I love this activity! And more importantly so do my grandkids. They ask to do it. We often use it when we watch them and have a meal together. So insightful. As a former school psychologist I highly recommend this to start meaningful conversations for all ages.
I like the questions, the wildcards, and the swipe cards, but most of all I like the fact that it’s good for different ages to play together. I plan to use it for a game day in the prison where I teach. I think the women will enjoy it.
Had my dad over for a game night and I brought this game out. While my son got bored after the first round and didn’t want to answer most of the questions, that tells me this game is doing it’s job and I’m hoping that over time he will become more comfortable sharing his thoughts. Definitely a good game for starting to build a deeper connection with everyone playing the game.
Even my Dad enjoyed it and understood the rules to the game quickly, which doesn’t always happen. So amazing game in all areas, does exactly what it states it is for.
I am so glad I ordered this game. Kids of different ages and levels love it! It is fun to play, easy to learn and I use it to teach ESL English. Good value for money. A nice variety of questions so you never get bored.
This is my 7 yr old child’s favorite game. It’s a game of luck not skill so he has an equal chance of winning and I think we all love how connected we feel with each other after we play. He gave it as a gift to a birthday party too.
I bought this to play with our grandkids. It is easy to do although not a very active game. Our 9 year old grandson wasn’t thrilled with it although we convinced him to continue playing with us. His 12 year old sister liked it. I think kid’s temperaments and personalities would determine how well they like it. But I think these kinds of games are important in facilitating information and it’s a game that a fairly young child (4-5) can play, depending on their maturity. It is designed well so that there is actually a goal in winning and not just an information sharing game.
I bought this to try and engage my mom, who has dementia, so she didn’t just sit and watch TV. (Note – you have to play it with them).
In my case, she wouldn’t do it, but what it is helpful is for the family taking care of, or visiting. Most people don’t visit because it’s awkward, no one knows what to say, etc. If you have a few people visiting your loved one, it sparks interesting conversation, is fun, and you learn things about each other. Even if your loved one can’t participate, they usually like to hear and see others having a good time around them.
This hit all of those points, in our case. It was fun to learn things about friends and family I otherwise wouldn’t!
That’s right! When I went through nursing school, we had to pass a “critical thinking test” in each and every class to be sure that we knew how to think from the past to future possibilities. Children are NOT learning critical thinking or coping skills in school these days!! So sad…until I found games like this “Skillmatics Card Game.” Perfect for playing, teaching and guiding critical thinking and coping LIFE SKILLS. Definitely recommend! Check out other Skillmatic games also if you are concerned about your child’s ability to deal with life / professional situations.
Suitable for all ages. Great to get the family talking and sharing experiences.
I bought one for my niece and her three children. She ordered six for gifts for friends who have children!!
I bought this game for our whole family to play as we have some children with social and communication difficulties. We all really enjoy it. It is simple to play and makes people think and connect whilst still having something of a competitive element. Some of the questions can be a struggle to answer…even for adults…but it really opens up the floor. My daughter says she loves playing it because it makes her talk about interesting things!
Bought for my niece and her family through Amazon UK. With us here in Canada and family across the pond, Amazon UK makes it easy to send gifts. This game is perfect for her young family.
I wanted to use this for a road trip, but the box is too big to fit into the side pocket of the car, and does not fit into my travel case, nor does it fit inside my games cupboard.
Inside the massive box are just three compact sets of cards. Why waste so much plastic-coated, non-recyclable, ink-soaked paper on a massive box? Massive boxes are an outdated gimmick to trick consumers into thinking they’re getting more for their money – only to be disappointed by the contents. Biggest is not always best!
I don’t know if it’s fun to play because we had to leave it at home.
Pros- quick to learn. And not a lot of set up.
Cons- the box is a lot for a single deck game.
It is in clear if you start with zero card.
The actions are fun, but they don’t really add to the conversation in any way and it is is also in clear if a trade is from the answered questions or the hand.
We will probably.modify the rules to make the game a litle more dynamic.
I bought this to play with my son and his friends, and they loved it! It really sparks conversations, even the grown ups were surprised how deep it can go. There are all kinds of questions from serious to silly, fun wild card challenges, and steal cards… this is a really great buy, and would make a terrific gift for families with kids ages 5 up to about 15 or so. Would surely recommend this one!
The game is absolutely fantastic and godsend for children right now… stuck in online school, it’s been hard for all of us to deal with social and physical isolation, with this is a game the young ones are finding new ways to connect at a deep and real level with friends and even within the family. This is a game that makes me bring out the innocent kid in me! Super recommend, & need more of such human connection moments and opportunities in our lives!
