This worked flawlessly in my opinion, and as you can see it is extremely inexpensive. I would probably recommend buying multiple ones of these, because with anything USB-C that you plug into anything, there’s a chance that it could break or get bent but since the price is no more higher than a regular USB type-c cable, I don’t see the issue with buying multiple ones. Do I still like the official Nintendo dock better? Of course, but then again this would be more suitable for traveling. But also, you can’t beat the cheaper price than the official Nintendo dock which can range around $60 or more so what do you got to lose?

So glad I found a pocketable USB C to HDMI adapter that actually works with the Switch. This thing is reasonably priced and does what it’s supposed to, with the added bonus that it doesn’t look like a baby toy.
HDMI and power input seem to have been made a hair too small, as they both took some real pressure to plug in, but nothing broke and they both work. Video outputs normally

As a reminder to potential buyers, the Nintendo Switch is designed not to output video unless it’s charging at full power! You need to plug in the original power adapter (or another power adapter with the same charging output), or else it won’t work, and neither will any other display adapter including the original Switch dock. It’s a pain, but it’s Nintendo’s faul

Just plug in your original Switch dock power cord and you’re good. It worked just the same for me as the original dock. N was nice to hook it up to the iPad for a screen when on the move. Definitely one of my favorite pieces of tech lately.

For those who don’t know, you need a special intermediary device to connect your Nintendo Switch to the HDMI port of a TV. We tried several cables, connectors, multipliers, hubs, and none of them worked. In fact, most of them specifically indicate that they are not compatible with Nintendo Switch. This one is and it works fine.

Note that you have to have a powerful PD charge connection. When we tried it with a low powered PD charge at first, it did not work. But when we connected a more powerful charger to the PD charge port, it worked fine.

And yes, I believe this can be even more practical than the original Switch dock due to its smaller size. This takes up less space, has less pieces, and is easier to carry. The price of $20 CAD at the time of writing is quite reasonable. Overall, it is a good device and I recommend it.

Hxwlo Switch Dock is a versatile gem! Not only is it a seamless docking station for my Nintendo Switch, but it’s also my go-to for connecting other devices like my MacBook to the TV. The HDMI/PD/USB 3.0 features make it incredibly convenient. Portable and reliable, it’s a must-have accessory for Nintendo Switch and beyond.

I had started a return with this as it would not connect. When I read using the Nintendo power cord made a difference, I tried my spare cord. It worked. So it is necessary for at least my not-smart tv.

I finally found the holy grail for adapters. This adapter will work to get my switch, deck and tablets to all use my bluetooth gaming controller, send the video to my campers TV and charge the device with pass through charging. Every other adapter I had tried would work for some of these, but not all.

The additional benefit is that this unit is TINY! It fits in my steam deck case easily, so no more need to lug around docking stations for all my toys when traveling.

I ordered this as a secondary Switch dock, but I also wanted to try it on a different application. My son has a Chromebook and I wanted to see if this would function as a “dock” for that. And sure enough it does. The dock sends power to the Chromebook and the HDMI out works as it should. This is a great little device and I would definitely order it again.
