eyes. Texture of mould is weird but in a good way. Colours stick to each other well, don’t come apart. All weird creatures now sitting proudly on my fridge
This was a fun and cheerful little kit. The airdry clay was easy to use and dries an almost foamy texture, so is very lightweight. The colours are bright and there is plenty of clay – we made a couple of extra flat shapes with patterns on with the leftover.
The only issue I found was the sticky on the magnets was not very strong, and I needed to put a little glue on to hold them in place. I also found that the pink clay in our pack was faulty and didn’t dry properly, it needed longer to dry and when it was fully dried it was foamier than the other colours and dented quite easily.
Overall a good little kit for an hour of fun, and not bad for the price.
I’ve been stuck at home quite a lot recently with the children catching bugs. So this has been a life saver. Gave me a good solid 30-45 minutes of peace to sit and relax and have a breather. The kids were ecstatic. They couldn’t wait to do them. It was very easy for them to do. They are 4 & 6. There are loads of different colours and different monster faces that you can decorate with. The magnet is quite strong and they stuck them up on the fridge straight away and we got to taking pictures. Might have to get some as a gift for other children as it was such a big hit.
A very fun set with enough materials to make 6 monster magnets. 6 small packets of air drying clay, 6 polystyrene domes about the size of a very small plum, 6 adhesive magnets and 15 wiggly eyes, a modelling tool and instruction guide with examples of monsters to be made.
Unfortunately the set arrived with magnets and googly eyes lose inside the box that on opening fell everywhere. Otherwise no problems with the contents themselves.
Marketed for 6+ although our son (almost 4) has enjoyed making his own versions of monsters with our supervision with success.
At 6.99 apart from packaging issues this is good value for money.
This Monster Magnets craft kit would make a perfect present for any children who are mad about monsters and love playing with clay. For 6.99 (at the time of writing), you’ll get 6 bags of different colour clay, some tools, a few sets of eyes, and an instruction manual.
This air-dry clay is also great for my autistic son who has heightened sensory issues. As this clay is very light, easy to shape, and doesn’t stick to the hand, it’s perfect for him to play with.
The array of beautiful vibrant colours and the fun moulding and shaping of the clays have provided a calming session, very therapeutic, and a good stimulus for him.
He loves this so much and can play with it for hours. It dries very quickly but doesn’t go hard like the regular clay. The colours stay bright and vibrant when dry.
Overall, super fun craft that is loved by my autistic son.
This is a fab toy for my craft obsessed great grandson. I have to say, I love half toys, as they are both instructive and fun…and always reliable. This kit has enough modelling clay to make six monster magnets, instructions, googly eyes, a couple of handy tools and six round flat magnets to press into the clay. Great grandson had a lot of fun making monsters with googly eyes, and is definitely keen to get another set. At this price, it’s easy to indulge him, too.
GALT games and crafts are usually great quality and this set is no exception. The box includes all you need to get really pleasing results. Magnets, air drying clay, googly eyes and tools for details are all there. This set was ideal for an after school club activity. A very wide age range of children got creative and made some really effective monster magnets at their own level in their own way. The following day’s session the same children could take away their finished magnet. Super! Really pleased that we trialled this magnet craft set.
I’ve been using Galt puzzles, craft kits and games for years in schools, playgroups, with my own children and for gifts for decades now. They are always great quality and this little kit is no exception. It would make a great party gift or a kit to have in hand to use during the holidays on rainy days or sick days when you need something novel to bring out to engage your children.
The set includes 6 very brightly coloured air drying clays ( reseal in a plastic bag if you have spare to use at a later date), goggly eyes to decorate your monster and 6 button magnets to press into the back of the monster head so that the finished article can be displayed on a flat metal surface. There is also a plastic clay tool for fine detail work and some polystyreme molds that can be used to make predetermined monster heads ( which are a bit small and so fiddly for very little hands) or your child can just free form their own creature. All very simple, quite clean to use and a bit of fun, especially for a few friends as an activity as you can make up to 6 magnet creatures. There are two instuction leaflets in the pack – a pictorial one and a word one with instructions to make the creatures using the moulds.
This gift is ideal for children aged about 5 or 6 upwards. They can create their own monster fridge magnets easily and with no mess. Everything you need is in the pack. There are 6 different coloured air-drying clay packs, all sealed in little plastic bags (tip, if you don’t use them all at once, seal the bag again to prevent drying out). The polystyrene moulds themselves are quite small, there are 4 round ones measuring 2.5 cm diameter, and 2 pear-shaped ones a bit bigger. In any case there should be enough clay to cover these moulds. They come in a rainbow coloured sealed paper envelope, together with a plastic tool for working the clay. There are several pairs of google-eyes to stick onto the monsters and a magnet to go on the back. The google eyes are loose in the packet so make sure not to lose them. There are two instruction leaflets, both in 6 languages. One describes in words how to make the monsters, and one is a pictorial instruction leaflet. You can make the monsters as suggested, or make up your own. At just under 7 this is a really good gift for a child’s party, or birthday, and should keep them amused for a while.
I love the Galt activity sets and most importantly the children love them too! We were very excited to receive this brilliant monster magnets set, it contains modelling clay, googly eyes and magnets for the back.
This actually arrived leaking googly eyes and magnets, they were loose in the box they arrived in so it’s worth double checking none have got lost in the bottom before you discard the packaging!
These are easy and fun to make with the only limit being your imagination. We all had fun with these creating wacky creations and it’s a set that you could buy again and again and have so much fun with.
Recommended, great fun, would buy again.
