OUR MAGSAFE ECOSYSTEM
An OtterBox MagSafe compatible case not only protects your iPhone from drops and scratches, it also unlocks a whole host of possibilities for your MagSafe-compatible iPhone. Swap, attach and go with the OtterBox MagSafe range – whether you need a MagSafe Charging Stand to power-up your device, a MagSafe Car Mount to keep your iPhone hands-free while on the go, or a MagSafe Wallet to carry your essentials – OtterBox has you covered.
This case has saved my phone numerous times from falls on the floor to dropping down stairs. Very sturdy and seals the phone in very well. Not very easy to get off, but magnetic strip inside means you can charge it without taking it off.
Quite expensive for a phone case but have used this brand for many years ( originally recommended to me by Military personnel) keeps the phone safe even when dropped and when falling out of back pocket into the toilet! (As long as all ports closed)
Even though the latest iPhone models are marketed as waterproof, if they get water damage it’s not covered under warranty – so this is great for that extra level of protection if you’re doing something like watersports.
Waterproof cases aren’t the easiest to take on or off, so the biggest selling point with this case for me is that I can live with it every day, it’s slim, stylish and still has MagSafe.
The case is sleek and slim, yet still provides excellent protection. It’s both waterproof and shockproof with an IP68 rating, so I’m confident it can handle whatever I throw at it.
The case also comes with a built-in screen protector, which is a great addition. This is something I always struggle with, as I’m always worried that the glass isn’t going to fit on the phone properly. But with this case, I’m confident that it’s going to stay on securely.
What’s even more impressive is that the OtterBox is tested to military standards. This means that it’s designed to withstand harsh environments and conditions, so it’s definitely up to the task of protecting my iPhone 14.
Finally, I love the fact that OtterBox has included MagSafe compatibility with this case. This makes it incredibly easy to attach and remove accessories, like wireless chargers.
This OtterBox case lives up to my expectations, it’s well made and durable offering a full 360 protection to my new iPhone. I never understand why people buy expensive phones to only put them in fashion cases and then are surprised when their phone doesn’t survive a drop. With this case you’re almost never going to damage your phone with an accidental drop or bang. I particularly like how it offers front and back protection so I can have peace of mind my phone isn’t going to break easily. The case itself is quite chunky so makes your phone considerably larger to hold however the cost of a new phone totally outweighs the added size.
Great phone case and unbeatable protection.
This is my first Otterbox product and I have to say it’s pure quality! I saw some lower 3 or 4 star reviews and think largely it comes down to its high price. This is NOT a casual purchase, it’s over 60 so should only be bought by those looking for the ultimate protection for their phone. I tend to drop mine a lot and so I am really pleased with this super tough wrap round case!
This is the most luxurious case I have ever seen, it does not just protect your phone but your screen too, it has full protection.
I’m very impressed that it is IP68 waterproof which means in theory you could swim with it to 6 metres for 30 minutes, not that I would want to swim with my phone, but that protection is incredible. I have never seen an IP-certified case before. My previous phone didn’t even have an IP certification because it was too expensive for the phone company to certify.
It is definitely expensive, but if you work a job that could cause you to ever drop your phone or you are just clumsy, or you just care about your 1000 phone, then you are going to get value for money out of this case.
I would definitely recommend this case, not sure if I can go back to cheap gel ones for my next phone
This is a very basic , classic looking case with no bells or whistles. Feels good in hand smooth and easy to hold ( not slipping). It is supposed to be waterproof but i have not tested this and will try not to. But it definitely feels robust and sealed enough to prevent damage from splashes. High quality.
Got this for my new iPhone 14 and am very impressed with the quality and that it protects my phone so well.
This case was very easy to fit, and the buttons are still very accessible and easy to use.
I will definitely be recommending this case to family and friends.
Great quality and a great price.
I have had OtterBox products before with protectors for my iPads.
They have always been very good quality and provided great protection. As does this.
It slips around my iPhone perfectly and stays locked in place. It’s designed to allow all the parts that need to remain uncovered to do so and it pulls it off. Nothing is covered.
Best of all, the protection is top notch, and I can’t see any damage occurring to my phone whilst I have this cover on it.
“Long Story Short”
Fantastic case, absolute solid piece
It will secure and protect your phone, no doubts about that
Otterbox is well known for PRO quality and this case is a sample of it
Fits perfectly and well compliment device
All well designed and manufactured
Big 10 out of 10 for quality
Value for money 10 out of 10
Really good quality case that feels & looks premium. Does the job well and quite easy to put on & take off.
Ideal for those looking for a more rigid phone protection.
Otterbox is otterbox. Always reliable and excellent quality! Love how it says to test in water before putting your device in. This one is perfect, no faults, slim enough yet tough to withstand drops! Very happy.
Otterbox cases are not cheap but they are always top quality.
This case specifically designed for the iPhone 14 is just as good as their other cases.
