Stupidly, I thought this was rechargeable as I must have misread the “charging ports” for “rechargeable”, but that’s okay – it just means this will be going in the bedroom instead of the bathroom, where I’d planned for it.
The mirror itself is lovely. It came well-packaged and protected and thankfully undamaged. It’s 50 cm wide x 40 high and you get 2 different ways of mounting it: you can either attach it to the wall using a separate backing panel, of what looks like hardboard, using the screws and plugs provided, or you can have it freestanding with the separate raised metal base.
There aren’t any instructions for attaching it to the base or for wall mounting, (that I could see), but I guess that you attach it to the base by unscrewing the 5 screws in the mirror and using these. They certainly line up with the holes in the base, so this is what we did.
The base has anti-slip corners, so it’s sturdy.
The mirror is powered by a power adaptor that fits into a port on the side, which then plays a little tune as the mirror switches on and the phone icon on the screen flashes, enabling you to pair your phone, (which was picked up straight away on my phone). A short press of this button brings the lights around the outside of the mirror to life.
It defaults to the brightest cold white light, but by short pressing the button again, you can cycle through the other 2 light colours, (natural and warm).
Holding down this same button gives you stepless dimming from 10% – 100% and then another short press turns the lights off. A long press of this button turns the whole unit off.
It’s a bit fiddly trying to work out which combination of this button does what, but I’m getting used to it.
The bulbs are actual bulb-shaped rather than a strip of illuminated LEDs, which is great and gives it the Hollywood glamour look that it’s trying to recreate.
There are 14 LED bulbs and between them they give great illumination. You also get 2 spare bulbs with wires attached – again no instructions, (that I can find), on how to change these bulbs, but I guess they just twist out and being as there’s a connector on the end of the wire of the spare bulbs, I presume they are of the plug and play variety.
Moving on to connecting your phone/playing music – as said, it connected via Bluetooth quickly to my phone and I played a few songs. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the sound this mirror kicks out – it’s pretty good.
There are also 2 other touch buttons on the mirror to flick back and forward between tracks.
Because the speakers are on the back of the mirror, if you wall mount this, would the backing plate muffle the sound? Plus it being against the wall? I’m not sure, but I can’t see how it wouldn’t, but I haven’t tested that so I may be wrong.
The final touch button on the mirror is to answer calls coming in on your phone. Pressing the call again ends the call.
There are 2 charging ports on the side next to the mains port which, when the mirror has power, are illuminated blue. These are 1x USB-A and 1x USB-C ports so you can charge your phone and laptop, etc when getting ready. Very clever.
The mirror reflection is clear and you also get a separate small 10x magnification mirror which can be attached to the main mirror via the suckers on the back – good for fine details.
My only bugbear is that if you disconnect your phone’s Bluetooth, that button won’t stop flashing on the mirror, (or I haven’t worked out how to stop it yet).
Overall, the mirror is good quality and clear with great illumination and the sound is decent. I really like it.
Brought this for my daughter and after alot of searching and reading reviews I purchased this one and was glad I did.

I hadn’t previously thought there was an issue with the lighting in my bedroom, but the improvement in lighting that this mirror gives is quite shocking, you can literally see every blemish now when I’m doing my make up, although I’m not sure if thats a good thing, or if I was better off not knowing. Although it makes it very obvious that the lights serve a purpose rather than just looking pretty, which they also do.
So to sum up its a well made, quality item that looks amazing when lit up, it comes with spare bulbs and wall fixtures included, I’m really pleased with it and more than happy to recommend it.
The Guanglai Hollywood Vanity Mirror is a nice and stylish mirror with 14 LED lights around the frame providing three separate colour modes and adjustable brightness lighting.
The switch is simple and easy to control, the quality of the mirror is great as it’s very sturdy and I love the fact it has a USB port on the side, it’s very convenient to save the hassle of switching plugs all the time under the desk.

Lovely mirror, the brightness of the lights can be adjusted so you always find the perfect lighting you need. It was also super easy to install – can be mounted to the wall or placed on a table. I have been using it for a few weeks now, and I am very happy with it. The light is perfect for applying makeup but also great for taking selfies or videos.
This is a really nice LED vanity mirror. It looks great on a table/dresser. The LED lights are nice and powerful and the colour modes are great too. The mirror itself is crystal clear and I’ve been told it is very good for doing makeup in the morning when there is minimal natural light outside.
50x42cm measurement is accurate so it’s a decent size but not too big that you’ll struggle to find a suitable place for it to go. Will fit on most desks, drawers, cabinets etc.
It has touch buttons on the front, one for on/off, one to go through the 3 different colour modes, and one to adjust the brightness.
Comes with a small magnifying mirror you can attach, and a couple of spare bulbs, which is handy.
Can’t wait to finish decorating my bedroom and get it in there.
