Lego set that’s fun to build and enjoy no matter the age.
Good quality product.
Construction time differs depending on who’s building it. But this was fun to build and enjoyable.
Instructions are easy to follow.
Nice overall product.
This is the new Lego sandman’s tower. My daughter loves Lego and this was no exception. The set has 723 pieces and took a few days to complete even though she’s a Lego expert.
The instructions are easy to follow and the pieces are the usual Lego quality.
The price is fairly high but Lego keeps its value so would make a brilliant gift for adults, children, young or old.
As you would expect from the brand, this is a high quality model with (mostly) easy to follow instructions.
There are a couple of official build / model options included in the instructions which is nice.
As everything these days however, you really don’t get a lot for your money and this set is no exception. Its way too expensive for what it is ultimately, regardless of the quality. If its on offer though and you like this series of models then its a great pickup as the colours in the set offer some great options to combine in your own constructions if you prefer not to build just the official options.
There’s magic in these bricks, each one a promise of adventure. The tower stands not just as a testament to creativity but as a portal to other worlds, crafted by little hands. It’s more than a toy; it’s a doorway to imagination, inviting stories yet to be told.
Another fantastic LEGO Playset!
Build was straight forward, the instructions were easy to follow but It took my son a few hours to build & quickly incorporated this set along with all his other lego sets to start his creative play & let his imaginations run wild.
The minifigures look amazing and so does the actual set itself. Really love that there are different parts that you can customise & make it your own as my son loves to customise anyways and I feel this now gives him even more room to be creative with it.
Once again, Lego has not failed to impress.
Building this set was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reigniting my childhood love for constructing and storytelling. The flexibility to choose between a fortress and a tower sparked my creativity, offering a delightful challenge. The attention to detail in the minifigures and mythical creatures added depth to the play experience. It’s been a wonderful way to unwind after long days, though I found some of the instructions a tad perplexing, requiring a bit of improvisation.
This is as you would expect a very well made set.
The instructions are nice and clear, with easy to follow step by step guides to each part in a logical order.
There is a lot going on here and my grandchildren not only loved building it, they spent hours playing with the various parts. There seemed to be some little animals as well as the action figures, which they found very engaging.
This set is very bright, with quite nice golden parts on the main structure that make it stand out as a fantasy castle.
I fully expect my grandchildren to get many more hours of fun from this on their regular visits.
Value wise, this is great, as you do get plenty of parts to play with once the main structure is built and as it’s lego, you know the quality is top drawer as ever.
5 easy stars all round!
Having the link between the TV show and what you can make is a brillant way to extend consumption of TV into being a bit more creative. Building following the instructions or just using the parts to make your own super creation.
It is difficult to fault lego, the instructions are clear, there are two designs you can follow. So if bored with one, tear it down and make the other. The custom parts really make this unique and fun and looks the part when assembled. The separate characters mean a kids imagination can run crazy with the TV show providing some inspiration.
This is the official Lego Dreamzzz set so buy with confidence.
This is quite an impressive set. Lego have reduced their packaging in recent years so the box is a lot smaller than expected, but that’s deceptive as there is a lot to do in this set. I like the fact that there are two different build options and lots of pieces (over 700 in total) so there is a massive amount of replayability with this set. It’s tied in with the Dreamzzz story by lego and you can also watch videos online and buy more add on’s to this set. My little boy loved the mini figures that came with staffs and swords.
Highly recommended, this would make a wonderful gift.
This is a great way to get kids to work together and they are loving it! It’s a bit fiddly with some smaller pieces and I wouldn’t let a younger child work with it (hence the higher recommended age for this set over other sets) but older children should be fine.
This set is taking a good bit longer to assemble than it normally takes our kids normally which is great to keep them quiet and busy – but that’s to be expected having two different options to build it. Mum’s not complaining!
Great for the summer holidays or when the kids are off school in bad weather. Highly recommended.
