This GPS antenna works at least as well as any other active (amplified) GPS antenna. I compared it to a simple cheap magnetic active GPS antenna and honestly performance was about the same, but that’s not super surprising since it likely contains a similar design and electronics so if they are both working they will offer very similar performance: the best-performing GPS antenna might get you one more satellite a little sooner, but that’s about it.
The reason to buy this antenna is the construction.
This antenna has the advantage of being built with high quality physical components in addition to electronics. The enclosure is hard plastic or similar material like nylon and it is well-sealed; the cable is sheathed and has a quality SMA male plug on the end.
Ultimately, for a permanent installation, this is a great choice!
Ordered this GPS receiver to pair with a vehicle mounted mobile 5g modem. This antenna was very easy to install and is not overly massive in size. This GPS antenna does exactly what it is made for and the device I am using knows its location almost all the time.
Overall, a great GPS antenna.
