The Mallez Stainless Steel Griddle Grill Spatula is a robust and efficient tool for any grilling enthusiast. The 6 x 5-inch heavy-duty spatula is designed with beveled edges, making it perfect for flipping burgers, pancakes, or any other griddle food with precision. The beveled edges slide under food effortlessly, ensuring that even the most delicate items can be turned without damage.
Crafted from high-quality stainless steel, the spatula is both durable and easy to clean, resisting rust and corrosion. The beech wood handle offers a comfortable grip and adds a touch of elegance to the tool. It’s also long enough to keep your hands safe from the heat, yet provides excellent control over the cooking process.
The spatula’s large surface area is ideal for handling bigger items, and the beveled edges also aid in chopping food directly on the griddle, adding versatility to its use. Whether you’re a professional chef or a weekend barbecue warrior, the Mallez spatula is a reliable addition to your grilling arsenal.
Overall, this spatula strikes the right balance between form and function. Its sturdy construction, coupled with a sleek design, makes it a must-have for anyone who takes their grilling seriously. It’s not just a spatula; it’s an essential tool that enhances the grilling experience. With its help, you can expect your griddle creations to be flipped and served to perfection.
I love this burger flipper – it is well made, a good size, just the right amount of flexibility and the all-round sharp edge makes it super easy to use for things like onions, eggs, mushrooms etc – no more faffing about with two spatulas.
My friends and family like me to make smash burgers so I have a patty press but this makes it a bit unnecessary – its large size and strong construction makes it easy to press the burger flat with this flipper instead. It has a decent amount of flexibility so I have to put pressure on the back of the flipper to squish the burgers but that’s fine.
I’m very serious about my grilling and burgers, so to give the flipper a good testing – purely for review purposes, you understand – I made the gorgeous beef and chorizo burgers in my photos. It was an absolute pleasure to use this flipper.
I imagine this will also come in handy for summer barbecues – I’ll be able to move stuff to and from my hot and cool zones like a pro. A great addition to my kitchen armoury.
I work in a kitchen and this is so handy to use on the flat top grill for burgers, steaks etc
It’s extremely good quality, very sturdy, not flimsy like some, has a nice weight to it and the perfect angle for the height of our grill.
The sharp edges are handy for slicing whilst cooking too.
I’ve lost count of how many BBQ spatulas I’ve gone thought over the years, so wanted something more heavy duty that will hopefully stand the test if time.
This is a really good large size with a really high quality stainless steel spatula part, which should last a really long time. Even though it’s tapered down at the front, it is nice and thick so shouldn’t even get bent out of shape. The handle is nice and thick and being wood, won’t get really hot like others that I’ve. This is perfect for smash burgers and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it. Overall, I really high quality product which I highly recommend if you’re into BBQs. Roll on the nice weather!
I got this mainly for the bbq in the summer so I’ve not had chance to really test it out however, what I can say is that it’s of a good quality and size. It is pretty weighty with sharpish edges so you can cut food whilst grilling or frying. It’s wide enough to pickup burgers and other items without them falling off, which I find happens when just using a fish slice. I can’t wait to use it properly come the summer!
One extra point, the photo shows two spatulas when you only get one, just an observation.
The Mallez Oversized Stainless Steel Grill Spatula arrived the next day.
It is very well made of stainless steel with a beveled edge all round.
Because of its large size it is easier to pick up burgers etc
I will get a lot of use from this when the weather improves.
This is a really good size barbeque turner with a very sharp cutting edge. It is easy to clean and the large area of the spatula means it is the perfect size for using with burgers and are big enough to be able to lift and turn a whole burger at a time which stops breakage. I am looking forward to the better weather for many more uses of this excellent tool.
I brought a cast iron press late last year as wanted to start making my own smashed burgers.
It was certainly sturdy, but it was a nightmare to keep clean and it just kept rusting. So it got delighted to the back of the cupboard.
I’d been looking for a good replacement and found this one.
First thing is that it seems to be well made. The handle is nice and sturdy, and although a little give in the steel, it doesn’t give enough to not be able to flatten a ball of mince in to a flat patty.
Second thing I really like about this, the edges are nice and sharp. This means I’ll be able to do some chopping of certain meats as they cook on the griddle, but it also helps the spatula slide under the food to pick it up easier, and finally makes a for a good scraper when it comes to cleaning up at the end.
Final thing I like about it is its size. It’s a got a really nice width to it, made carrying the final burgers from griddle to plate a less precarious activity than usual. Once the old BBQ comes out in the summer this is going to be a really useful piece of kit, and I’ll definitely be investing in a 2nd one for burger flipping and griddle cooking!
I’ve used it a couple of times. It washes well by hand – with the wooden handle I won’t be trying the dishwasher – but it takes a minute to wash by hand so not a big issue at all. .
Just because the main image shows 2 spatulas, I had assumed it was a pair that I would get, which felt cheap, but it’s just the one and at 11.99 (with a 30% off voucher at time or writing), the price feels good for the quality. I’m sure if there had been 2 for that price they may have been a less quality tool.
I like the quality of this burger spatula, it is solid and has a good weight to it.
We like a burger or two in this house so this has been really handy, when using with our griddle pan it was big enough (6 x 5 inches) to pick up the burger and turn it easily.
It can be used as a burger press as well and it means I will no longer bend our fish slices out of shape by pressing too hard and the burger was seared evenly.
It is versatile, I will try with a fried egg next and I can’t wait to use in the summer on our BBQ.
The description says it is dishwasher safe but I would recommend washing by hand because the handle is made of wood.
