Easy to install for someone who has done it before (not for the fainthearted). Worked first time (I must have got all the plugs in the right place). Installation guidance really needs to be downloaded. And its windows 11 compatible.
All connections I wanted are there and more haven’t even used the m.2 slots the wifi the bluetooth with antenna great! The fact it’s got voltage control over 3 pin fans just great! What just an amazing motherboard can’t say more just quality.
Got this for my PC about two years ago now, and I have had no problems. It was very simple to set up and put into the tower. Had to look around the motherboard carefully to find where to put some things like my SSD, but other than that, the experience was great.
After having loads of issues including a failed wifi module in some Asus mobos, I returned them and decided to go for a Gigabyte to use with my new Ryzen 5800x build. I’m so glad I did as despite not coming with so many ‘goodies’ (not even a full user manual! Which I must admit is annoying!) it is a lot more stable, the bios actually works properly and importantly it has a proper Intel wifi chip. I can’t recommend it enough.
Bought this as a build to downsize from homelab ex enterprise kit.
Very happy with it, accepted all the bits and bobs i needed to attach, and as a bonus it supports bifurcation so it worked with a 4xNVMe pcie adaptor at full pci4 speed
Running Windows Server 2022 on it, and the devices could have been a bit easier to setup (but to be fair Server 2022 isnt on the supported OS list). Hyper-V working great on it, paired with 128Gb memory (another nice feature of this board), 2 WD black nvme drives, 3 Samsung SATA ssds and a 5600x cpu, a SAS card stolen from my old Dell server, and a 12Tb SAS hdd.
Seems to do a good job of keeping my 3 pin case fans quiet.
Have not tried all the RGB stuff since thats not my thing, but there seem to be a bunch of headers on here for it if thats your thing.
Only thing worth noting is that only the big metal PCI-E slot is pci4 speed, the other 2 and the 1x are slower, similar for the NVMe slots, only 1 is 4th gen PCIe, which isnt a problem for me, as I can shove the NVMe drives on the fast pci slot, and the SAS controller and basic GPU on the other. For those who want a gaming PC with a fast GPU, you would be limited to a single NVMe at 4th gen on this board. Apparently if the AMD processor has integrated graphics this gets even worse.
Overall, would recommend this board strongly. Have achieved my goal of a power drop from 140w idle to 88w, with a noticeable bump in performance and reduction in my computer sounding like an airport – i can barely tell its on.
UPDATE Nov 2023 – I liked this board so much I bought a 2nd one for my son as the basis of a gaming PC, and I can report that Windows 11 installs cleanly on it, and picks up all drives auto-magically over wifi, including the suite of Gigabyte tools for things like fan monitoring/control etc.
I stand by my 5 star rating – this is a great mobo for this gen of AMD
Really happy with this board, bought to replace a very cheap (and feature light) b450 from a few years ago, mainly for the built in Wifi 6 and Bluetooth connectivity since I had moved house and had no upstairs phone sockets. The Wifi on this is amazing, Gigabyte provide quite a cool looking magnetic antenna that sticks to the top of your PC case, as soon as I connected it, I was able to get Wifi speeds that matched the ethernet speeds I got previously, but with the advantage of not having a 30ft cable going down the stairs!
Aside from that, it’s also got some nice sturdy built in heatsinks for the M2 drives, lots of USB ports, and the bluetooth connectivity is very stable as well. Only real negative for me (and it’s a minor one) is that there’s an oddly positioned fan connector in the middle of the board, would’ve made more sense to have it on the right side in my opinion. Overall, it’s got quite a premium feel to almost every aspect of it and definitely worth what I paid for it.
To start. Yes you do need to update the BIOS, However if you pay attention and follow advice from experts like Mike on U/Tube then it is simple enough.
I am building a Ryzen5 5600X 32 GB Gaming PC, with a Radeon RX 600 Graphics card, 2X NVME” SSD and 32 GB of 3200 Mhtz ram.
That will give me 140+ FPS for even the most demanding games.
Great motherboard for the price. Upgraded from an MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max, and it easily outperforms that. Loads of features, such as ARGB, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc… Has a very good sound chip too. Just make sure you install the AMD Chipset Drivers, Update Bios, and install drivers from Gigabyte site to get all features working properly. Very happy with i
Easy installation. BIOS is easy to navigate.
Great for gaming. Would be nice to have a USB-C but that’s really not the end of the world.
