It’s early days and I will update my review once I have used it more, initial frustration is the beep noise, this is going in a small attic right next to the headboard of our bed, the last thing I want is an intermittent beeping noise once the trap has been activated in the middle of the night, which is the usual time the rat appears. I went to Roshield Control website and I see they no longer sell this item which is a bit concerning, perhaps the product is end of life?

Like others have said, it takes a good 4 – 5 hours to fully charge, even with a 20w apple charger connected!

Do this at your own risk, I took the battery out to make it safe, 6 screws later I was inside the device and I have superglued up the speaker, so its a very muted/quiet beep now, much better. It is the little round black plastic thing on the circuit board with a small hole in it. I am a qualified electronics engineer so happy to do this and also happy to void my warranty so we get a good nights sleep.

I will update once I have caught the rat, its been seen on my loft camera and its had a good sniff of the outside of the trap, only a matter of time before it goes in I hope!

This rat trap is pretty solid, and larger than I thought it would be. It would definitely handle a rat, and not just something mouse-sized.

Once charged up, it’s simply a case of sliding the lid off, baiting the box, lid back on and power up. Place the trap along a wall as mice and rats like to run along them rather than open ground, and wait for the trap to indicate that it has caught something with a beep sound being emitted.

So far I haven’t caught anything, but I think the visitors I was having may be seasonal and gone on their summer holidays or taken up residence outside for the summer. I’m giving the trap a break for a while and will start again later on in the year.

I’m pretty confident that this trap will work, just currently out of test material.

The unit is easy to setup and charge. Important to note it’s not for use outdoors. Initial charge took about 4 hours and was then put into action in the hay barn. The next morning the trap was indicating that it had been triggered although there was nothing inside. However, a few feet away was a dead rat which we assume must have somehow crawled out and then died. Either way it worked. The only issue we’ve found is that once armed the battery only seems to last a few days before needing to be recharged which was a bit of a pain so you may need to check it regularly to ensure it remains fully charged (hence 4 starts). Otherwise it seems to be well made and effective.

This product is easy to operate. Haven’t caught anything with it yet, but I am confident this will get the job done. It’s bigger than I thought it would be, but means it should catch multiple mice or a big rat. I Intend to use it in side gate leading into garden where the offending rodents like to roam! All in all a solid looking trap.

At the time of this review you can buy this rat/mouse trap for around 28

When this first arrived I was concerned that it would need to be plugged into the mains power all the time but thankfully it does have an inbuilt rechargeable battery that they say , once fully charged , can deliver at least 30 shocks , that’s not ” up to ” which would be kind of vague but saying ” at least ” is reassuring, the battery should be decent.
I plugged this in and it only took a couple of hours to for the light to go out, that indicates fully charged. Again reassuring, that battery has held capacity for a while.
    There are two connections provided,
First a usb charging lead , usbA to a model specific round connector ( so not a usb)
    Second a remote indicator light
The unit once switched on, will will beep and intermittently flash a small led at the opposite end to the entrance
if activated it will beep more and flash the light more, the reason for the second cable is that you might have to put it somewhere you cannot easily see the unit ,so you can position the light cable to help, which is a good idea..having connected it up that light cable doesn’t show to flashing led every few seconds, perhaps it’s just an activation light.

I have baited this with some peanut butter and put it in my garage as I found a half chewed conker in there yesterday

If you haven’t read it in the instructions this unit is for indoor use only

I have an enclosed mouse trap , the kind in a box that a cat / dog cannot get its nose into. It has been robbed a few times without going off . At this time I am hopeful this one will catch the little instruder.

This seems well made and easy to use, I have given it five stars for now but will revisit this review .

If you are thinking about buying one I hope this review is helpful and you can better understand what this does

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersFirst night of use & we have a winner.
Charged the unit for about 5 hours as per instructions (until charging light goes out). Baited the unit with a small piece of cheddar, placed the unit about an access hatch in kitchen and went to bed. In the morning there was a [reassuring] intermittent beeping sound coming from the hatch. Sure enough, the unit had its first occupant – a mouse.
Judging by the nocturnal sounds of movement above the kitchen/diner area, there is still bigger game at loose, but hopefully it’s days are now numbered