The inclusion of two building options adds a layer of versatility to the playset. It allows children to explore different configurations, stimulating creativity and providing varied play scenarios. The spider and bird animal figures bring a touch of charm to the playset. These additions enhance the fantasy element of the Sandman’s Tower, creating a world where kids can let their imagination soar. The inclusion of five minifigures adds a diverse cast to the playset. These characters open up possibilities for storytelling and role-playing, allowing kids to create their own magical adventures within the Sandman’s Tower. The Sandman’s Tower excels in fostering imaginative play. The fantasy setting, coupled with the diverse characters and building options, encourages kids to create their own narratives, enhancing cognitive and storytelling skills. While the exterior boasts impressive detail, the tower’s interior feels a bit empty and could benefit from additional furniture or play features.
This Lego set knocks the socks off anything my brother and I got for many presents over the years. The difference in custom pieces is crazy. Hardly anything that we got was a custom shape that only really did one thing, it was mostly figures, clothes for them and normal bricks or boards of Lego.
Now you get all sorts of exotic looking fantasy weapons and bits of architecture. There’s over 700 pieces in this kit so your kids are going to get a lot of build and rebuild about it, because of course, Lego is only for the age 9 listed on the box, right? The instruction manual is kind of insane and all pictorial and there’s two different builds you can make from the kit which is a good touch. I mean, we always built our own stuff with our Lego but being given two different things to build as a suggestion is a great idea.
Sure, Lego is and always has been expensive, but it’s enduringly popular for a reason. Plenty of my friends who are looking at their retirement in less than a decade still collect Lego in IP that they enjoy, and I still have all our childhood Lego.
I think if you get this kit, for you or your kids, you’ll get a lot of value out of it and if you haven’t played with modern Lego it’ll be a bit of a revelation.
(The Before Time being the late 80s when Mad Max 2 is set, from whence the phrase originates)
Ordered for my Lego-mad son who can make Lego sets up in no time at all and loves to then take them apart and rebuild them… this looked perfect as it can be made into two different items – the castle or a fortress. Both of which are great to be played with once built too.
The instruction manual was easy to follow and the pieces separated into numbered bags which made finding the pieces easier and more practical.
My son loved making the castle and it looked brilliant. He kept it up for one day and then couldn’t resist taking it apart and making the fortress. Since then he has added lots of his Lego men into the set and has made a little game with the characters defending the fort against enemies!
It’s fantastic quality, very entertaining and easy to follow, so very good value for money considering you get two sets for the price of one, without it taking up lots of space too!
This is a review of “LEGO DREAMZzz The Sandman’s Tower, Castle Toy Playset for Kids, Boys & Girls, with 2 Building Options, Featuring Spider and Bird Animal Figures plus 5 Minifigures, Fantasy Birthday Gifts 71477”.
This arrived packaged in a very high quality retail box, which was beautifully illustrated.
I got it thinking that it was like a ‘Princess’ castle type of set, knowing that my little neice is mad into anything ‘Princessy’ and not realising that in fact it is linked to a specific show on Amazon Prime and that it isn’t really a Princessy castle, it seem to be more oriented towards young boys!
It’s being held back for a special occasion but I’ve no doubt that she will love it nevertheless – and its is great to see that Lego is still producing high quality sets like this for young children.
Lego has pulled off the incredible trick of appealing to children as well as adults with an obsessive following from all ages. This is rightly so because they make superb construction toys and sets aimed at all ages with many being a crossover which can be an important family thing. This is one of those sets.
When I say crossover I mean there is an age when a child is into Lego but perhaps needs bit of help or encouragement but is still well able to do the set with this input. In some ways this is my favourite era because I have five grandchildren two of whom are about the correct age for this set but like granddad to be there to assist where required. I’m all in on that to be honest. The twin grandchildren I have are eight and whilst not obsessive Lego fans they are happy to create with me and for me that makes my life just a bit happier.
To be honest if your child is really into Lego then this would be well doable from six or seven years old but if like my grandchildren they are occasional users then it works as a means to give yourselves time together.
