Whilst you could weigh your luggage on your floor scales and calculate the difference when you’re holding it vs. when you’re not, the benefit this has is its portability and small size and weight, making it indispensable when you’re travelling to calculate weights of luggage at each stage of your journey.
You can fairly easily weigh things that cannot be suspended from the hook simply by bringing a plastic bag with the scale, putting the item in the plastic bag and suspending the plastic bag from the scale.
One small downside is the scale often decides the weight too soon, when I haven’t finished letting the item fully hang from the scale.
easy to use and easy to pack in suitcase, it seems to be accurate within acceptable limits, about 1/2 Kilo light when weighing 23Kg.
For the price it is a great little bit of kit and takes up hardly any room in the suitcase, it also has a very handy retractable 1M retractable tape measure built into the handle, a great idea.
Would recommend for any traveller going on a plane.
So easy to use and could potentially save you a small fortune at the airport. Light enough to pop in your luggage for coming home. Haven’t used against airport scales as yet so can’t confirm accuracy
Great for trips that involve lots of flights mid-holiday. Saves the danger of arriving at check-in and being a couple of kilos over. The weight matched exactly what came up at the bag-drop counter and the red light makes it easy to see when you’re over 20kg. Highly recommend
1. buy toiletries on arrival or at duty-free
2. wear your heavier clothes and jacket on the plane, and put items in your pocket.
3. use compression cube, plack lightweight clothes and plan outfits ahead of time
4. If you allow an extra backpack or handbag, place heavier items there as they won’t be weighed.
