I’ve used these Platinum Diamond 235 Babyliss straighteners several times now and am happy with them. Having agonised over the dozens of different ones available, I think I made a pretty good choice. My last two straighteners were from Remington, but they were not that good. I wanted a better straightener with floating plates and the Babyliss ones do close well enough without much pressure needed.

I have set mine to 160 and this is adequate for my fine hair. I tried it on on 180 and thought it was a bit too much. Many other reviews I read mentioned the noise from the ionising feature (crickets!/clicking/buzzing) and this very nearly put me off buying. For me the noise is like an electrical crackle and is not annoying, it’s just a bit disconcerting but there’s a sticker on the handle advising that the noise is not a fault.

All in all, they’re not too bad at all. They’re an improvement on my old ones at least!. Unlike many folks (it seems), I have no desire to own Ghds as I need control with temperature, I think the one setting of 185 on Ghds would kill my hair as I regularly straighten it. These Babyliss ones are a bit cheap looking in my opinion (plasticky) but have a five year guarantee according to the manufacturer.

I found these straighteners easy to use, especially when hair is fine, alleviates static and gives a nice smooth shine that lasts. Like that there is a memory function to retain preferred heat setting. Competitively priced. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve been using Remington straighteners for years but wanted to treat myself to something more up to date. Was attracted by the price of 44.95 and to the words ‘ceramic’ and ‘ionic’ in the description so chose these Babyliss straighteners. First time I used them the tip burnt my ear which never happened with my old straighteners. Sounds as if I was clumsy using them but I’ll have to learn to be more careful with these. Although I have fine hair I still need quite a high heat setting to get the straightened effect. My old straighteners also have a little push button which locks the arms together when not in use. These straighteners don’t have that so unless you use the storage pouch they look untidy on the dressing table and it’s not an attractive pouch. A little disappointed with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter my GHD straighteners finally gave up on me I really needed to get some new ones and having read the reviews for these I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. These are really good and I have the advantage with these to control the temperature which I didn’t have with my last ones.
Really good for the money, a well satisfied customer, I would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt is getting increasingly harder to find straighteners that heat up beyond 230c. So happy I found this which heats up to 235c – got one for myself and one for my mom and we both LOVE it. Does a great job, smooth to use and the long cable adds to the convenience. Would definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI spent so long looking for hair straighteners, looking at reviews and making comparisons. My trusted GHD had finally sparked out, and my back up ones were turning themselves off, so I needed to buy some, however I didn’t want to spend lots.
The Babyliss Platinum Diamond are fab! They are lightweight, the on /off switch is underneath and the digital display lets you save your preferred heat setting. The ceramic plates glide through my hair, I don’t hear any buzzing, and it hardly takes any time to straighten. The picture shows a quick once over, and my hair is really curly. I also bought the Babyliss Platinum Diamond Hairdryer which is also fab it dries my hair super quick and also helps to straighten. I highly recommend for the price and quality!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Hair Straighteners!

These straighteners are brilliant. They glide through your hair. You can set the heat required by digital display. Nice long lead. Well worth the money. I would definitely recommend them. Can’t fault them. Best straighteners I have bought so far.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI am very glad, I found this one. I bought a G.. straightener first, which we all know, costs twice as much… Had to send it back, was faulty. Received another one from them, faulty again. Then I read reviews about this one but was skeptical at first. I have been using it for a month now. It’s design is beautiful, works perfectly. Gets to the desired heat in just seconds. I have a very delicate thin hair and it doesn’t burn them. The result is long-lasting. Yes, it does make that funny noise, but it’s not loud, it’s not annoying to me. Actually, I even find it helpful because as a multi-tasking person, I normally tend to forget that I turn these things on, but because of the “noise”, I am always reminded that the straightener is on & ready to use 🙂

If there is one thing I could ask for, they could include a heat protection glove.

It does its job, but I do find that a get a few snags on my hair now and then. Plates are not perfect for that absolute smooth stroke, thicker bunches of hair pulled through the plates works well. The buzzing sound is known and expected, but is louder then I imagined. Good to know your straightener is still on though.
Happy with it considering the price I paid. If it was more, I would have returned.

Very poorly packaged. No outer protective box so look of product spoilt. As this was a present it was very important.I presume that this is an Amazon issue.
The actual straightener looks great and of good quality.
I have given 4 stars purely because of the lack of packaging.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOnly used a couple of times so far but can’t say as they’re worth the extra money as yet… I feel they don’t do as good a job of straightening my hair as my last cheaper BaByliss straighteners did… they just don’t seem to get the heat in your hair enough to straighten it somehow?!?
