I needed a headset as I work as a volunteer for the Bat Conservation Trust Helpline UK. As a volunteer I couldn’t afford an expensive headset but needed something that was compatible with GLO com and also worked on my iMac. This headset is excellent, easy to connect – I use it with the USB C Dongle which is supplied with it but it can also be connected via Bluetooth or wired. It charges really quickly and comes with a USB C cable, charge lasts really well easily long enough for my 6 hour shift. The sound quality is great – I had no problem hearing callers and they could hear me well too. Very pleased with it and I would recommend it to anyone working from home taking calls or video calls.
I often find it difficult to get over ear headphones that fit properly and don’t slip around – I have a small head but these are fine and also comfortable.
I use this headset in Teams with my company issued Windows 10 laptop. I used to use a wired headset but the wire keep getting tangled in my chair, so wireless was clearly the way to go.
I’ve also tried it with my phone but not enough to know if it shows the same problem as in Teams.
It starts off OK, it always shows that its connected be I go to make a call or answer a call and there is only silence. Its fixed by disconnecting/connecting in the Windows control panel … until next time.
By that time the call has usually been dropped.
Loose a star for that.
It may be unfair blaming the headset like this as its part of the Laptop/Windows/Headset system that exhibits the problem and I have no way to break it down further.
Really simple – USB C dongle in PC, shows up straight away in Teams. Comfortable to wear, easy to charge (again USB C) and decent sound quality. I would have liked somewhere to store the dongle on the headset, but not a big deal.
Best feature – red mute light on the end of the mic boom. If you have used the mute on the side of the headset, you can see on your camera image when you are on mute. Worst – I think when you hit mute/unmute, everyone in the meeting hears ‘mute on’ or ‘mute off’ being spoken by the headset’s disembodied voice!
Really good headphones, people can hear me, the sound is very good and controllable through the PC or the headphones. The mute on/off doesn’t seem to work but the power on/off is good for pausing media players.
Only issue is that a few months ago I noticed one arm was cracked, I thought it had been accidentally banged at some point. Then I’ve progressively found the plastic on the arms has been failing. On both arms. So it seems to be an issue with that.
I’ve had them for 2 years so good use out of them but I’d still expect a bit longer.
Quite impressed with the build quality of these. They are solid and very impressive. Unfortunately, my work laptop has Bluetooth restrictions and both myself and my IT dept couldn’t get them to work, but IT confirmed this was due to settings on laptop that couldn’t be fixed. Not the fault of the headset.
Connectivity easy and stays reliable. Sound through headset and mic is very clear with no top-end harshness. The only slight niggle is that you can’t hear your own voice through the cans. Great value for money. Comfortable to wear – though I only use them for an hour or two at a time, so no idea longer than this. Thoroughly recommended at this price. Next step up is over 100 – not worth it for my purposes (online tutoring via Zoom/Teams).
Great for meetings and isolating speaking voices.
I had broken my old work earphones and needed something fast.
These are a great and cost effective headset for meetings.
If you are looking to do more that just chat, they do cancel out most of the background, if you are looking to use them for music, you will hear the singer clearly but the instrumentation is muted. Same applies if you are watching or listening to any streaming service and there are multiple layers of noise, it will again make the speaking voice much earlier to hear.
I bought this for work, it has been a performer. Not sure how much of noise cancellation it does but I think it is reasonable. Volume is very good. You have to be careful it doesn’t pair with another device such as a phone, else it will not connect to your laptop or another device, it simply will not work and no communication will be possible with it.
I was looking around for a wireless headset for Teams meetings and didn’t want to spend a fortune. As I only intended using it for meetings I also wasn’t too bothered about sound quality or mic quality as long as it was clear. What I did want was great battery life and something that was comfortable without making you feel hot in the summer. Battery life of these is superb, I only need to charge it once every few weeks! Call quality is great, all things considered. The headphones are clear and apparently my mic sound clear too. The mute button doesn’t work with Teams which is slightly frustrating but really not that big a deal. The main issue is the padding on the earphones which isn’t sufficient and they start to hurt your ears in meetings longer than an hour. That said, they are light and don’t make your ears feel hot and they aren’t too expensive either.
