Excellent all-in-one jump starter pack that serves numerous purposes.
Firstly I tested it on a van which had a dead battery and it worked perfectly so as jump starter it works as it should. In addition to being able to jump start it has an air compressor, light and the ability to charge phones and other electrical items. These added extras are excellent and means the device is multi purpose and if you’re caught in an emergency then you’ll be glad you’ve got this in your boot.
The unit itself is well made, durable and simple enough to use. It charges via USB-C and is compact enough to store in the boot without taking valuable space.
Unfortunately the instructions aren’t the clearest and could do with some tweaking so it loses a star for that.
My wife has been having issues with the battery in her car all winter. The grandkids messing with the light and the battery running flat. I got this to fix that issue and provide peace of mind. Sturdy bit of kit, I’ve used it to pump tyres up already with no issue. Charges easily too. Not need to use the jump start yet but I’m so pleased this is in the boot if I need it. For 99 I think this offers peace of mind and good value.
This is an impressive unit, it looks and feels quality. The jump starter comes in a sturdy cardboard box with instructions and the jump start leads and accessories. The accessories include a cigarette lighter lead, Aa USB-C charging cable and three adapters for the air pump. The main unit is standalone but the jump leads and accessories don’t have any kind of storage box or bag. On the top of the unit are two displays, one shows battery remaining as a percentage, and also has a button for switching on the light, and for selecting the light modes, flashing, SOS etc, the other display is for the air compressor for showing PSI etc. On one side of the unit is the air compressor switch, the other side of the unit has a covered socket for the battery connection leads, a coaxial output for the cigarette lighter adapter, and USB-A and USB-C outputs. The coaxial output is 12V so it can power portable car vacuum cleaners and cool boxes. The jump start is easy to use and works well. The air compressor is really useful as it is portable and doesn’t need plugging into the cigarette lighter socket; the air tube fits into the base of the unit, really neat. The unit also functions as a power bank and there’s a handy light, which also has a handy carrying handle. Overall a really useful unit.
The device is incredibly easy to use, and the instructions are clear and concise. The air compressor feature is something i hadnt seen before, allowing me to inflate my tires quickly and easily.
The jump starter itself is powerful, and it was able to start my car’s engine with ease. The device has a high peak current of 5000A, which is more than enough to jump start even the largest vehicles. The built-in safety system is also a great feature, as it prevents overcharging, overheating, and reverse polarity.
I was also impressed with the device’s battery life. The 23800mAh power bank is more than enough to charge my phone multiple times, and the device itself can be charged quickly and easily.
The device’s design is impressive. It is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around in my car. The device also has a built-in LED flashlight, which is a great feature for nighttime use.
Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with the item. It’s a powerful, easy-to-use device that’s perfect for anyone who needs a reliable jump starter.
I ordered this for my son in law for his work vehicle. I’ve been awaiting his response to its worthiness and the results are in
It’s a good bit of kit and not overly complicated or heavy. It certainly looks the part.
The tyre compressor option is a bonus.
It’s clear to read with the LED light, but the other is slightly different and harder to read in dim lighting.
The charging leads aren’t very long, shorter than the average, makes it difficult when charging due to needing to be really up close to the battery.
The pack with accessories don’t come with a storage container or stow bag, but he’s a man with a tool box for every occasion, so everything’s kept neatly all together, protected from any damage in the boot.
He feels the current retail price of just under 130 is a tad on the expensive side because of its shortcomings, but on the whole he thinks it’s a good product.
The most important thing is that as a jump starter, this thing works – tested it out on a car with a dead battery (main reason I ordered this to evaluate through the Vine programme) and it did exactly what it was supposed to – jump start the car.
It’s also a power bank, which has ability to charge all sorts of devices but that’s a bit superfluous IMHO. The way I see it is if you have have a jumpstarter battery in your car, keep it reserved for those emergencies you need a jumpstart (or to help others that do) as opposed to charging your phone.
However the LED light built in is a very useful feature…because let’s face it – it seems your car batteries always die in the dead of night, right?
I can’t speak for the air compressor features – as I have no need for those and don’t really understand it.
It’s built well, and definitely enough for something that may be used once or twice in years if used as intended. Some mentioned about USBC charging taking too long to recharge, but what do you expect – I have power banks that are absolutely massive that can take overnight to charge – but that’s fine – you aren’t doing this every night!
