ORICO USB 3.0 Hub Clamp Adapter, Aluminum 4-Port USB Splitter with Extra Power Supply Port and 4.92 FT USB Data Cable, Ultra-Portable USB Expander for 2021 iMac/Laptop/PC
Wanted this to help with cable management and it didn’t disappoint. Fit well to my desk, all my items work perfectly fine when plugged in, had no issues at all. I’m deffo going to get another!
This is a pretty straightforward USB hub, but the feature to clamp it to the desk makes it really useful. The attachment is very straightforward, and it feels secure when attached.
Nice product.
This is a handy little expander, it allowed me to use the screen’s usb ports easily. It can be powered as well, should you need extra oomph, not necessary for usb sticks etc.
It has a little blue led that can’t be switched off, I can’t really see the need for it but it’s pretty harmless.
This is a great device for powering low power USB devices. I have my keyboard, mouse and webcam plugged into this. When plugging in more power hungry devices such as a high power microphone or a USB stick which is transferring a lot of files you will notice slow down and some of the USB devices will cut out. This is fine though as I can now free up the ports on my actual laptop and laptop dock for those high power items.
I was able to use the clamp to install this hub behind my monitors. It opened just wide enough to clamp to the monitor arm. It looks well enough to clamp somewhere visible. The cable is detachable which is nice to have the option to use your own cable. I’ve had all 4 ports in use with different devices and everything has worked perfectly so far.
I have mine clamped to a leg of a telescope tripod and it works perfectly. Solid metal construction with quality ports. Has not moved an even tiny bit since fastened on and the cables are fixed tight once I have setup each night. Well Recommended.
Have this attached to the side of my table and it’s providing usb ports for mouse, keyboard and a microphone. No issues at all.
Only negative, I wish the connector cable was longer… minor issue though.
Great space saving idea to get them off the desktop and fix under a shelf which also helps to keep the cables tidy-ish.
Can be used powered from pc or separate power supply if your pc can’t provide enough juice.
This works very well for peripherals like printers, mouse and keyboard etc however I would not attempt to hook up several data intensive USB devices such as an external SSDs etc as it will bottleneck the speed of the USB port. The main reason I bought this was to tidy up wire clutter on my desk. It did the job very well, and the bracket that secures it to the desk is sturdy.
The ORICO USB 3.0 Hub Clamp Adapter, Aluminum 4-Port USB Splitter with Extra Power Supply is a great product that delivers on its promises. It provides multiple ports for connectivity, enhancing the functionality of my devices.
However, there is one aspect that could be improved. The micro USB cable provided is quite delicate and the way it protrudes straight out makes it easy to damage. This design could potentially lead to durability issues over time.
It would be beneficial if this were replaced with a more robust USB C cable, which is generally more durable and widely used. Additionally, an angled design could help prevent damage and increase the lifespan of the cable.
Despite this minor issue, the ORICO USB 3.0 Hub Clamp Adapter performs well and does what it says. It’s a valuable addition to any tech setup, but a few design tweaks could make it even better.
Using this to make it easier to connect the likes of webcam and usb keys/cables as the ports on my pc is awkward to reach usually. Fitted tightly on to the edge of my desk at the back well and it is holding firm no matter how much I plug and unplug cables despite others complaining it is loose. I imagine the edge of a monitor is less stable as it’s slightly curved on the back. Charging wise, it’s a bit slow for a phone but if you’re sitting there all day, you probably have time. Overall a good product that matches the cost I think.
This came on time and was nicely packaged. Despite the measurements being given I was hoping it would be a few mm wider so it would fit onto the leg of my glass table out of the way. I have gotten around this by placing it to a cross bar and it fits well. The only small niggle is since I plugged this in my computer eufi throws up an error when the PC is first switched on, that said a second reboot sorts it out. My PC never did this before and if I unplug this hub the issue goes away again. (yes I know strange). It seems to be very well made and I feel is good value for money.
Nonissue with these, they are what they are.. we use these to stream 3 webcams at 1080p 60hz and they have t failed yet.
The cable that comes with it isn’t up to much so that was binned immediately.
We have 4 in the studio..
I like to play simulator games. Currently into Euro Truck Simulator 2, and don’t want to have my vehicle dashboard plugged in all the time. I’m building out a setup that uses a steering wheel, truck gear shifter, steering console (think indicator stalks and so on) and a button box. This hub creates a nice neat what that I can combine all those usb devices onto a single usb plug. The mounting solution will mean that I can attach it easily to my steering wheel stand making setup and teardown as easy as possible.
I’m thinking about getting another for when I go flying ships, so that I can do something similar with my HOTAS (Joystick and seperate throttle)
Update: Just decided to order a second one, so that plugging in my joysticks for flight sims is just as convenient. Should even be able to plug in both at the same time without issues.
Very helpful, but when I nudge the wire a little it disconnects, it would be perfect with a better quality wire, but I’m sure it’ll be easy to replace the wire with a better one.
This is a great idea, I love the concept behind it and how it looks when mounted on a monitor, desk, bracket etc. The data transfer is good, I have been using it to make a controller easier to add and remove on my PC. However despite the fancy clamping arrangement on anything that isn’t square or parallel it will pop off very easily if you try to plug anything into it, which is a little annoying. However, the build quality is good, it’s low profile and I like that it has the ability to add a second USB connection for extra power.
As you can see there is a blue light to indicate power. The only design problem is the size of the clamp fixing screws contact point (at the back). I would have designed it with a larger footprint for better grip. I noticed if tightened too much it caused bleeding from the display. In my case I have around 1cm between the clamp and screen. I tried to take a picture of it, but the camera can’t see it. If watching a movie with black bars, there is a glow. I tried less tightening and the following day it had fallen off, detaching the glued rubberised backing. I have two, one on each monitor as I use MWB on occasions and need to say unplug the keyboard from one to the other. It is also very convenient to see instantly what is plugged into which computer.
