Q:My car only support wired CarPlay, but I’m using an Android phone. Is it possible to use Android Auto and compatible?
A:Unfortunately, no. To use Android Auto, your car needs to have support for wired Android Auto. It cannot convert a wired CarPlay connection to a wireless Android Auto connection, or vice versa.
Q:Does this wireless car adapter work with multiple mobile phones?
A:Yes, but only one phone can be connected at a time.When pairing it with a new phone, please cancel the current connection first. By default, it will only auto-connect back to the last used phone.
It works great most of the time , however it requires a reboot (unplug and plug it back) sometimes the entertainment volume gets automatically disabled after a call. Could be a bug.
Very professionally packaged. Read the instructions fully. Whole setup took less than 5 minutes. Immediate connection on engine start up. All apps work immediately. Very, very impressed so far. Only in operation a few weeks.
So, I have a Ford Ranger Wildtrak. I already use my Android Auto with my Samsung S22 phone but wanted to go “wireless”. Bought this as it had good reviews. I connected it to the car usb port and it was immediately recognised as a Car Play dongle for an IPhone. This being incorrect gave me a bit of concern. I allowed it to connect to the car then went in my cars settings and Disabled Car Play. I plugged it back in to the car and it then connected as an Android Auto dongle. So far so good. Now, ensuring my wifi was turned on in my phone, I enabled Bluetooth, went in to its settings and paired to the Dongle easily.
It took just a few moments for it to connect and the screen in my car opened Google Maps. The Blue LED on the dongle was flashing till it made the phone connection then went solid to show it was connected.
I turned off my ignition, locked the doors and saw the LED went off, so that showed my usb is not live whilst car locked.
I then went back in to the car and turned on ignition. By the time my car had initialised the Touchscreen, the phone had connected to the dongle and then opened google maps on the cars touchscreen. I also phoned home to ensure my phone still works through the cars bluetooth, which it did.
So, in conclusion, this little device seamlessly connects my Samsung Galaxy S22+ to my car, allowing Android Auto to function wirelessly, and is all done in a few moments. How it fairs long term is yet to be learned, but so far, its a winner. The price being a lot less than others on Amazon makes it even better. It also includes an adaptor for usb C socket cars so a big winner.
It connected to blutooth and car play in 6 seconds and started playing automatically from where i left before i connected this little device. And no delays etc,everything clear and sounds rich too.i tried a usb stick before this one,which only connected to blutooth and did nothing and thanks to amazon, they refunded me,so i was hesitant as to which other to get next,so decided on this one,love it coz it connects to my iphone and my android phone for work too,so far so good,i recommend this item.
Got this to replace a different model similar price for a kodiaq2019. Uk.. this one was much better set up and re connects perfectly after a weeks use .. would recommend.
Another little great wireless adapter that beats the competition at half the price. Fast connection, only 11 seconds for me from start up for iPhone 15 with VW Tiguan 2018. No lag, fast set up and works with both of my phones for work.
