I like that it is a Samsung product so made for a perfect fit. I bought the clear version and it is almost invisible, but gives peace of mind and protection.
As far as Samsung phone cases go, this is up there as being one of the best ones. I really like this case because of it sturdiness as well as rigidity and robustness.
Whilst normally showing away from any flip cases, this has been a welcome change in as far as it’s protection of both the screen and the rear side of the phone.
I am still going to use other options but in terms of this doing what it should-it’s exactly what is and was needed at the time
OK, so straight off the bat, there are better ways to install the screen protector as showcased by other 3rd parties (AMFilm for example) and I had to discard the first protector almost straight away due to getting dust under it during fitting.
However, once correctly fitted, and a bit of time and effort taken to get rid of the remaining air bubbles, (and the lines left by the centre tear off piece) this is the best sized screen protector I have tried for use with the Samsung Leather case as others are too short.
It is definitely not as easy to fit and takes a lot more hard work to get it bubble-free so Samsung you need to take a look at your competitors here.
After having a huge number of different cases over the years; when I get a good one I like to leave a positive review. This is my second case for my S23 Ultra. The first one has been returned to amazon because it was starting to damage the screen.
This case is simple but with some functionality built into the phone in the way of a display window. The window can be configured to display various clocks in different colours. The phone is activated and put back into locked mode when the case is opened and closed which is a huge benefit over my old case. Generally samsung cases integrate with the phone itself which puts some of the other third party cases to shame.
All in all really pleased with this simple case that does it’s job well. The only downside is not having a stand but I can live with that.
The Smart View window is chic and informative, it provides you an access to your notifications without having to open your phone, and the Always On Display ensures you can see the time at all times. Moreover, you can answer, decline or end calls directly from the window. However, you are limited in terms of functionalities from the window, and many apps/notifications will require you to open the phone cover and use the main cover.
As for the camera lenses, the case is raised in that area which provides ample protection from scratching the lenses if for example the device is on a desk or table etc, so I have not found a need to apply camera lens protectors. In addition, there is a raised lip over the main screen, so it will provide ample coverage against scrapes and scratches, though I would recommend applying a plastic screen protector, as it will provide some sort of protection while not adding to the bulk of the already bulky phone and case, as a tempered glass protector would.
If you are an individual who primarily stores their phone in their pocket, then I would suggest you take a look at alternatives as this is not a lightweight case and can cause difficulties especially if you are a person who regularly keeps their phone in their pocket. However, if you primarily keep your phone in your bag or backpack, then you shouldn’t need to worry about the bulk of this case.
This case is not perfect but I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for convenience and stylishness in a compact offering.
This is case is everything you want for a leather case. It fits perfectly, barely adds any bulk, feels textured like leather and has premium metal buttons. The reason for 4 stars is because I noticed the microfiber lining on the inside isn’t as soft as the leather case last year as well as the smell of the leather which has seemed to slowly go. But other than that I cant complain.
The Rugged Gadget Case is very substantial, it is thick and feels tough; it certainly makes the phone feel bigger. Overall, the fit of the phone in the case is good, but the edge of the screen is clearly visible both top and bottom (see photos), which ruins the aesthetic a little. The case looks rubbery, but it isn’t, it is very hard (and solid) plastic which can feel a little slippery in the hand.
The attachments fit on the back very securely on a bayonet type mount; both the card holder and grip mount are easy to fit and remove, but remain very secure on the case in use. The grip can be used as a stand, in both portrait and landscape, and works very well. The grip also offers a nice feel of security when you hook your fingers through it. The card holder will just about accept 2 cards and holds cards securely.
The buttons work very well; they have a nice bit of a ‘click’ in use and don’t need too much pressure (unlike the Smart View Case). I’ve used ‘Google Wallet’ with the phone in the case and it worked fine. so no probs with NFC. I don’t use wireless charging so can’t comment on that.
So far I’m happy with the case; its not my ideal case (I’m really a wallet style case person), but it’s comfortable to use, is functional and will hopefully provide good protection for the phone. I look forward to other attachments becoming available, especially something to fit it to my tripod, we’ll have to see what Samsung produce.
When I bought mine there was a 29% discount in the Samsung store on Amazon, which brought the price down to a reasonable level, I don’t think I’d have bothered at the full 54 that is the normal price.
