I weirdly quite liked the smell – though it’s very strong – this mousse applies very easily and appeared to kill everything in no time. The little bottle seems to contain a ton of liquid, so I’m glad to have it in the cupboard for next time.
It’s never a pleasant job, but it went in and washed out very easily, I can’t imagine how it would’ve been simpler. I applied, rinsed, washed, rinsed, tied hair up and she went to sleep with no scratching or fuss.
Didn’t see a live louse after that night, and I don’t think any hatched, so I guess the eggs were killed too. Only problem (regardless of treatment) is the dead eggs stay in the hair until you pull them all out, which felt like it tools weeks to do, but was only an appearance thing.
Would recommend, though I’ll hopefully not need to buy again. Was about half the price that Boots had listed in store.
My child had the awful nits at the start of the holidays and bam this stuff gets rid of them immediately. Fingers crossed the other parents treat their children too! Excellent product. Marginally cheaper than supermarket prices thank you x
My daughter has intensely thick and curly hair and no amount of wet combing or normal nit treatment did anything to get rid of the nits. I spent hours every couple of days for months trying in vain to rid her of them. Nothing worked! I finally tried this after my friend recommended it and after one treatment she was completely clear! I’ve just given her a comb through 4 days post-treatment to check and didn’t find a single nit. I could cry!
I should also add that it leaves no oily residue like headrin and the other treatments I’ve tried. It washed out in one wash and actually left her hair feeling soft and conditioned.
Absolutely recommend.
It smells disgusting, but I’m quite scent sensitive so could just be me. Very easy to use, much better than the liquids that just run everywhere. Although this morning my hands are exceptionally dry and the skin is peeling, maybe wear gloves (none were provided and didn’t see it specified on the leaflet, but I could have missed it). It’s expensive, just hoping this one works!
Never found anything that works better than this. No fuss smoothe it through dry hair wash out and in half hr all lice and eggs are dead. So worth the money.
This stuff is fantastic. So easy to apply and the smell didn’t bother us. Was a bit like a tea tree smell. I treated both my children and myself with this product and have checked daily afterwards for signs of live lice and eggs. Nothing, no scratching, no itching. It’s so easy. I’d definitely recommend it.
I needed a treatment to use for my daughter’s thick, curly, afro hair. We had already tried Hedrin lotion which had no effect at all as you have to get to the scalp. This was near impossible as her hair is so thick. It didn’t kill the lice. This mousse however was much easier to use and has rid her hair of lice. Would recommend.
I have used this twice in the last 3 weeks, not because it didn’t work the first time just because nits have been going around the class.
My daughter has really long hair – one can did my sons short hair and her long hair. Very easy to comb through after applying even with a Nitty Gritty comb which I prefer to use rather than the comb that’s included as really catches everything. Washes out really well too, doesn’t leave hair greasy like some other brands.
Cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else too 🙂
I am a 64 year old woman & have no contact with kids but caught head lice from my local hair salon!! So not happy .I tried another product as directed but after 3 goes they were still there. By this time not concerned about being green /saving the planet or my hair at this point – just wanted to nuke the little *******’s .Used Vamousse today and I think they’re gone…phew. Will repeat in a few days to be sure .Hairdresser’ s notified & this customer moving on !
Amazing stuff. After battling the plague of nits that just seemed to keep coming back and building some king of resistance to the usual stuff, I was desperate. It was embarrassing, and when I started itching too, I was mortified.
I saw an advert for Vamousse on television. It wasn’t like the oil based stuff we used and promised to kill everything, lice and eggs.
It arrived this morning, I have 4 children plus myself to treat, we have only used one can. (Although I ordered two)
1) it has a pleasant smell, oddly sweet, but not offensive, doesn’t burn your throat or nose. Very gentle in that respect.
2) I would say that me and the kids ha e sensitive scalps. I’ve used stuff in the past that has burnt me Vamousse doesn’t!
3) Waited the 15 minutes and then began to comb (the comb included in each packet is fantastic) you will be shocked by the results.
4) We could see dead ones on the scalp which just combed out, tiny little ones that we couldn’t know were there.
5) the instructions inside are good, easy and clear to follow.
Don’t mess about, although this product appears more expensive it is worth every penny. My whole family are nit free, I no longer feel like I am letting them down or embarrassed!! You will not regret your purchase!
Having tried just about every product on the market and not being able to get rid of head lice for almost 12 months I read reviews on this product and decided to give it a go. It was dispatched in a few days and followed instructions on the leaflet. It was easy to use and smelt quite nice. You do need to make sure that use at least half the can so that the hair is fully soaked and for longer thicker hair you may need the whole can. We left it for the fifteen minutes as suggested. Combed through the hair until nothing was seen on the comb or tissue. A week later we are still clear. Still soaking hair everyday with tea tree oil but so far so good. Have used most of the other products on the market and this so far has been the only one that has removed everything…nits and eggs in one treatment. Combed through with Nitty Gritty Nit Comb and conditioner a week later and we are still head lice free 🙂 It may be quite expensive but is worth every penny as far as I am concerned.
My daughters (8,4) got nits for the first time a few weeks ago. The pharmacist recommended this product. I purchased 1 bottle for all 3 of us. Unfortunately it only killed some of the lice. However, I then got told that you really need a lot more for each person depending on the length of hair. We all have quite long hair. So I purchased 3 bottles. I saturated the hair to where it was dripping, and made sure it was covering every bit of scalp and hair and it has completely worked. A week later and no sign of the horrible little creatures. So if you do buy this product make sure you buy plenty and really saturate the hair.
Used Vamousee and got the ploblam sorted at long last after spending loads on other products and never getting it sorted, we used this once and have a very happy girl.
Worth every penny and would recommend it after how much we have spent on the others so fat and them still being there.
I’ve given it a couple of weeks before reviewing just in case, but I’m delighted to say that this has worked for us. I’ve always felt that getting rid in one fell swoop has got to be the best way, especially if you can coordinate your efforts with friends. I followed the instructions to the letter, including the advice about washing bedding and towels etc, it all took a while but it was just one afternoon/evening rather than the misery of months of conditioner combing which never seems to work for us anyway. One thing I would have liked to have seen in the product description, or even on the outside of the carton, was the fact that if you’ve got long or thick hair, you’re likely to use a whole bottle. As I’d only ordered one, this meant I had to go out and buy another bottle, which was a bit of a pain. Two bottles was enough for two of us with quite thick shoulder length hair and two with short hair. It worked out quite expensive but it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this product.