The set itself is part of the Dreamz series which I believe is aimed at children’s imagination and I guess it is a bit weird. A sort of fantasy/sci-fi crossover thing that designed to tap into a young child’s enthusiasm for the oddball stuff that makes up their inner world. I think it works and the set when completed does make a great shelf sculpture. With a few of them you would have a cool setup, really.
Which, brings me onto the thing about there are two builds in the box. There are but will it be actually done? When I was young back in the 70’s as soon as something was built it was taken down to be made into something else. Today that’s not the case because Lego make the finished item so appealing it’s not likely to be disassembled and made into something else, which is a shame. Of course if your child does really pick up on Lego and becomes a sort of hobby builder then this set does offer some unique parts that can feed into that.
Minifigs are of course mandatory and these are pretty cool ones. So much so my wife who loves Minifigs looked at them with some envy.
Price? Well, Lego is expensive and probably more than it needs to be but, regardless of the other manufacturers out there making compatible stuff at far less cost, there is something ineffably good about Lego that justifies the cost.
Overall, a pretty good set especially if like me you can ‘help’ your kids/grandchildren….
My son is totally mad on lego he is going to love this set its fantastic value for money this and as we all know lego is always made to a really high standard of quality this set has really good design and detail to it and will definitely make my son happy its also good for kids learning building skills I definitely recommend this produc
Nice figures and interesting concept. I found the series on Amazon Prime and am going to start watching with my nephew so the set has more meaning when we build together. I had a look at the Lego builder App and we are definitely going to give it a try. You can use it as a guide to help build as an individual, or you can use it to provide individual team member tasks to turn it in to a team build. I didn’t realise Lego were doing this. Definitely going to give it a try. That’s a brilliant idea for getting more people/children involved and keeping them interested.
I love anything that encourages creativity in my daughter, we sat and built the first part of this set in an hour or so. The instructions are super easy to follow and although the box says 9+ my 6 year old daughter managed without very much help. Its quite a big build but when following the guide theres stages that you can hold let them play and then start on the next bit the next night, this helps keep her engaged and gives us a nightly acitivity.
The set includes some pieces I have never encountered before and thats great, overall I’d say this is a great set that helps teach kids how to follow instructions in a fun and easy way. Theres plenty of pieces that mean kids can get creative and build things from their own imagination too. Very good set.
I got this for my wife as she has started to do building / craft things in the evening to relax and I think she has built all the Book Nooks on Amazon so I’ve reverted to Lego! This is a really nice kit, it’s the usual Lego quality and has two building options so it will keep my wife entertained for a long time, the great thing about it is you can dismantle it and then maybe in a few months build it again, it’s a great way to pass time and de-stress.
This is a beautiful set, perfect for kids & fun for all ages! I do personally think that the age rating could defiantly come a bit lower, maybe 8 or even 7?
It gives you two versions to build as well so you can get a bit more entertainment out of it once you’ve finished one.
It’ll definitely keep the kids busy for a while and looks really nice once its been completed!
The step by step guide that comes with it is very descriptive.
Knocking off one star because I do think the price is a bit too much compared to other sets.
I’d never actually heard of the show Dreamzzz until this set arrived, I’ve not watched, so I’ve no idea how closely this matches up to the locations within the show.
What you do have, is the option of two different builds in the one kit, a slender tower or a shorter & broader fort, so I guess it gives this a little twist to it, in that you’ll be more likely to take apart & build again.
Not the most complex of Lego sets, but it is rated for ages 9+.
If you’re kids are fans of the show, it’s probably 5 stars for them.
Hey, it’s Lego…you can’t really go that far wrong.
This 723 sandman’s tower Dreamzzz set arrives in a nicely branded box, with the Dreamzzz line Lego seem to have reduced their significantly oversized packaging, this is a large set but the packaging remains smaller than expected, the box includes a detailed instructional booklet and the pieces are seperated into numbered bags to facilitate easing the build.
