I actually purchased this bag to use for storing and carrying all the wires and microphones for live performance, plus all the batteries and bits and bobs that so easily get lost.
It’s well made, strong and has a great capacity inside, plus a fraction of the price for a branded audio cable bag. Very please.
I am training to become a Forest School Leader and needed a bag to put my tools and equipment in – this bag is ideal; it’s sturdy, big enough to fit in all of my stuff inc an A4 ring binder, the pockets on the inside are great for the smaller, sharper items, plus I used the pockets on the outside for mosquito repellent and pocket size tissue packs etc.
This tool bag arrived packed flat inside a simple plastic bag which also contains a free plastic storage box for small items.
To erect the bag you need to fold down two hinged steel supports (one each end). Once the supports are folded down they’re secured in place with Velcro loops (see picture). Once this is done the bag is fairly rigid and keeps its shape well. There is a stiff board in the base but the bag doesn’t have the type of waterproof, rigid plastic base that’s on a lot of tool bags these days.
The whole thing is constructed of sturdy nylon ‘Oxford’ fabric and the quality of workmanship and materials is good. There’s a large, heavy duty double opening zip around the lid (the zip fasteners have loops to add a small padlock if required). The carrying handle has the sort of plastic grip that slides into itself which is secure and comfortable. An adjustable, padded shoulder strap is supplied and this clips on to steel loops on the ends of the bag. There are five plastic feet on the base of the bag to stop the fabric getting scuffed on rough surfaces.
There are three pockets on the front with Velcro fastening flaps, three open pockets on the back, a large open pocket at either end and six open pockets on the inside. I ordered the 19″ version and it’s quite large with plenty of room for power tools in the main section (see pictures).
I haven’t had this bag long enough to comment on its long term durability but I’ll update this review if there’s anything to report.
This is a sturdy, well made bag and at 26.99 it’s reasonably priced compared to what’s on offer at the local trade warehouse. My only criticism is the lack of a solid plastic base and I’m knocking off a star because of this.