As with a few of the reviews on here mine have snapped where the headband meets the swivel part of the cup on both sides, I don’t have a huge head so looks to be an inherent weakness, mine have lasted 15 months of full time office use, I’ve superglued it back together so lets see how much more it can take.
The good is they sound decent and have been pretty comfortable to wear for the last year and a bit, call quality at both ends is impressive for the money, I’ve recommended them to others but probably wouldn’t now due to the snapping issues, if an updated version are released I’d happily buy again.
Bought these as a replacement for a Jabra headset that finally disintegrated after continual daily use since March 2020.
I have quite a large head (not Mekon standard but above average) so far east headphones can be tight and uncomfortable. This headset fits quite well. The padding on the head bar doesn’t cause any pressure sores, the ear padding is also comfortable after a long day on calls. On a hot day, ears aren’t all sweaty either.
The downside for me is the earpieces seal onto the ear too well. When speaking you get that ‘underwater’ feeling when you can’t hear your own voice. I like the audio feedback so I don’t shout or sound nasal when speaking. Some apps will allow a feedback setting which is OK but not ideal for me. That lost them a star in my rating.
Audio volume and quality is good. They won’t replace your Dr Dre’s or Skullcandies but for audiobooks and general listening they are quite sharp and clear.
Battery life is very good. On calls all day drain is about 60%. Full charge on USB 3.0 in about 3 hours. Over time, battery life will reduce depending on the quality of the fitted battery.
Bluetooth connectivity is dead easy and range is good. They do support 2 devices but how to get the second device to work without disconnecting the first is a mystery.
The mute/answer/end call button travels a long way. A surface button would be a lot better but it works and for the price, I can’t really complain.
As an all day calls professional workshorse, Jabra is the brand, price is the downside. For intermittent use plus Twitter spaces and Teams, this headset is good value and performs well.
I ordered this headphone approx. 9 months ago and have been using it every week since then. Almost daily. The comfort wearing it is great and I can easily use it for several hours at once.
The microphone is easily hidable in the ear cub, which makes it great for using it as a simple headphone for music and so on too. You can pair it with 2 items and while in a webex meeting, you continue to hear the conference while your mobile is ringing, great!
The battery life is incredible! Dozens of hours and then just recharge with the USB C cable of your mobile or laptop. Also a cable, which let’s you attach the headphone to a 3.5mm jack is included. Works in every airplane, for instance. Try that with other nowadays earphones.
Lately, one of my cushions started to come off. However, the people of jlab are super nice and without any issues, replace my headphones within 2 days (have to wait for the shipping though). I don’t know, when I experienced such a helpful customer service last time!
Overall, still happy with it. Great buy!
I have been using a set of wired headphones (provided by my employer) with my office laptop for Teams meetings. Using the wired one has been a hassle and I was looking for a wireless/bluetooth to give me some freedom of movement.
After researching on Amazon I came across JLab Go Work wireless headset. I went for it after seeing the number of ratings it has received and the reviews looked good.
Set up was easy and I was connected in no time. The ear pads are well padded and sit well (a bit tight for me) on the ears. The padding on the headside makes it more comfortable.
The sound quality is good and this has been a relief during my calls.
A few improvements that it could do with:
1. I wear specs and with the temple behind my ear and the headphones on the ear, the temple was sandwiched between my ear and back of my head. This was a bit painful. The work around for me was to place the temple of the specs on my ear rather than behind it. Pls check pics for reference.
2. I wish the earphone arms could be extended further so the earphones sat a little lower on my ears.
3. I realised that this is not a proper ‘MS Teams’ compatible. So when I press the mute button on the headphone, it doesn’t mute on the Teams app. This could be a very helpful feature.
4. Also when I call someone, I hear no ringing when the ‘Calling…’ is flashing on Teams. I think this can be fixed with a software/firmware update?
