I used this because a little mouse kept getting into the house when I left the back door open, and then hid in the larder. I put peanut butter in the trap and with a few hours I heard the trapdoor shut. It’s good that the trap is transparent as I enjoyed seeing the mouse close up inside, not terribly upset about it yet. And my God it was cute! How anyone could want to kill something that cute is beyond me. I took it a long way into some nearby woods and field and let it out there. As others have said, it’s long enough to avoid trapping the tail. I think it would hold a smaller rat but not a really big one. It’s a shame you can’t open it up to clean it but the bit where you put the food is easily reachable and I managed to get that clean using a brush under a running tap.

My eldest daughter had noticed a scratching sound coming from the loft, this wasn’t a complete shock as we’d had squirrels up there in the past. Assuming it was the bushy tailed rodent once again, I set the squirrel trap up with some chocolate spread on bread and waited. Every day, the bait was gone and either the trap wasn’t sprung, or was sprung and was empty.

I was left scratching my head and almost called in professionals, when I purchased a wifi camera with night vision, and straight away I saw the problem. Mice.

I picked up these traps which as a good size, very light weight but perhaps don’t feel the best quality. However, once setup with a little bit of bait at the end, I caught 2 mice in a space of two days. I took the mice for a pleasant drove to a secluded spot around 2 miles from the house and released them.

Since then, no mice alerting the camera, empty traps and my daughter hasn’t heard them again since.

We’ll keep the traps aside for the next time, but for the money for two traps, they’re good value and cheaper than bringing in a professional pest controller.

If the mice in the shed weren’t eating my strimmer I’d have left them alone. Next option was to catch and release with a humane trap. Set it down and checked within 24hrs. Large mouse was caught inside but its tail and leg were caught and it had died. Second night, similar thing, caught another large mouse but again it was dead. Checks online state mice tend to die when trapped, even in humane traps which left me feeling worse about these than the quick snap close one’s. Too small for rats.

We have a horrible smell of mice urine coming from under the floorboars, so a humane trap seemed to be a good solution.
After a week or two of baiting the traps with cashew nuts, we got a result.
The nuts from both traps were gone, but not triggered (and I did test the mechanism beforehand).
So, I set them again even though my wife had no faith that they would work as the mice were too small to set off the trap.
I used grapes which are heavier and more awkward to pick-up. Within 2 days I had a mouse!
The trap did go off but the lip of the sprung ramp killed the mouse.
On the plus side, it’s much easier to move a dead mouse within a plastic box, but if you have small house mice, then this might not be a non-lethal solution.
Edit: 2 days later, I have a live one. Release was easy and the trap is also simple to clean. 1 more star on the review.

Bought this for garage that stores hedgehog food and bird food. This has obviously created an issue with mice as some bags have been nibbled at. Need to put food in plastic containers, but in meantime bought these humane traps. They are brilliant, better than the old black ones that you couldn’t see through. I’ve caught and released at least 6 mice in two weeks. The recent mice have managed to get to the nuts without tripping the trap. They’ve ate the bait and done one. Either Ninja mice or too light to trip the trap. I’ve placed a few coins on the edge of the trap tonight and bingo another mouse caught . Released further away from house tonight. The battle goes on ! But highly recommended traps

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFound a couple of mouse droppings in cupboard under kitchen sink so ordered these. They arrived the next day and I set them up. It was so easy! Within a couple of hours we’d caught the little fella and were able to release him to a grassy area without any problems. Hopefully there’s no more.

Ps there were more! Caught 5.

Bought this mouse trap as my cat brought a mouse into the house. It was alive and unharmed but we couldn’t catch it as it was too fast, then it hid in a hole in the wall. I bought this mouse trap because I wanted to trap it without hurting it and set it free. Very easy to use, you get 2 in the box so excellent value for money! We put peanut butter in the trap and placed it near to wear we think the mouse was hiding. I checked the next day but there was no sign of the mouse. I did the same the next day but still no mouse inside. I checked again the next morning and the mouse was inside! Completely unharmed. I picked up the trap, took it outside and set it free would definitely recommend

It took almost a week to catch this clever little destructive mouse in our garage with two traps out but we’ve done it! And so glad we didn’t need to harm it! We had one with cheese spread in and one with peanut butter. Mousey went for cheese spread! Such a good purchase, we will keep the traps in the garage permanently incase any others fancy making it a home and destroying our things!

This is a box of two plastic see through traps described as target species Rat and Mouse.
Each one has a lift up door at one end that gives access to the bait ing tray, and a hinged sprung door on the other that snaps shut when a mouse or rat steps onto the red activator step.
    The trap measures 19x6x8cm
I’ve had a rat problem in our garden compost bin for a couple of weeks.
There are holes within the bin and under the fence behind it where there is evidence of a rat run.
I placed the trap, baited with a piece of chicken, by the bin and left it overnight.
The next day the trap had been sprung and there was a rat half in and half out of the trap As I tried to lift the trap the rat dropped out and escaped.
I think these traps are perfectly adequate to trap mice but probably not man enough to trap a rat.
