I generally go to the USA about once a year and I have found that many things are cheaper there than here. I bought a MacBook last year for a significant savings over what I would pay for it here but it came with a US plug. I could have spent about 40 from Apple to get a UK plug but instead I just got these adapters and now use one daily when charging my MacBook.
Never once have I had a problem. No overheating or other issues. Less expensive US product plus this charger = an overall savings of several hundred pounds so I am a happy shopper.
