Smart Tag Oval For Apple iOS: Item Tracker, Key Finder, Tracker with Worldwide Tracking – Easily Locate Your Wallet and Important Items Using the iPhone Apple Find My App
This will be really handy on holidays. It’s a little larger than the other tags I have, but thinner, so fits nicely in flattered areas like wallets or small pockets on suitcases. It connects ok to find my app on Apple but found it took longer to track the same item that I had my branded tag on when testing. It did track everytime I tested though. As it is cheaper though I think this does even the score as I’m less worried about this one getting damaged if my kid jumps off the softplay too hard or my suitcase gets yeeted by airport staff.
This seems to be a great alternative to the AirTag, it picks it up under other devices in the FindMy app. What I quite like is it shows the battery life, which the AirTags don’t. It comes with a lanyard, spare battery, tool top open the battery compartment and a fun little Christmas themed key ring. From a price point of vue it’s more economical and I also like that the holder is built in, so you’re ready to go to just add it to your key ring rather than having to buy an additional holder.
It makes all the same noises as the AirTag too.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised with this and wouldn’t hesitate to buy more.
I got this small smart tag to track my wife’s keys if they ever goes missing, she doesn’t seem to leave them hung up like everyone else in the family.
The device pairs easily with the Find Me app, and gives a notification when you’re moving away from the item that is being tracked.
There is a spare battery in the box, which I though was a helpful as not everyone keeps spares of this size.
The tag is very lightweight, and looks good in the oval shape we got, they attach easily to a keyring as it has a ready made hole, unlike the air tag we have that needed an extra case to be able to use.
There doesn’t seem to be anything we don’t like about this product, it does exactly what it is supposed to, and we are happy with it.
At 13.99 at the time of writing this review, I think it is a good buy and would recommend it.
I have been eyeing up the original tags but have never quite been able to bring myself to spend the money, so thought it was worth trying this version, particularly given the reviews. I currently have them attached to my keys so I always know where they are – haven’t been on holiday yet but am definitely going to try putting them in my case when we go as if they work as well I will be buying more for sure.
This arrived in a branded plastic box, with very clear instructions, a spare battery and battery removal clip. They even supply a little keyring which is nice.
The device is all plastic on the outside (white in my case) with a built in clip which feels strong. The whole thing is nicely made and looks like water would struggle to get inside. I will say this is noticeably bigger than an AirTag.
I followed the instructions and it worked perfectly first time, it just added to the standard ‘Find My’ app on my iPhone 14.
As always with these things, they are close to accurate but not perfect. It showed the device was approximately 25 metres from where I was, again not perfect, but pretty good.
I have to compare this to a genuine AirTag, and to be honest this is cheaper but not that much cheaper. If I needed to use this type of product, unless I was focused purely on price, I would buy a genuine AirTag. It just feels the price could be a little cheaper when you consider it’s all plastic, bigger and an unknown brand.
I would recommend this.
This is an alternative product to an Apple AirTag. Instead of being a silver disc it’s a slim plastic case, almost rectangular but with semicircular ends. It works perfectly and is set up exactly the same way as an AirTag, using your iPhone. .
Unlike an AirTag it comes with a number of extras. In the box is a manual, a lanyard and a shim that looks like a guitar player’s plectrum, which you use to prise open the case to replace the battery. There’s also a spare battery! Also provided (for reasons that escape me) is a children’s novelty key ring. I suppose you can use just the ring attach to this device rather than the lanyard.
I like the fact that they provide a lanyard because it means the smart tag can be anchored to almost anything. I have hidden it in my car in a recess, with the lanyard stopping it from slipping down into the depths of the car.
When I went a distance from my car, I received a notification that the tag is no longer with me, which is what an AirTag does.
This is a good product, and the manufacturer has been thoughtful in putting the pack together. I particularly applaud the provision of a spare battery (although the cynic in me wonders if that’s because this device drains its battery faster than an AirTag does. Time will tell.
In the meantime I recommend this.
This works really well on ltems such as keys as it has 40 m range best used for items that you keep reasonably close ,bag ,wallet ,car keys or similar. Could be used to track item if stolen if you notice it quickly enough, due to range limitations with bluetooth and relying on proximity of Apple products “find my” feature.
Personally I think it’s great for keys as you often put them down and then struggle trundle them quickly,
a good item to have.
Set up is straight forward and iPhone will allow you to track item, it would be nice if this could work with Android as well as Apple iOS.

I have never owned a smart tag so can’t compare this to the Apple branded one but I have been impressed with it so far as it was very simple to set up straight from the box. I have an iPhone X running iOS 16.7.4. The pairing instructions including photos at the bottom of the listing are extremely helpful and it took me only a few minutes to get the tag paired and showing up on my phone. I love that I was able to add an icon to identify the tag and I can see this is particularly useful if you have multiple tags. An extra battery, and a key ring is included in the box which is a nice touch.
I have attached these to keys for a building I visit regularly but which isn’t my home. I am usually good with other keys but I either leave this set at home by mistake, or misplace them by putting them into the pocket of one of my many jackets or into one of several handbags with multiple pockets so this is going to be really handy a) to inform me quickly that I’ve left without them, or b) to find them quickly when they are somewhere nearby in the house.
I can think of several other uses for this tag and will move it from the keys to luggage, to my bike, to my elderly parent (with their knowledge!) as the need arises. The emoji icon and label assigned to the tag can be easily change in the findmy app.
I’m rating this 5 stars at the moment and will update my review after a longer testing period if I come across any issues.