It provides waterproof protection as well as protection against drops and knocks.
I purchased this for a builder friend who always smashes his screen within months of buying a new handset. His life is in the phone not just personal but also all his work so it makes sense to offer the best possible protection.
The case is made of toughened plastic and it’s a bit fiddly to install especially getting the mute button aligned but once installed everything works as it should.
It is designed for MagSafe iPhone so works well still with wireless charging docks especially in car mounts that are designed to clamp on to the car phone charger via the MagSafe connection. No need to remove the case it works perfectly.
There is a cover over the charging port to assist with the waterproofing and can be fiddly to gain access to which is why wireless charging is preferred.
Overall this is expensive but Otterbox are an established supplier and any issues can be rectified via their customer support team.
Highly recommend.
OK, it would be easy for me to say “it has this feature” or “it has that feature” … if you’re looking at this case, you have a very specific use case, You want to KNOW that this expensive case will protect your far more expensive iPhone 14 in the ultimate disaster scenario: full immersion in water. For a substantial amount of time.
Well, that’s what this review is all about. The video shows what you get in the box, followed by my water testing in full. Specifically, this Otterbox iPhone case submerged in water and held down by a box of screwdrivers for 30 minutes. The cargo? A bone-dry tissue that will show even the slightest moisture sneaking into the case. ANY leakage will IMMEDIATELY show up.
And there wasn’t a drop of water to be found inside the case. Absolutely 100% dry. So if you are looking at using this case to protect your phone from being submerged in water, I reckon you can bank on this case. Very much recommended.
So let me run this past you. You have just brought your shiny new phone and now you want to case to keep it protected and safe you see one for 10 and think that will do. But wait you are seriously going to try and protect a 900 phone with a 10 case???! Doesn’t sound so sensible to me when you run the numbers
Otterbox make some serious cases that go from lightweight protection to bomb proof with a build quality to match. So when you first see the price of this case for the iPhone 14 (58) you could be forgiven for thinking twice but honestly it’s worth it for the quality your getting the attention to detail and materials used to build this and It all adds up to a superb case that is not that expensive in the scheme of i
We’ve had a few Otterbox cases in the family, mainly on mobile phone but also on a couple of iPads that have been used for school. We always found them to be good quality, if a little on the pricey side.
This one for the iPhone 14 is one of their newer designs, not just because it’s for the iPhone 14. It designed to be waterproof and more eco-friendly. It comes in two-parts: the front with the plastic screen protector and the rear with the magnetic ring. The camera cut-outs are also covered in plastic. Between the two pieces is a blue rubberised seal.
The instructions recommend testing the case prior to putting the iPhone in it, in case the case is in some way faulty, and I would suggest testing it again once you have the phone in it. Better that than exposing it to salt, chlorinated or dirty water.
Unlike normal film or glass screen protectors, this one isn’t attached directly to the IPhone’s screen. It the compression of the case that pushes the phone onto the back of it. The screen protector is not completely clear, as it has micro-dots on it, maybe spaced every 5mm. You can hardly see them, if at all.
Both the screen and camera lenses are set back nicely from the front and back edges and there a good level of corner bumper protection for those occasional drops.
For me this case, like a lot of waterproof cases, does have a weak spot and that it the access to the charging port. There is a rubberised bung, with the same blue seal as the main part of the case. My question is why have it at all? You have the magnetic charging built into the case, you can use wireless airpods to listen to music, etc. It doesn’t really need to be there.
Included with the case is a cleaning cloth but there are no alcohol wipes for giving you phone’s screen or the inside of the front part of the screen protector a good clean prior to putting it on. The instructions do say that you should remove any existing screen protector from the phone and give the screen a clean.
The overall quality is very good and the case isn’t going to add much bulk or weight to the iPhone but at almost 60, it’s expensive even by Otterbox’s standards.
I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.
Otterbox have an excellent reputation when it comes to high quality protective cases for your devices and the iPhone 14 case is no different.
Your iPhone 14 is already IP68 certified under European standard 60529, and with the IP68 protections afforded by the Otterbox, you get that extra piece of mind when it comes to dust and water resistance, with the addition of impact protection you get with a case.
The case comes in 2 parts, a front which includes an integrated screen protector, and the back panel which has a ring to support Mag safe charging.
Installing the case is straight forward, you mount the front panel first then attach the back, ensuring all the button passthrough controls are all lined up. Once that’s done the back clips into place, there’s also a bung to seal up the charging port at the base of the phone.
The touch screen isn’t quite as responsive as without the case, but that’s a trade off that I expected, and the case does add some weight and size, again not unexpected.
I’ve dropped the phone one or twice indoors with the case on and everything’s been fine, if I have the experience of a more extreme impact, I’ll update my review and let you know how it behaved. At this point I’m more than happy to recommend the case, it isn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for and the item it’s protecting is far more expensive.