Luckily to me and my partner it was pretty intuitive on how to use this – the instructions are in pretty bad Engrish. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad product, but a lack of attention to detail about a powerful battery that connects to a motor vehicle is not a good look. Ding a star for that.
As a jump starter, the device itself works well, and I have tried it out on two different vehicles (one of which was a van). It definably has the power and capability to delivery what it claims. It does have a lot more features than just a jump-starter. I like that it can serve as a power bank, and it has a USB output should you be caught short. But you can also use it as an air compressor (up to an impressive 150psi), has a LED light built in and so forth.
The build quality is very high and the device looks and feels robust enough for frequent use. I was surprised how compact and lightweight it is, and it would happily fit in most vehicles ready for use. The jump leads, while a little short, are also good quality and easy to attach and detach.
I’m not sure about the USB-C charging as it took a long time to recharge. I suppose there are advantages to this, but my worry would be people leaving it plugged in for long periods or unattended. But once it is charged-up, the battery does seem to be holding a charge nicely.
One thing that did bother me, was the poor instructions and loads of really bad spelling mistakes on the box. I know they have been translated (badly), but the “warnings” on the box are really poor and don’t show a professional product. Things like “Use the device if it’s inilated” and “maycouse as accident. I was even confused with the safety instructions as they contradict themselves at times. For something electrical that you are connecting up, I really think that is really bad and needs addressed.
Overall, it is still a decent product that works well for a decent price – and something that could come in very handy. But please… fix all those spelling mistakes and instructions (and I do presume you mean this is “spark-proof” and not “SPANK-proof.”)
I got this as a small portable backup to jump start two cars in the household – my wife sometimes forgets to turn her lights off and I’m growing tired of jump starting!
Handy that this also comes with an automatic car tyre inflator (plus nozzle adapters), 10W work lamp, and numerous output sockets for12v and USB powering. A nice feature is that it displays the power being output and also the battery % left, so you know exactly the status and when you need to charge.
The stated capacity of the internal power bank is 88Wh or 23,800mAh at 3.7V – I measured the actual useable power and it is significantly less , I can only get 32Wh or 9,100mAh. I tried it twice with similar results. This was disappointing, either my unit was faulty, the specified capacity is incorrect, or it is very inefficient at only delivering around 35% of the stated capacity. My assumption is that the power bank is less than half the size stated – not sure why manufacturers over specify capacity.
Charging the unit takes about 5.5 Hours, charged at 9W (4.9V @ 1.84A)
Using the above numbers I believe this will be good for around 11 jump starts, not the 30 claimed on the advert details – however, this is theoretical as I don’t currently have a flat battery to test. However, this is plenty to get you going, so not a problem.
Unfortunately I have more dislikes than likes here:
– One display is for Power and the other display is for air pressure, they are both small and one is a backlit LCD the other LED – weird mix of technologies
– The tyre inflator is very fiddly to remove from the recess at the back, poor design
– Incorrectly stated the power bank capacity
– Larger than other Lipo starters, however, it does have a tyre inflator built in
– No storage pouch, likely to loose bits if you don’t keep it in its box
Likes:
– Many functions
– Quite small and light when considering functions and when compared to traditional Lead Acid Jump starters – 21(L)x18(w)x13(h) cm (8cm height excluding the handle) and weighs 1.4kg
When Jump starting, the unit will need to be placed next to the battery, as the +ve lead is 28cm long and negative is 20cm.
I think there are better products out there, particularly at the current price of 129.99, if I also took price in to account this would be a 3 star.
First and foremost the Povasee Jump Starter Power Pack is a powerful jump starter. It started my diesel Mercedes with ease and used a fraction of the charge. It charges via USBC and takes a while to do so, but once charged it claims to be able to hold said charge for months at a time, so it is great for chucking into the car boot in case of emergencies. The addition of a compressor is a stroke of genius in my book, and my existing compressor needs plugging into the ciggy lighter with the engine running which is damn inconvenient, especially when I’m inflating tyres on a trailer. It also doubles as a powerband with USB connection so you can also charge your phone in a pinch. The moulded carry handle is also a nice touch. The downsides for me are that the provided jump cables are tiny – shorter than the arms on a T-Rex – and the price is quite high when compared to competitor jump packs from the likes of Topdon for example. If you are after a device that can serve more than one function then this may well be the device you have been looking for. Overall I have no real complaints and am generally pleased with the quality, its’ weight, portability, and price. 4 stars.
