Always liked Otterbox products, but although this one is promoted as being designed for wireless charging, it doesn’t work with the Anker wireless charger. This is probably due to the shielded cover, although the rear of the case is designed for wireless charging.

This is the third cover I have purchased for my phones, not because it doesn’t last, the complete opposite in fact, they are very well made. However, each phone upgrade meant a different sized phone and hence a new cover needed but I have stuck to this exact make and model phone case. It’s not cheap but the materials and construction are top notch. The card slots in the case are useful; I keep a fresnel lens as a back up if I forget my glasses, a 10 note and my oyster card as it’s easier to tap my phone than get my wallet out and it works through the case. With previous cases I have dropped my phones on numerous occasions usually onto hard floors and have never had an issue. The only slight drawback is fitting it in some phone cradles in a car can be a problem due to the added thickness of the phone. It’s not so bulky overall though and fits in front jeans pocket no problem. Highly recommended.

Fits the phone really well. Does not look like it is a mag safe case as no ring on the back but it works really well. Only downside is the case does not act as a stand in landscape if you wanted to watch a film/video.

I did have very high hopes for this purchase as I was delighted with previous (For Iphone 11 promax)

To be fair I believe/Know that both versions do offer very good protection for the phones within, for me that is the paramount reason for purchase.

Others have commented on the quality of leather or the lack thereof in other reviews so enough said on that topic.
There are three things I do find particularly irksome …

    1) Magnetic clasp is configured differently to previous version mentioned and tends to cover screen, just being a “flipping nuisance!”

    2) credit cards held in the slots provided soon scratch the screen, I have modified this by glueing a strip of thin micro fibre into the highest credit card slot, when the credit cards are in place the the stip of microfibre flaps over the cards so there is nothing hard to chafe on the phone screen.

    3) when coupled to headphones via blu tooth or car play is invoked, and the case is “shut” it is very easy for the volume controls on the phone to be unwittingly pressed by the slightest movement of the case as the volume control buttons are so “proud” / stuck out. I found this scenario very annoying as when gardening or doing an activity with phone in pocket one could easily be “deafened” by a sudden and unwanted increase in volume or lose all volume at your fave bit of music. I did “bite the bullet” and made a great modification by trimming the volume buttons integrated into the case to the same level as the surrounding plastic, volume can easily be controlled by a more deliberate press on the relevant button or by using finger nails. I am no longer subject to volume variations at inopportune times, a great result for me anyway

    …Hope this helps

Bought this because I also wanted the brown version; which I got for the bargain price of 21.99 so super happy. Please have a look at my review of the black version because all the points there are echoed here. Superb and highly recommended.

Think I kind of overwrit my black version review as I can’t find it now! Anyway, bought the brown one because the black version is so good and I just fancied both versions to alternate with.

Both fit perfectly and the materials are premium. One comment I’ve seen a couple of times is that some people have marked the leather and can’t seem to sort it out. Here’s a solution that absolutely works which I have used. Obtain some Saphir Renovateur and basically work it into the leather. It’s a high quality shoe cream with mink oil that removes scuffs which I use to condition my C&Js shoes.
It keeps the leather moisturised and stops it creasing etc. let it dry for a couple of hrs then brush and polish up with a soft quality cloth.

I’ve used it on both the covers to properly condition them a, after all, they’re not cheap themselves full RRP are they!

Perfect case in terms of look and durability,

The main issue we’ve experienced, the interior case groves for the volume buttons, continually change the volume level. Due to same issue the handset often takes screenshots when case is closed.

I owned two otterbox wallet- style cases for my last iPhone XS so didn’t hesitate to get one form my new 15pro. Space to carry an ID card and/ or a credit card means no need to carry a wallet. The cover stops cracked screens if it is dropped on hard ground. I run without “always on” display giving better battery life.

Already dropped phone several times with no damage. Outside can scuff easily but adds to character. It could do with metal inside the front to keep it securely open when using a magnetic holder in the car. I’ve added a small disc inside a card holder to enhance the adhesion to a vent mount, but the clasp doesn’t keep it open and the weight of the phone can make it flip over when driving.

I’ve always had Otterbox Defender cases in the past. With my new iPhone 14 I wanted a leather wallet style case. So, I ordered this one.

It’s nice looking. But the closure tab with the magnet and the spine just don’t seem any better than a 10 case I looked at.

The most disappointing thing is that the ridges on the care, surrounding the lenses, don’t extend out quite far enough to prevent the lenses from coming into direct contact when it is dropped, or if the lenses get laid directly on a surface. I’m thinking the lenses need far better protection.

I expected better quality for 32 and from Otterbox.

The Defender was brilliant in the past, so I may opt to order another.

I purchased this for my new iPhone, for protection it is perfect no faults. My only gripe with this case is it states it works with MagSafe. I’ve to remove the case to charge it on my wireless Apple MagSafe charger major downfall all night. If you only charge with a lightning connector then it is perfect.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe 14 pro max is well protected and it’s a nice fit. The screen is protected by the screen leather cover. So I am pleased. I’m not giving 5 stars as the left buttons are now much more likely to be pressed accidentally as the are covered by the support frame and the wrap around layer of leather. Hard to explain, but I’ve pressed one of of the volume buttons many times so far when closing the case cover so volume has shot up or down unintentionally. You could blame apple for the button positions, but I didn’t have an issue before the phone was placed into the case. That said, I’m not sure what otherbox could have done differently other than having a slight cut out on the leather cover so the buttons poked though and then won’t rest against the cover. Magnet a bit weak when folding the cover open around the back. It does hold the cover, but there is a sweet spot that is a bit too particular.
