Good size and sturdy.
Came supplied with some rope to attach.
It would have been nicer however if there were a few more holes for tying the tarp rather than just four corners for a bit more support.
This has made a our patio much more useful as it’s protected now from both rain and harsh sunlight. The middle has however stretched bigger than the reinforced sides. This means than no matter how much the sides are tightened the middle sags. We have had to use a prop to stop water backing up in folds of the fabric. It’s a good idea to think about how the water will be shed when thinking how to pitch it. We are very pleased with it but there is the issue of shedding water and stopping it ponding up in the folds of fabric. To add, we have now lowered one corner furthest from the house so the fixing is about 3 ft off the ground. It can be fixed higher when there are guests then lowered in the case of rain. It sheds water very well without intervention in the low position and can easily be moved to the low position if rain is expected. There is still a good amount of usable space in the low position. I would heartily recommend this set up is used to start with as it may avoid the canopy being stretched.
Husband put this up in 10 minutes on his own. I could have done with a little bigger but the next size was too big. Material seems fine. I actually like sitting under it. Didn’t get this for sun but for the rain. So dog can sit under it also in bad weather while I accept it won’t tolerate high winds and heavy rain. Nice cost area in garden. I was looking at Gazebos, small event cover etc. But went with this. As reviewers say we made sure the seems went the correct way round and have tightened the string. I am a bit picky with things in my new garden and I’m happy with this and the way it looks, chose grey and it goes with my garden.
Update: light rain. Attached video. Rain proof but water gathered in the middle so I prodded the middle to drain it off. I put my washing line stand in the middle to prop it up and it has worked. Just going to buy a canvas cover for the line to make it look more attractive but done the trick! Happy dog sitting underneath. Doubt this would work in high winds and very heavy rain coming from all directions but who’s knows. Happy with purchase as I got this for rain more than the sun. See how long it lasts.
I initially installed it wrong because the instructions aren’t clear on how much of a dip you should have, so the sail would flap around ferociously in the wind and I am 5ft5 and the lower bit was touching my head. The instructions are naff.
The string it comes with is pathetic and should come with hammock straps, not shoe lace.
Because the sail is so big (4 x 3) it could do with an extra support in the middle so it doesn’t dip but its not the end of the world, ever since I adjusted it, it’s a lot more secure and doesn’t flap so much in the wind.
Another issue is because I got black, it blocks the kitchen window so I don’t get any natural light anymore. Not really an issue of the sail but maybe don’t get black if you are putting it above a window and possibly get a light colour.
You probably could do with 2 people to help you, but I did it myself. Apart from those negatives, this is a really fantastic sail that keeps me protected from the sun and I can Still enjoy the heat . It serves its purpose which is most importa