The Lego dreamzzz sets are a relatively new addition to the Lego universe, they differentiate themselves from most other sets by offering two alternative builds within the same set, they incorporate some fantastically over the top designs where it seems anything is possible and come with beautifully detailed mini figures.
This set incorporates two differing builds, the sandman’s tower and a fortress, the tower is tall and slim, whilst the fortress is shorter but significantly wider, both offer either a lovely display piece or replay value for those included minifigures.
We built two recently released Dreamzzz sets with both our granddaughters yesterday, along with both of her parents (who have better eyesight for those smaller pieces) to facilitate a quicker build.
Unlike the other set which provided a catlike creature, this set has far more replay value largely due to it’s representing a building, the minifigures can be utilised within it and it also includes two, albeit very strange vehicles too.
On completion this set looks amazing, the tower is a useable platform for many hours of fun, however the secondary build was observed to be even better, the fortress being wider and more easily accessible.
As a playable set this item is difficult to fault, both included builds look great, both provide many hours of play and both make a fantastic display piece for any bedroom once playing has finished.
The included minifigures are once again fantastic, however they can actually be utilised here, both builds offering spaces for little hands to place them throughout the tower or fortress, or upon those weird included vehicles.
This is a great set that provides plenty of replay value, along with a couple of weird vehicles and exceptional minifigures, both builds look great, just make sure you try out the secondary fortress build too as they may just prefer it.
Children from 8, even lower? (despite the 9+ rating),
can have a lot of focused building fun with this colourful and detailed Lego set.
Now I do prefer the original bricks where you can build from imagination,
than following instructions…
But it’s still a lot of fun and once completed,
you can break it down and build the other version!
With this many pieces, you hope they’ll keep all the pieces organised and not all over the floorotherwise it’ll be a miracle for a piece or several to not go missing…
The LEGO DREAMZzz The Sandman’s Tower is a captivating playset that stands out in the LEGO universe. Aimed at kids, both boys and girls, this set offers a wonderful blend of fantasy and building challenge. The theme of the set, centered around a whimsical Sandman’s Tower, sparks imagination and encourages creative storytelling, making it an excellent choice for children who love both construction and fantasy play.
The set’s design is intricate and thoughtfully detailed, typical of LEGO’s high standards. The pieces fit together seamlessly, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, making the building process enjoyable and educational. The end result is a stunning castle tower that has various interactive features, adding to the play value after the build is complete.
One of the highlights of this set is its appeal to a wide age range. While it’s challenging enough for older kids to stay engaged, it’s also not too complex for younger builders with a bit of help. Additionally, the quality of the LEGO pieces is, as always, top-notch, ensuring durability and a long lifespan for the set.
However, it’s worth noting that the set contains many small pieces, which might be a bit daunting for very young children or first-time LEGO builders. Also, the price point might be a bit high, but given the complexity and the hours of engagement it offers, it seems justified.
The last time I saw a Lego kit was in the 70s. There was no instruction booklet, you just used your imagination. I saw this and thought WOW! Kids these days have the most amazing toys to play with. This kit is stunning. Comes in bags with ‘story led building instructions’ for the over 9’s. But then reality kicked in… The poor parents. Imagine if a couple of bits go missing? These items are tiny. Easy to lose. The time and patience needed to build one of these is targeted at a specific type of child, with nimble fingers, who likes a challenge. Now I’ve seen inside the box, sadly I can’t think of one child in my extended family who would want to try this… I wish I’d looked at the video where the first second shows a small portion of the unbuilt kit before showing the amazing finished item. I have taken pictures of what you get, if like me, you have not seen one of these kits before. I wonder why they chose to not show the ‘before’ pictures, I expect because most people who know Lego, know what to expect, they know about all the tiny bits. I was kinda shocked when I took it all out TBH.
Anyway, I am sure that for Lego veterans and the massive Lego fan club, this toy will be adored, after all, Lego is the biggest toy manufacturer in the world!