I think it is good value if you do make a lot of burgers at home, it is worth getting one of these burger spatulas!
Smash burgers seem to be all the rage at the moment. This spatula claims to be a smash burger spatula but in reality can be used for anything grill related such as a nice steak or even regular burgers.
The product is really nice and sturdy. The stainless steel spatula part is solid and thick with a chamfered edge that tapers to a fine almost sharp point for getting underneath that smashed burger.
The handle feels nice and strong. This BBQ tool should last a long while. Worthy of 4 stars.
Nice large size, made of stainless steel nice finished handle with no sharp edges which looks to have been oiled. Overall feels great quality.
Positives: Good quality and sturdily made.
Negatives: If I was being picky, maybe the hole for hanging could be a tad larger and both sides chamfered….
I was given this item to review. I have given my honest unbiased views although I have not been able to test this item for long term functionality and build quality over several weeks.
To sum up my opinion: would I buy it or not. YES, absolutely.
Well it’s big enough for burgers that’s for sure. It’s pretty well made too without too much flex in the blade. The handle is a little rustic having a coarse finish to the wood. It makes it easy to handle if wearing gloves.
Honestly I haven’t used it for barbecuing yet given that we’re in February and it’s been snowing for the last two days here in the UK. However tested on my grill in the kitchen and it works just fine. Stainless steel blade makes it easy to clean. Fee’s robust, I’d expect it to last quite some time. The unfinished handle should begin to weather and wear in over time too. The actual blade is around 6″x5″ in case you’re wondering.
The only minor downside I can really for the purposes of a full review would be that the handle might not stand up too well in a dishwasher. I don’t have a dishwasher, I think they’re useless things, but you might. I’d suggest washing this by hand.
Large size allows this to be used on all kinds of burger patty sizes; I’ve even used this to transfer pizza from my oven tray to a plate where i usually just try my best to slide it but this made it safer and lessens the chance of it falling onto the floor
Nice stainless steel material makes it strong and sturdy and won’t bend easily. Picking up patties are nice and easy as edges are chamfered but isn’t sharp that patties just slide into the spatula
This spatula is a great size. Ideal for flipping burgers and steaks, it is also good for getting oven chips off the oven tray. The edge is designed as a cutter as well. The wooden handle makes it comfortable to use, and it can be hung up on a hook when not on use. It is dishwasher safe, but otherwise very easy to clean in soapy water.
Oversized Stainless Steel Spatula
This is a beast of a spatula lol and it’s extremely well made, a solid bit of kit. The work end is food grade stainless steel and it is thick, thick enough that you don’t get any flex. The edges are tapered to make it easier to slide under your burgers or whatever you are cooking. The handle is also very solidly made and being of wood is heat resistant. This is a great item and should be included in everybody’s BBQ tool kit!
I was pleasantly surprised at the weight and quality of this stainless steel spatula. It has a lovely wooden handle and very heavy gauge metal blade with a sharp edge; the blade is rigid and not at all bendy. I can see that this will get a lot of use in the summer, both on the barbecue, and in my little wood fired pizza oven. It would be equally at home in a professional catering outlet. This should last a lifetime if it looked after, and at 12.99 I don’t think it’s expensive.
Just used this once so far, and it worked very well for flipping burgers and chicken breasts.
It looks and feels like it is a quality, well-made item — only time and repeated use will tell how long it will last, but my hunch is that I will get a lot of great use out of this.
I was initially sceptical as to whether the metal part was actually stainless steel, as it has a brushed effect on it, and i was worried it was possibly aluminium (which is not ‘food-safe’). However, it is much heavier than alumininium and more importantly — unlike aluminium — it was very much attracted to a couple of magnets I have at home.
Very happy with this item!
PS It’s full price here is 13 — which i think is a tad high — but on it’s Amazon page there is a code for it ‘DIANE5’ which apparently gets you a 20% discount …which in my view brings it down to a fairer price.
I’m really impressed by the quality of this Mallez spatula, it’s even better than I’d anticipated. I ordered it mainly for bread making, to scrape up the dough from the board. It’s perfect for this because it’s large, and the bevelled edge is really sharp. I can also use it to transfer the small loaves into the oven. However, it’s far more versatile than that. Flipping burgers and eggs and pancakes, yes, but also transferring chopped veg from the board to the pan, cutting dough, for pizza, pie and pastry slices, scraping up oven bakes, turning chips, just about anything and everything you can think of. My little old well used spatula is about to be made redundant.
I like that it’s stainless steel, which lasts forever and is easy to clean. The wooden handle is securely fitted to the spatula and is comfortable in your hand. It’s thick metal and does not bend. It smacks of great quality and I’m so pleased to have this in my kitchen. It’s going to be doing a lot of work.
Initially I was very impressed with the quality – its a nice wide piece of metal with good length tang, and a basic but ok wooden handle.
The 3 edges are bevelled nicely to cut well, however the finish here could be better as there were some exceedingly sharp burr along the edge, when there should not be too sharp, so I had to lightly remove the burr with some sand paper so it would not scratch the enamelled BBQ grill or leave any burr fragments on anything.
I also then noticed the front rivet on the handle could be a touch tighter. its ok, but under bending pressure the handle pieces very slightly gap away from the tang. will probably get dirt/grease from food under the handle. The back one is fine. I am sure a clout with a hammer will tighten it up.
So a nice design, will be fab for flipping burgers and wider things (whole fish, pizza etc) on a BBQ, though the handle is very short so for that need to wear an oven glove…or be very quick.
It looks like a quality BBQ tool, but let down a little with the finish and QC.