All in all a decent headset and since I started using it only a few days ago will take some time to getting used to.
I tested this against headsets from popular brands such as the Jabra evolve 2 65 which is 4x the price and it won by a huge margin when it came to microphone noise cancelling and mic sound quality. Thus I bought a pair for everyone in our office. Everyone fell in love with their pair until we all noticed our headsets breaking in the same location – both sides of the headband where it meets the swiveling part of the speakers, just under the two screws. This could be down to a design flaw that makes it easy for cracks to emerge and propagate especially when it is weakened due to cold weather such as when left in an office overnight in winter.
summing up:
pros:
1. Great sound quality
2. Class leading mic noise cancellation
3. Good set of features
4. Comfortable
5. Good price
Cons:
1. Weak construction
2. Muting does not sync with teams
3. Could do with a dongle for laptops
4. Noise cancelling mic does not work in wired mode
It’s very rare I do a review without Amazon prodding me to remind me, but this is one of the rare ones. Bought these to go with a new iPad Air that no longer has a headset mini jack socket three weeks or so ago, and have been using them a lot since.
Very, very comfortable while wearing my glasses. Possibly the best of the headphones I’ve bought over the years.
Decent bass. They’re on ear and have thick foam padding, so the sound isn’t completely isolated, and I can still stay reasonably aware of what’s going on around me. For me, that’s a plus.
Has a function to provide foldback from the mic, when used with Bluetooth, so you can hear yourself clearly when you’re in chat, which is very nice.
There’s no charger in the box, but it comes with a USB-C to USB-C charging cable and USB-C to headset mini jack cable. You can use any USB to USB-C cable with any of the dozens of chargers you already own, though.
I’ve been using it for chat on Discord and PSN, routing through my iPad while playing on my laptop, and it works brilliantly. It’s just as good plugged into my work laptop with the mini jack cable for Teams calls, or for just watching video on devices.
For the price I would absolutely recommend, without hesitation.
I bought this at a discount for 31 – after having used it for a week or so I wouldn’t have paid any more for it.
The Good:
– Connection is a breeze
– Blutooth 5 gives a great range
– Can connect to two devices at once (more on that later)
– Exceptionally comfortable for long periods of use
– Battery life is very good
The Bad
– Multipoint connection works, BUT it temporarily mutes the other feed when connected. Why this is an issue is that if I’m in a conference call and it randomly connects to another device, it mutes my meeting. Annoying
– Noise cancellation… doesn’t work very well at all – but thats not surprising for an ‘on ear’ set. You need a cup thats over the ear for that
Clearing up the Microsoft Teams issue.
– You can mute the microphone on the headset with a button on the right cup. When you press it a little red light glows at the end of the mike – great as a hint nobody can hear you. This button is a mike cut off, meaning that when you press it, it won’t register in teams that you’ve muted the mike – but your voice won’t come through on the meeting with the button depressed.
Worth the price at anything under 35
Great headset. Light weight. Good build quality.
Nice mic boom.
Comfy for mid term use but slightly overtight for all day use, leaving ears feeling a little squished
Sound quality is very good for meetings and music but slightly over boomy on bass.
They present an agile and detailed sound with music, certainly not tiresome but the bass might be slightly too aggressive for some. Not noticeable on voice calls though (diff Freq).
Mute light on mic boom almost impossible to see (maybe my eye sight) but love the mute button the headset rather than using Teams or handset. Nice touch. However button is mechanical and has got stuck on mute a couple of times (just press in centre to release properly).
Range is very good. I can still get signal all round my house outside with laptop in lounge. Approx 15m max as stated in manual.
Switching between connections not always mooth but not sure if that’s Teams or Bluetooth adaptor. Sadly the set doesn’t come with a usb adaptor so need to buy one too (about 10 for a decent one v5.0).
Quick charge times and good accessories.
Batt life so far is brilliant – a charge per week being more than enough and I am a mid to heavy user – maybe 5 hrs per day for meetings.
The price is unreal at just over 49 compared to rivals at 3 or 4x price. Very pleased.
