To be fair it was in amazing condition like new it is so quiet you woukd not know it was there
Purchased on behalf of my father
he is very happy with how it is performing
So a very happy custome
Exceptional value way to pick up a machine that is perfectly capable for most day to day uses. The 2.4Ghz WiFi dongle supplied is adequate but can be cheaply upgraded to a 5Ghz model.
So glad I picked this product and supplier. Super fast delivery, 2 days, and received a phone call from them to just confirm if the PC I ordered is OK for what I need it for. A great idea. Arrived well packed and although I am comfortable with setting up PC’s, this one was all ready for me and Windows 10 Pro was fully updated. Just put in my Microsoft password in the settings window and done. It’s a very quiet running machine and is no slouch. Incorporated in one usb is a wireless adapter but I hard wired so haven’t used it. Because it’s a renewed item I thought I better flip off the lid and check inside. Spotless (puts mine to shame ha ha)
I wanted a computer to sit under my TV and used as a media centre and general PC tasks eg. Emails, web browsing, watching video/movies etc.
Will definitely keep this supplier on my good list. Cheers Tec-it-Out Team.
Sturdy PC, built like a tank, with a good array of ports and near-silent operation. For under 150, I could not get close to this spec on a new PC. I had one slight issue when it arrived but the seller sorted it out immediately and shipped out a replacement part for no extra charge. Machine has been used heavily for around a week now and it’s a dream.
My wife’s computer was starting to creek, so, replace it with new or refurb? The refurb won hands down on spec. (far better than the old one) and price. Very well pleased with the outcome.
This ex-office PC is great value for money and such an improvement on my old laptop which was painfully slow.
Windows 10 boots up in seconds thanks to the operating system being installed on a SSD drive.
Something to be aware of is that these office PC’s often don’t come fitted with a wi-fi adapter as was the case with mine so check first if this is important. If you are unable to connect using an ethernet connection you will have to purchase a usb wi-fi dongle or fit an internal card which I did in about five minutes. If unsure about this the supplier will usually fit one for you.
This is not really a PC for gaming but for most other tasks it works just great.
As a replacement for my old desktop this was one of those rare products that actually exceeded my expectations. It arrived next day well wrapped and all the instructions that I needed to set it up. It may be reconditioned but, up to now, I’m more than pleased with it.
One small (very small) criticism is that mine wasn’t Wi-Fi enabled which, as far as I can recall, wasn’t mentioned in the description. In my case it wasn’t an issue because I use an Ethernet connection and a relatively inexpensive dongle would have solved the problem if I didn’t.
Because there are so many version when you check them out on the HP website, it would be nice to be provided with a sheet with appropriate description and position of all the connections. I had to search and search. Some pictures in Black did not help! Which leads me to my personal main negative. Despite knowing what it looked like and dimensions before ordering. It is only when you place it on the desk you realize the massive black slab, like in 2001. Unless you are a Goth, it is not easy to see some items, as well as ignoring it when set aside, unless you seat the matching Monitor Black off screen on top, and a black keyboard in front of it. Perfect for a Goth.
On the positive side, it is so far a nice item to have for sure. Lovely up to date spec save the missing WIFI. Almost every comprehensive connections. Very quiet fan so far. Surprising sweet speakers sound. Unobtrusive disc. The ‘slab’ is at least thin on one side ,and convenient to place on a desk with the Screen and keyboard as suggested above. .
My wife’s PC recently lost the will to live and went to the great scrapyard in the sky. So rather than fiddle around fixing the old one, I decided to just buy one “off the shelf”. Previously I have always bought all the necessary components and built PC’s, then installed Windows, yaddy yaddy ya, but I couldn’t be bothered. This one is apparently “restored”, rather than new, but it was clean, tidy and well packed, so what’s not to like. We just hooked it up to all the (miles of spaghetti) appropriate leads (mouse, VDU, etc, etc), switched it on and it happily fired up Windows 10 64 bit Pro, in about 10 seconds. The Intel quad core (3.2 meg) processor is fast enough for our needs and it runs remarkably silently. If it subsequently bursts into flames, or tries to go for world domination, I will report back. But so far it works perfectly.
This PC is good value and good performance. The inside is spotless and the only slight disappointment was that the SSD drive was not fastened down. I reported this to the supplier who said that, as it is solid state and needs to leave room for extra drives, there is no strong reason to fasten it down. I have added another drive (also SSD) and it has performed well over the last month (it was a Christmas present for a friend). Would recommend.
