Bought for my sister who has a broken wrist , .reviews were mixed so took the chance & Not disappointed, although she broke her dominant wrist she has managed to use the Bloccs waterproof cover with no problems at all , so we would highly recommend this wrist cover which can be used on either arm ,
Drys quickly over the side of the Bath ,
Quick next day delivery to her place of work , could not ask for more apart from maybe if the cover could be less expensive.
Good fit and completely waterproof. Following, a trapeziectomy to my left hand this cover provided complete coverage of the dressing, stitches and cast for over a month. I will definitely keep this cover until the surgeon gives the go ahead for my right hand.
The cover sleeve is made from a good quality durable rubber material. It is tight to get over a plaster cast but then it has to be to form a water tight seal. Once on the arm it is completely waterproof…yes it is tight on the top of the arm but that then encourages you not to be too long in the shower!!
A good product and an essential item for protecting an injury/dressing against water.
The upper cuff of this product was so tight that it was very difficult to pull on over my cast and was way too tight on my arm. However a short vertical snip enabled it to stretch more and it still made a tight seal which kept my arm dry.
Works really well and good strong rubber material . Only problem was that even with stretching the neck was too tight on the upper arm and hurt! However using a pair of sharpe scissors I simply cut off 5mm of the upper sleeve(it tapers) and that was enough to make it a lot more malleable and therefore comfortable. Bandages stayed completely dry .And looked really funny on so even had a laugh!
In the passed I’ve purchased the waterproof leg sock that amazing and I’ve never had an issue with. Recently had surgery on my hand and needed an waterproof arm sock. Same outstanding quality but found putting on the sock awkward. Even though it’s designed to stop water getting in I found my bandage not soaking as they would of been unprotected however they were damp. A quick hair dryer after showering helped.
Been diagnosed with Kienbock’s disease, my consultant put my wrist in plaster for a few weeks, I am a keen swimmer needed a cover to cover my cast and this cover is brilliant, better than I expected, keeps my cast dry and I mean dry. I have dived into the deep end of my local pool, swam a metric mile with this cover on and the cast had been dry afterwards. It is worth every penny. When I go into the pool I let all the air out to get a watertight seal to make it work, but there’s one thing I would change and that’s getting rid of the thumb bit, because when you are swimming it is a bit redundant, other than that it’s perfect.
I had a thumb operation and needed to keep my hand dry at all possible costs, but the problem was that I was about to go away on an adventure holiday that included white water rafting and visiting waterfalls. This arm cover does not look cool and is not stylish…but it does a *fantastic* job, and it’s better to sacrifice a few selfies than to get sepsis and lose your arm. I went swimming in a waterfall and this was watertight – I wouldn’t recommend fully submerging whilst wearing it unless you absolutely have to (the waterfall was stunning), but I would definitely recommend this item!! It’s also well worth the cost because it’s a lot less expensive than the medical bills to cover a lengthy stay due to sepsis, which is definitely not recommended.
I fractured my wrist and 4 weeks later went on a 7 day holiday buy the pool, and a day at a water park. The Blocc lasted the whole week being taken off and put on multiple times a day, I kept it on for several hours at a time. By the end of the week it was starting to weaken so it didn’t seal that well and a little water was starting to leak in when submerged in the pool. It is really important to get the right size and you really need someone to help you put it on, but it is easy to do with help. I would definitely recommend it for a vigorous week in the water. As for the water park it worked on every ride apart from a tiny bit of water entering as I hit the bottom on a 50mph water slide
I purchased this item as I’ve broken my wrist and was told conventional carrier bags are not sufficient in keeping the cast dry during showering.
I thought the price was quite high but was willing to pay it, if it meant i could shower and attend a spa with a group of friends. I found this easy to put on myself, although would only recommend this once the initial pain subsides a little as a small amount of tugging and movement is needed. The band at the top of the cover is understandably tight to keep the water out but would be uncomfortable over longer periods. It’s fine for the shower but wouldnt recommend this for swimming as even showering the odd trickle of water went into the pot (easily dried with hair dryer though). Overall really pleased with the item but not 100% water tight seal despite how tight the top is. Arrived very quickly and item soon dries so you can put it away – material feels similar to a swimming cap.
