An all-in-one activity board that comes with 20 different activities. We have used this with my kids for in flight entertainment, in the car for long trips, and on buses, in doctors waiting rooms, shopping trollies, you name it. It keeps my little one entertained for 30 minutes to an hour doing all the combinations in the closable book. The sensory board is made from soft felt material and features soft edges, ensuring that your child is protected from scratches and other forms of harm.

I gave this to my partner to try out at the school she works at, mostly with SEN children, here’s her review:

    Pros:
    – Easy to put together
    – Very engaging for the younger SEN children (KS1 age)
    – Lightweight and easy to carry around
    – Easy to store away
    – Bright and colourful to help stimulate activity

    Cons:
    – Double side velcro sticky tape too weak, had to reapply several times, needs to be stronger
    – Not too many sensory variations

This is a portable and light weight busy board that will keep little hands occupied and their brains thinking. Colourful, soft and safe for delicate hands to explore and fiddle. Would make a great toy for younger ones to develop their fine motor skills and older toddlers to learn how about date/time and alphabet, identifying different dinosaurs, and matching the different animals. The book is held with a stretchy loop fastener.
Inside there is a good array of buckles, buttons, zips, laces, clips etc. There are some good components in what the book is trying to teach, from the days, months, time, seasons and alphabet. There are some included foam pieces with the alphabet letters to allow you to match them against the book inside.

A fun and clever soft feel to teach your young ones the basics.

Apart from a couple of minor issues, the product is attractive and well-made. I had to widen the button holes slightly because tiny hands were just not strong enough to manage these. The poppers on the elephant were very stiff to remove but eased a little after the first few tries.

It is a bit of a faff to pull all the die-cut letters out of the sheets and attach the hook and loop fasteners.

I assume the product description has recently changed because I did not receive any additional sheets of arithmetic symbols etc (as described at time of order). I only received two sheets of alphabet letters.

There is certainly plenty to occupy small children and my testers had a lot of fun trying all the features but I do wonder at the wisdom of teaching them how to escape from a safety harness.

As a teacher , I am always looking for products that can promote independent learning or hands on activities. This has been a great addition to some of my resources to support SEN children in my class. Additionally as a primary school teacher, the clock and tying activities have benefited everyone!

Just dropped a star due to spelling errors on product page

This has a great range of activities to entertain a young child. Its like having a fabric activity book but with handles to use like a bag so it’s fantastic to use when travelling. It has lots of bright colours and components to draw the child in. With the types of activities it really helps to develop a child’s mind as well so they can really learn while they play.

I discovered this book and thought what a great way to introduce sensory activities to my little one. The busy board has a wide range of games and activities that can be carried out by your child.

The product arrived and initially looks great from the different games, on the front and back of the book from identifying different dinosaurs to playing a game tom match the different animals. The book is held should with a stretchy loop fastener. However looking into the games i believe there is some typos and missed names on one dinosaur, furthermore the game to match the animals. What do we match the animals too? There’s no Animal pieces included or no matching animals?

Inside there a good array of buckles, buttons, zips, laces, clips etc. All very interesting concepts for your little one to get the hang off, but is this a safety concern if your child can open their own buckle? There are some good components in what the book is trying to teach, from the days, months, time, seasons and alphabet. There are some included foam pieces with the alphabet letters to allow you to match them against the book inside.

What’s stopped me giving this a high score, is the quality control of the final product in terms of spell checking, consistency and quality of components used could be better. However maybe I’m being overly critical but i guess at this price point it represents good value for a busy board.

This busy board is such a great but simple idea — each of the ‘pages’ or sections within it has different fastenings, puzzles, Velcro jigsaws etc on which are fab for keeping little ones entertained. It has a fun, eye catching design with lovely bright colours which is sure to catch the attention of any toddler. A great way to develop problem solving skills and dexterity, plus recognition of things like shapes, colours, and so on. I also really like the fact that it all folds up into one handy carry case with handles so it’s good for taking on journeys, in the car etc to stave off the boredom.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fab busy board

This set has loads of bits and pieces for the little ones to engage with. A little bit of adult set up is required to get all the pieces in place, but then you’re off, and hopefully this will keep an active mind busy for some while. CE marked and appears to be safe enough, good stuff.

This is a really nice little set. It closes like case with a carry handle and opens up to reveal lots of different play and learn items.
There are buttons, laces, zip etc as well as alphabet.
There is a spelling mistake on the front – the stegosaurus is misspelled but I doubt a youngster would notice!
I have dropped one star as you have to cut out the alphabet letters, and then stick on the velcro dots to both the dots and the pack. And for some reason there are two sets of letters but I guess that’s handy in case you lose some.
All in all a nice play gift.

Currently 11.99. It’s not bad value for money, but I wouldn’t want to pay more than this. It has actives for little ones to do and learn and great for practising fine motor skills. However, it’s not as full with as many pages of activities as other busy books I’ve seen for only a few s more. It’s lightweight and great for travelling.