This is the second desktop I have had from IT Buffs. Absolutely a fantastic upgrade to an older slower pc. These refurbished i5 ex-business desktops from 2013 or 2014 are as fast as those you can currently buy. Mine have been with HP 800 series G1 3.2/3.3GHz with the 256GB SSD and 8GB RAM. The SSD improves the start-up speed of your pc. If you need further storage it is easy to install a 1TB or 2TB HDD within the unit. My units have DVDRW drive installed – this is a must if you want to create a DVD data disc or similar copy.
The installed SSD is smaller than old type HDD, the same size of a 2.5inch laptop drive, so there is no fixing. It is just hanging inside the pc on its power and SATA cables. Not a good practice but appears common practice with the resellers, but again it is very easy to fix it to the drive bay: either by an adapter tray from Amazon c.5 or simply cable-tying to the internal tray located beneath the HDD extra storage drive tray.
The front of the unit has both USB3 and USB2 ports. This is a big advantage over the similarly priced HP 8300 desktop.
Starts up first time on an already installed Windows 10 1909 edition 64bit OS as “user”. Easy to change to your name and add other desktop users.
HP Support web page allows latest upgrades for all of the original drivers, including to the system bios. This was not part of the seller refurbishment process, but would be easy for most users to navigate, download and install.
You will need to buy a version of Microsoft Office separately and install this yourself.
There is a desktop link to create an emergency recovery drive or disc ROM. The version of Windows 10 installed by the seller on this pc does not allow creation of Recovery Drive direct from the OS, but the supplied link downloads a Microsoft setup version of a similar thing. That will be good enough for most users to work with should your pc ever misbehave in the future.
I would recommend my friends and colleagues buy this pc.
And I would buy another of these units from the IT Buffs supplier.
When I ran diagnostics on this machine, it reported as an HP ProDesk 600 G1. I contacted ‘The IT Buffs’, who immediately offered to replace it. I chose instead to get a new fascia, easily changed at home, as the supplied one had no slot for the optical drive that was obviously lurking but unable to get out!
The PC came with Win 10 Pro already activated. Setting up a new computer is among my least favourite tasks and I’d already started, so wasn’t keen to send it back. I’ve got the SSD, RAM and processor I paid for – and I think it’s a real bargain at under 170 with a guarantee. The computer works quickly and quietly, has enough USB slots for all my drives & dongles, connected seamlessly to assorted peripherals, and even has a few bells & whistles that I don’t need.
As far as I can tell, the difference between the EliteDesk and ProDesk is a tweak in the motherboard. I’m not bothered about it – my mis-named computer works fine for my needs – but it’s good to know this supplier would have exchanged it. What I have is efficiently workmanlike. It’s certainly a vast improvement on my ancient laptop (also HP – they build things to last!)
If you’re looking for greased lightning and advanced graphics, you’re going to have to pay more. But even though mine’s a superficially inferior product, it’s a very satisfactory piece of kit at a great price, from a helpful vendor. I read reviews of refurbs from half a dozen sellers before choosing this one, and I’m glad I bought from them.
Fantastic piece. I have to say it doesn’t look refurbished at all! At the moment, 3 days since delivery this pc is working like a charm.
CPU is efficient. Solid disk makes a massive difference. So far so good!
Great piece of kit for the price, out of the box it booted in 4 seconds with three attached monitors (2x display port and 1x vga) and a few peripherals, my only gripe is that the SSD (Kingston 256Gb) is not mounted and was just hanging on the machine. This is a perfect PC for non gaming needs!
Mine was supplied by secondlife-it, but there seems to be an ever changing array of sellers. It is unclear how much refurbishment was carried out before resale, but the interior was clean and with a 3.2GHz chip, 8Gb RAM and a SSHD, running Windows10 Professional, it operates fast and very smoothly. Activating Windows10 and took a little time but was quite straightforwards. Don’t bother with the 128Gb hard drive version – the operating system and essential software like Office will take half of it. You will need to buy Office as only Windows is included, but nevertheless, the SSHD should ensure a long life and you would easily pay double for the same performance/capacity if bought new.
Item delivered quickly and as described. The CPU was slightly higher spec than advertised (i.e. i5 4590 Vs i5 4570). Did not come with keyboard or mouse but wasn’t a concern as I had them from my previous PC. Overall very happy since only paid about half of what a new PC from Currys with similar specs would have been. Case was clean, no obvious internal dust and very few scuff marks.