Great value board – WiFi and Bluetooth work perfectly after updating drivers.

Really pleased with this board which I bought at around a 25% discount on original release price. The board has good power delivery for lower end of the mid range and also has Wifi 6 and bluetooth 5. The bios is quite easy to get around and there are 5 fan headers (2 cpu 3 system) with various presets that can be applied for silence or performance.
There are a few nit pick downsides in that there are no bios LEDS to monitor the boot process which would have been nice and were on the board I was replacing, and the gigabyte RGB software is pretty crap to be honest. I’ve tested a couple of linux distros with the board and the wifi support is hit and miss – It works on the latest Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with Kernel 5.15, but doesnt work on Pop OS with Kernel 5.16 that is also based on Ubuntu 22.04, and doesnt work with Manjaro latest release also Kernel 5.15.
I would have preferred one of the MSI boards such as the B550 Tomahawk, but that didnt have Wifi and was more expensive at time of purchase. Overall though I’m really pleased with this board especially at the discounted price.
Functionally this motherboard is a great choice for almost any ryzen build.
It has everything you need and it all works perfectly.
Particularly impressed with the on board Bluetooth which after installing a free plugin supports using a ps5 controller wirelessly without having to use a cable or any adapters.
Minor criticism is the on board rgb lighting.
There are a few different sections of the motherboard that have lighting behind them but it is very soft lighting and doesn’t really add anything to your build if you were hoping for bright lights.
Really happy with this motherboard.
Have it paired with a Ryzen 5800X CPU, 2x 16GB sticks of 3600 memory, 2x NVME M.2 drives and a RTX 3070 GPU.
Updated the BIOS firmware to the latest F13 version (13-07-2021) available on Gigabyte’s website.
The BIOS layout is quite nice and was easy to set XMP profile to use full memory speed and set custom fan speed curves based on temps. You can also easily disable PBO, set CPU voltage and set all cores to a fixed speed if you so desire.
The inclusion of on-board WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 is a handy as saves having to use USB or PCI-E for them later.
Everything is running really stable under latest Windows 10 Pro. Have stress tested and benched with no issues and has been running fine for just over a month now.
Highly recommended! 🙂
This motherboard is great, especially for the price.
The main reason I am writing this review is to inform people of the Q-Flash process.
Based on previous Amazon reviews, and research on google, I believed that this (and most) B550 motherboards required bios flashing to allow ryzen 5600x CPUs to work on the motherboard. I spent my morning trying to flash the bios and to no success, no lights appeared to show it was working. After many hours troubleshooting I decided to build the PC out of the case to see if I could get it to boot.
Turns out the BIOS was already updated (to version F11) which was compatible with Ryzen 5600x, although I wasted some hours I was pleased it was working, and the building process going forwards was easy.
I purchased this in July 2021 and I believe the board was manufactured in April 2021. THEREFORE, if you are purchasing after these dates I think you will not need to flash the BIOS anymore and ryzen 5600x will be compatible straight out of the box. Older reviews say you will need to, but now the BIOS comes updated with v.F11 (version F10 is minimum for ryzen 5600). Hopefully this review will save someone else the hours that I wasted trying to flash the BIOS.
Other features. Easy to build with, the slots for cables are in nice positions. This was my first PC build and the board helped keep things simple. The Wi-Fi is really good – it works right out of the box and also comes with some antennae to boost the wifi, now these aren’t needed but I would recommend as they give much better results, they are magnetic so can stick onto the top/side of the PC Case and be hidden as much as possible.
Gigabyte software for RGB (RGB Fusion) is not the best, but that doesn’t detract from the board.
All working fine but BT5 have problem but easy fix you need from website your model motherboard BT5 drivers download
and installed and later off your computer unplugged from power wait for 5 seconds or more on PC and BT5 will work but if again not work repeat the action unplugged from power wait 5 seconds and on PC. if you want your BT5 to work I look on all websites and all popple say AORUS B550 all models with BT5 and WIFI have this bug need wait for updates or buy motherboard not have BT5 and WIFI and just buy pcie wifi card.
Wonderful board compatible with 3rd and 4th gen ryzen processors. Stability is excellent works quite happy with my 3200 RAM.
Slight negative are are you need to update the BIOS before putting in the new or 500 series chips. Thankfully you can do this from the board itself using the USB drive no CPU or RAM needs to be installed first. Knocking one star as the board was missing a Wi-Fi antenna which should have been included but was not.
