These leave a beautiful metallic color. They are a bit difficult to ‘get started’ and you have to really prime them well before they start working. But once they do they work great. The color stays vivid even once dried. They are a bit paint like so I wouldn’t recommend if your worried about mess with small children.
These pens are ideal for arts and crafts as they can be used on so many different surfaces
The metallic paint pens are ideal for Rock Painting, Stone, Ceramic, Glass, Wood, Fabric, Pebbles, Scrapbook Journals, Photo Albums, Card Stocks and many more projects – good value for money with many vibrant colours
Didn’t quite work for what I needed, end of pens quite thin but look carefully at DESCRIPTION as they have sizes of the nib ends, but nice pen service colours.
Was surprised how much they cost for the small box that fit easy through my letter box. Should have come with some crayon books as a set for that price.
I used these to decorate my kids advent calendar and it’s turned out great! A couple of the colours aren’t quite what I expected (the pale green is quite silvery and the pink is really dark and bordering on purple) but I still love them. I’ve added the glitter version to my wishlist now too
This is the first time I have used Artistro pens and I am very happy with the colour range in this set. I use them for rock painting and they cover pretty well. I have other brands of metallic pens but I think these might be my new favourite (I am a bit of a pen addict ). My only real gripe is the white pen in this set. It doesn’t seem particularly metallic and doesn’t cover very well even after a couple of coats.
I would definitely buy this set again and I think they are good value for money.
These pens give more of a metallic effect with all of the pens reflecting as silver. Each pen is individually wrapped. Their caps are a really tight fit and not easy to remove, but I suppose this will prevent the nibs from drying out. The nibs are quite hard and on some surfaces can be scratchy which produces a fine spatter of paint around your colouring or writing. The barrel of the pen has graphics that show how to use the pen and if these instructions are followed, I found the pens worked very well. You have to shake the pen quite a bit, I shook until I could hear the ball bearing moving inside the pen and clicking as it hit each end of the reservoir. You should then hold the pen vertically, with the nib down, to allow any air bubbles to rise to the top of the ink. This ensures that the ink can flow to the nib and won’t be impeded by an air-lock. Now pump the pen once, for most of the colours this was enough to allow ink to flow into the nib and prime it ready for use. You can see the ink flow into the nib and monitor its progress to the tip, this does require a little patience and, for my pens, I gave another pump or two if I couldn’t see the ink flowing into the nib. Only the black pen required more pumping than this, but I suspect that I hadn’t shaken it quite enough. Less is more when it comes to using these pens, don’t pump the nib until it starts to run dry, if you do you risk the ink blobbing. I’ve left the pens laying on their sides over night and they have all started working perfectly after a really good shake and a pump if necessary. The 12 pen colour selection isn’t brilliant as some of the colours are very similar and overall, they are not bright. If you colour a solid block, the colour of the ink only shows properly around the edge and the rest of the area appears as silver. In my limited experience with these pens I think they will be best for text, lettering and line drawing rather than colouring. Although quite good, these pens aren’t a glitter effect pen. They are quite good as a silver metallic with coloured halo pen. I don’t plan to buy them again as there are better metallic pens out there.
