Had this for a bit and I can’t give any complaints. The sound it makes when I am trying to find it with “FindMy” IOS network is loud enough and the card is not much thicker than a regular credit card. It really helped me get a much slimmer wallet than my last one which used an actual apple tag.
Im sure there a market for this product, not sure why apple is not making it.
It worked perfectly with Apple, findMy. No external app needed. Gets paired directly
Wireless charging is worked perfectly as well.
I will share more photos later.
Works fine, excellent price, very lightweight and slim but the noise is so high pitched not so easy to hear, you need to be a younger person unless you’re very close. Which rather defeats the object. I passed it on to my son. Who called me “a deaf old b******d”and commented “it sounds ok”.
Having added trackers to our 8 key bunches, cars and Brompton bikes, we got this to stop the faffing about when we misplace our wallet and purse.
The form factor of these is suitable for adding to each.
Easy to set up and they do exactly what we want.
This works well and is super thin. The ability to wirelessly recharge it is brilliant, and very welcome – making it far more useful than other ‘Airtag-like’ products.
The lack of wideband support, mean that this isn’t able to be precisely located – which is a shame, but it does get you to the right area and then can be made to play a sound, so that you can locate the tag easily afterwards.
I’m a little worried about the whole ‘if out in lost mode, you need to delete the item and re-add it as a new item’ warning – in the fact that I may forget to do this in the future and may not have the instruction manual to hand to remind me. This should in mu opinion be printed on the tag itself.
Other than that though, this is a fantastic tracker, that’s far thinner and more approachable than other hardware of a similar nature.
Comes in a simple box with no effort instructions, its a hard nylon feeling thick card sized item that could survive more than drop without an issue.
Its pinpoint accurate to the point i had to edit the photoes as you could not only see where i was but almost the exact place i was in the house!
Its painfully easy to get working, press the only button on it and find it with the apple device and its good to go. Its just as simple to forget it for another device and its price is just too good for throwing in your suitcase in the summer to make sure you can always keep track of your luggage but would also work great in a handbag, in a child pocket or where ever you need to keep track.
This wallet tracker is the same size as a credit card but thicker. It fits into the card slots of my husbands wallet. Easy to set up on find my… on his iPhone and it means we no longer have to search the house, car and garden when he mislays his wallet. The tracker has wireless charging. It has a slot in the card that can be used to attach it to a small strap if preferred. So this card can be used not just to track a wallet but can be slipped inside a suitcase to track luggage.
The only problems with this tracker that it the bleep is very quiet so you have to be really near it to hear and it doesn’t seem to have live tracking so it seems to show the last place it was static rather than being able to see movement in real time. I think for the price it is reasonable if you just want to confirm where you left your wallet but it wouldn’t really be suitable to track a person’s movement.
PROS
-surpringly flat
-this is easy to attach to luggage handles, slip inside a narrow pocket or a wallet
-nice to have a tracker that works like an AirTag, but isn’t trying to _look_ like an AirTag.
-unlike AirTags, this item can be recharged, and it does it wirelessly (no need for a cable). Nice
CONS
-disposable: once that battery has aged, this can only be thrown away.
-doesn’t seem to be as accurate as a real AirTag. Causes me to speculate as to how open the red fruit company has been with their decision to allow 3rd parties to join their “FindMy” network.
NOTES
-this is my first non-airtag “Find My” compatible product. Make sure you don’t try to add it to your Find My network the same way you’d do with an actual airtag, the process is slightly different.
MY STAR RATINGS:
1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
At the time of this review, 11th April ’24, You can buy this thin wallet tracker card for around 15
I’ve got a similar product to this, a plastic coated credit card size tracker which I’ve been using for over six months.
I generally keep it in my wallet, but once when my car broke down and had to go to a garage for repair, I left the tracker in it so I could see where it was.
This type of device is a bit like an apple AirTag in that you will only know where it is in relation to the last time it was in contact with an apple device because it links to any iOS devices.
The plastic one I already have has an “up to three year battery ” Built-in, once that’s expires it’s dead.
Interestingly, this product which is the same size in shape, feels more like a cardboard beer mat, Is around half the price and you can actually recharge the battery with a wireless charger.
On the Find My app, you can see where the product was last pinged and also how much life is left in the battery so you’ll know when to charge it up.
Charging light when green means it’s charging and it turns blue when fully charged.
The one I received seems almost fully charged when it arrived but it will wait for the blue light before using it.
Setting up this device couldn’t have been simpler –
Open the Find My app on your iPhone or iPad
From the bottom of that screen you select the icon for “items ” with four dots
Click on the ” + ” symbol top right
your device will start looking for a new device to pair with
Click the power on symbol on this little card , you get an Audible indication that it’s turned on and a flashing light, mine paired within seconds which was very impressive.
Now you have paired it you can remotely get it to make an audible and visual sound by using the app.
You can rename the device e.g dads car or my wallet..
Overall I think it’s good so far. I didn’t expect this device to provide 24 seven tracking as I have already got an AirTag and similar devices already, I know what the limitations are.
If you are thinking about buying one, I think this is a pretty good choice given the price and a rechargeable battery.
The video should give you an idea of size compared to a credit card.
Update – I activated this on 11th April, fully charged. Apple ‘find my’ notified me today, 3rd July, of a low battery. That’s a perfectly reasonable battery life in my opinion, nearly three months. Not as good as the three years estimated on one my other trackers, place this somewhere you can easily access it. I wasn’t exactly sure where I had out this in the car button ‘ find my’ I had the option to make it beep that helped me find it.
I hope you find the video and this review helpful.
I am NOT an apple guy at all and find that I struggle with their UI almost every time I have to use it. So I was sure that this was going to be a pain to set up, however it took me seconds and worked straight away. The card feels sturdy and strong and does indeed fit easily in a wallet. The packaging was minimalist and appropriate for the product. Excellent value for money!
A good alternative to an AirTag for your wallet. Good idea with the wireless charging meaning you don’t need battery’s for it. The setup is simple to do with the included manual. Open up the app, go to Items and then click the + and select add accessory and it will show there as a tracker card. Uses the Find My network so its secure and privacy focused with thousands of people who will be able to locate it and show it in your app even if your not near it. The only thing it lacks is the UWB feature where it can tell you the distance from the item.
